Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.8
GPA, above 4 of the 17 other password managers we grade
Sticky Password is a password manager and form filler from Lamantine Software. It stores passwords, passkeys, payment cards and secure notes in a vault that is encrypted on the device, fills them in browsers and apps, and is free on a single device. Premium adds syncing across devices through the cloud or over local Wi-Fi, password sharing and priority support, and is sold as a yearly subscription or a lifetime license.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Sticky Password, taken from its own pages and our grades.
It saves logins as you browse and the vault opens with your fingerprint, face or a PIN.
- 1
Best for syncing passwords over your own Wi-Fi, no cloud
The free version covers one device only, so matching your phone and laptop means paying, and sharing is Premium too.
- 2
Paid plans start at $2.50 a month when paid by the year
As its pricing page puts it: $29.99 per year (Premium, 1 user, US App Store in-app price).
- 3
There is a free plan
The store listings say Sticky Password is always free for one device. Cloud sync and backup, local Wi-Fi sync, password sharing and priority support are Premium features.
- 4
It runs on 2 platforms
iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.
- 5
Autofill and form filling
Saves logins as you browse and fills passwords and online forms in browsers and supported apps. The vault unlocks with a master password, biometrics or a PIN.
- 6
Passkeys
Creates and uses passkeys for sign-ins and stores them in the vault alongside passwords, payment cards and secure notes.
- 7
Cloud or local Wi-Fi sync
Premium syncs devices either through Sticky Password's cloud or over local Wi-Fi with no cloud involved. Data is encrypted on the device before it syncs.
- 8
A 2.8 GPA, above 4 of 17
That is against the other password managers we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
To replace Sticky Password you would be making a password vault, the last thing anyone should make for themselves. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for syncing passwords over your own Wi-Fi, no cloud
Sticky Password can sync your devices over your home Wi-Fi with no cloud involved, and sells Premium at $29.99 a year or $79.99 once. The free version covers one device only, so matching your phone and laptop means paying, and sharing is Premium too. There's no web vault, no integrations or API, the Firefox extension needs the desktop app, and two Lifetime+ purchases in the store don't say what they include.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Premium is $29.99 a year on the US App Store, which is $2.50 a month, down in the lowest-priced quarter of this category where plans start at $2.49 and the middle is $2.99. Lifetime at $79.99 is a worse bet, nearly three years of the yearly price. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Always free on one device, the store listings say, and one device is the wall: cloud sync and backup, Wi-Fi sync and password sharing are all Premium. No trial of Premium is on record either. |
| Features | B | Nothing the category expects is missing: autofill for logins and forms, passkeys, payment cards, secure notes, a generator, breach monitoring and a weak-password check. Premium syncs by cloud or local Wi-Fi, and Contactless Connect approves a login on any computer from your phone. |
| Ease of use | B | 4.69 from about 1,500 App Store ratings, just short of our top mark and on thinner evidence than the big names here. It saves logins as you browse and the vault opens with your fingerprint, face or a PIN. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | iPhone, Android and extensions for Chrome and Firefox, with the Firefox one only working when the desktop app is on the same computer. No web vault, no integrations and no API are listed. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Sticky Password is for
- Fits if you want your devices to sync over local Wi-Fi and stay off the cloud
- Works for one device on the free version, or for paying $79.99 once instead of renewing
Who it is not for
- Tight if you're never paying and own a phone and a laptop, as free covers one device
- Skip it if you want to share logins without paying, because sharing is Premium
- Not for you if you want it wired into other tools, since no integrations, API or web vault are listed
- Watch out: the Firefox extension only works with the Sticky Password desktop app on the same computer
- Watch out: Lifetime+ is listed at $12 for 1 year and $24 for 2 without saying what it includes, and website prices may differ
Good to know
Good for
- People who want to sync passwords over local Wi-Fi without a cloud
- Buyers who prefer a lifetime license to a yearly subscription
- Single-device users who can stay on the free version
Worth knowing
- The free version covers one device; syncing, cloud backup, password sharing and priority support need Premium.
- Prices here are the US App Store's in-app prices. Plans sold on the vendor's website, including any for teams, may be priced differently.
- The Firefox extension's listing says it works only when the Sticky Password desktop application is installed on the same computer.
- The App Store lists Lifetime+ purchases at $12.00 for 1 year and $24.00 for 2 years without saying what they include.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Sticky Password you would be making a password vault, the last thing anyone should make for themselves. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 8 of the 17 other password managers grade higher. It costs $29.99 a year.
What you could not
- A password vault, the last thing anyone should make for themselves.
- Passkeys, which rest on security you cannot improvise.
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Sticky Password’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
