Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.0

GPA, above 1 of the 65 other focus apps we grade

Sukha is a focus app that runs in a Chromium browser on Mac, Windows and Chromebook. One button starts a session that combines lofi or binaural music, a Pomodoro timer, a task list with an AI assistant, and blocking of distracting websites and apps. It is sold as a $20 monthly membership or a one-time lifetime purchase, with a 3-day free trial and no free plan.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Sukha, taken from its own pages and our grades.

There's no Safari, Firefox or mobile app, and the vendor says it doesn't suit a day of calls and meetings.
From our report card of Sukha
  1. 1

Best for music, timer, tasks and blocking behind one button

Sukha puts music, a Pomodoro timer, a task list and distraction blocking behind one Play button, in a Chromium browser.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $20 a month

As its pricing page puts it: $20 / month.

  4. 4

    It runs on Web

Web, with a browser extension too.

  5. 5

    One-button focus sessions

A single Play button starts the music, the timer and the blocking together, so a session needs no separate setup. Members get unlimited daily sessions.

  6. 6

    Flow music

Lofi and binaural tracks plus six more sound worlds, playing for as long as a session runs.

  7. 7

    Distraction blocking

Blocks distracting websites and apps during a session, on the computer and, the vendor says, on your phone. A free Chrome extension extends the blocking across the browser.

  8. 8

    A 2.0 GPA, above 1 of 65

That is against the other focus apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

The report card

Best for music, timer, tasks and blocking behind one button

Sukha puts music, a Pomodoro timer, a task list and distraction blocking behind one Play button, in a Chromium browser. It's $20 a month with no annual plan and no free plan, about five times the typical focus app, and the trial is 3 days. There's no Safari, Firefox or mobile app, and the vendor says it doesn't suit a day of calls and meetings.

ToolGPA report cardSukhaGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyD$20 a month, with no annual plan. This category's dearest tenth starts at $12, and the middle is $3.99, so Sukha is five times the going rate. Lifetime at $400 is twenty months of paying. Students and people between jobs are invited to email the founder about a lower price.
Free plan and trialDNo free plan at all, and the trial is 3 days. That's less than a week to decide on $20 a month, in a category where 44 of 66 tools have a free plan.
FeaturesBIt covers the whole job: one button starts the music, the Pomodoro timer and the blocking together, tasks import from Todoist, Linear and Google Tasks, an AI assistant cuts a big task down to one next step, and your Slack status is set for you.
Ease of useBNo store rating on record, but there is nothing to set up: it runs in the browser and a session starts when you press Play. No lists to build first, no accounts you must connect.
Platforms and integrationsCOne browser family and nothing else. Chrome, Edge, Arc and Brave; no native desktop app, Safari and Firefox unlisted, and no mobile app, though the site says blocking reaches your phone without saying how.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Sukha is for

  • Fits if you do solo deep work, like writing, coding or design, in Chrome, Edge, Arc or Brave
  • Works for Todoist, Linear or Slack users who want tasks pulled in and their status set during focus time

Who it is not for

  • Pricey if you compare it with almost any other focus app, at $20 a month with no annual plan, or $400 once
  • Tight if you like to make your mind up slowly, because the trial runs out after 3 days
  • Skip it if you use Safari or Firefox, as it only runs in Chromium browsers
  • Not for you if your day is mostly calls and meetings, which the vendor itself says it isn't suited to
  • Watch out: the site says blocking reaches your phone but doesn't say how, and lists no mobile app

Good to know

Good for

  • Writers, developers and designers doing solo deep work
  • People who want music, timer, tasks and blocking behind one button
  • Slack users who want their status set automatically during focus time

Worth knowing

  • There is no free plan: after the 3-day trial it costs $20 a month or $400 once, and no annual plan is listed.
  • It runs only in Chromium browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Arc and Brave, with no native desktop app; Safari and Firefox are not listed.
  • The site says blocking reaches apps and websites on your phone but does not explain how, and it lists no mobile app.
  • The vendor says Sukha is not suited to people whose day is mostly phone calls, Zoom and meetings.

Part 03 · Features

What it does

Its main features, where it runs, what it works with and who makes it

2

Places it runs: Web and Browser extension

Browser-based focus sessions with music, timer, tasks and blocking. Here is what it does, as its own site describes it, and what it covers: one-time purchase, AI features, tasks, site & app blocker, Pomodoro timer, focus music.

One-button focus sessions
A single Play button starts the music, the timer and the blocking together, so a session needs no separate setup. Members get unlimited daily sessions.
Flow music
Lofi and binaural tracks plus six more sound worlds, playing for as long as a session runs.
Distraction blocking
Blocks distracting websites and apps during a session, on the computer and, the vendor says, on your phone. A free Chrome extension extends the blocking across the browser.
AI task manager and coach
A task list keeps the next step in view, and the AI assistant breaks a task that feels too big into one specific next step. To-dos can be imported from Todoist, Linear and Google Tasks.
Automated Pomodoro timer
Sessions run on a work-and-break rhythm with prompts for healthy breaks, and streaks and points track how consistently you show up.
Slack status updates
When a session starts, Sukha sets your Slack status to say you are in a session and mutes incoming notifications.

Part 04 · Standing

Where it stands

Its grades against its category, and whether to keep it or make your own

1/65

Other focus apps it is graded above

Sukha's GPA of 2.0 is higher than 1 of the 65 other focus apps we grade, and level with 3.

It stands best on features (B, above 48 of 65) and worst on value for money (D, above 0).

Its paid plans start at $20 a month, against a middle price of $2.82 for the category: 43 of the 45 others that charge start lower.

On features, ease of use and platforms it scores 2.7 out of 4. 16 tools score higher and cost less.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Sukha you could make: Pomodoro timer and tasks. What surrounds it you could not. The 5 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 61 of the 65 other focus apps grade higher. It costs $240 a year.

What you could make

  • Pomodoro timer and tasks: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A library of sound you would have to license.
  • Blocking that reaches every browser and app and is hard to switch off.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • People on the other end: coaches. No app builder makes those.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Sukha’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
