Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.6
GPA, above 35 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade
Sunsama is a daily planner that combines a task list with your calendar. A guided routine walks you through choosing the day's tasks, estimating them and timeboxing them on a Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar, with tasks pulled in from tools such as Asana, Trello, Gmail and Slack. It is sold as a single paid plan with a 14-day trial and no free tier.
To get you started, here are 10 things to know about Sunsama, taken from its own pages and our grades.
It runs on web, Mac, Windows, Linux and both phones.
- 1
Best for a guided planning routine every workday
Sunsama walks you through each workday: pick today's tasks, guess how long they'll take and drop them onto your calendar.
- 2
Paid plans start at $17 a month for each person
As its pricing page puts it: $17 per user / month, billed yearly ($204).
- 3
You can try it first
14-day free trial with access to all features, no credit card required.
- 4
It runs on 6 platforms
Web, macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android.
- 5
Guided daily planning
A step-by-step routine: review yesterday, add today's tasks, check the predicted workload and set the order. Sunsama can prompt you to start at a set time.
- 6
Timeboxing
Drag a task to a time slot, or press X to auto-schedule it. The block shows up in Google, Outlook or iCloud calendar, or on Sunsama's internal calendar.
- 7
Tasks from other tools
Bring in work from Asana, Trello, Jira, Linear, Notion, Todoist, Gmail, Slack and others, and plan it alongside tasks created in Sunsama.
- 8
Refunds: no set window
No refunds here, full stop: the terms say all purchases are final. Getting out is easy, though.
- 9
A 2.6 GPA, above 35 of 69
That is against the other daily planner apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 10
Keep it
The plain part of Sunsama you could make: tasks, calendar, time blocking, Pomodoro timer and goals. What surrounds it you could not. The 6 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

The report card
Best for a guided planning routine every workday
Sunsama walks you through each workday: pick today's tasks, guess how long they'll take and drop them onto your calendar. It runs on web, Mac, Windows, Linux and both phones. But there's no free plan after the 14-day trial, it's $17 a user a month even on yearly billing and $22 monthly, and your data is deleted 30 days after you cancel.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | D | $17 a user a month, and only if you hand over $204 for the year. Pay monthly and it's $22. A planner here typically starts around $6, so you're paying about three times the going rate with no cheaper tier to drop to. |
| Free plan and trial | C | No free plan. You get 14 days with every feature and no card asked for, and then the workspace locks until you subscribe. |
| Features | B | Guided daily planning, timeboxing onto Google, Outlook or iCloud calendars, tasks pulled in from Asana, Trello, Jira, Notion, Gmail and Slack, a focus timer with Pomodoro, and a weekly review. That's the whole job of a daily planner, and the listing doesn't point at a hole in it. |
| Ease of use | B | 4.5 from about 500 App Store ratings. The daily routine goes in order: review yesterday, add today's tasks, check the workload, set the order. Not much to work out. |
| Platforms and integrations | A | Web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android, plus Google, Outlook and Apple calendars, Asana, Todoist, Notion, Slack and Gmail, with Zapier and MCP on top. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Sunsama is for
- Fits if you want the same planning routine every workday, step by step
- Works for people whose tasks sit in Asana, Trello, Gmail and Slack
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want a free plan, because there isn't one once the 14-day trial ends
- Pricey if you're one person, at $204 a year up front, or $22 a user a month billed monthly
- Not for you if you might stop and come back later, as your data is deleted 30 days after a canceled plan ends
- Watch out: SSO, SAML, SCIM and audit logs are Enterprise only, and Enterprise has no public price
Good to know
Good for
- Professionals who want a fixed routine for planning each workday
- Pulling tasks from several work tools into one daily list
- Linux users: desktop apps cover macOS, Windows and Linux
Worth knowing
- There is no free plan. Workspace access stops when the 14-day trial ends unless you subscribe.
- The $17 rate requires paying $204 per user for the year; monthly billing is $22 per user.
- SSO, SAML, SCIM and audit logs are limited to the Enterprise plan, which has no public price.
- Workspace data is permanently deleted 30 days after a cancelled subscription ends.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Sunsama you could make: tasks, calendar, time blocking, Pomodoro timer and goals. What surrounds it you could not. The 6 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
It costs $204 a year.
What you could make
- Tasks, calendar, time blocking, Pomodoro timer and goals: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A scheduler that rearranges your day as things move.
- Apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
- It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and Apple Calendar among them.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Sunsama’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
Part 05 · Refunds
After you pay
Getting your money back, getting out, and getting help
What happens once you have paid: whether you can get your money back, how to leave, and how to reach a person when something goes wrong. Each is graded from Sunsama’s own terms and help pages.
Refunds and cancelling
Ordinary · checked Oct 12, 2026
No refunds here, full stop: the terms say all purchases are final. Getting out is easy, though. You cancel yourself in Billing, Sunsama makes a point of not hiding the button, and you keep using it until the cycle ends. That's the ordinary deal and an ordinary C. The thing to know is what comes after: 30 days on, your workspace data is deleted for good.
- Refund window
- No set window
- How you cancel
- Yourself, in settings
- Getting your money back
The terms of service say all purchases are final and no refunds will be provided, and give no exception. The billing help page says nothing more about refunds. It does say the 14-day trial takes no payment details, so nothing is charged unless you choose to upgrade.
Stated on sunsama.com- How to cancel Sunsama
You cancel in the app: Workspace settings, then Billing, then the Manage Billing button, which opens the customer portal. Billing sits under Workspace settings, not personal Settings, and only the workspace admin can change it. The pricing page says cancelling does not go through support: you are asked why and then given a button to cancel.
- Click Sunsama at the top left and open Workspace settings
- Open Billing, or go straight to the billing page of the web app
- Click the Manage Billing button to open the customer portal
- What you keep afterwards
You can keep using Sunsama until the end of the billing cycle, and it then does not renew. Thirty days after the subscription ends, the data in the workspace is permanently deleted, unless you buy a new subscription or start a new free trial. The FAQ says data can be exported from Settings, under Account Management.
Stated on help.sunsama.com- Renewals
The terms say an account set to auto-renew may be charged automatically for the renewal unless you tell the company you want to cancel or turn auto-renewal off. They promise at least 30 days' notice of a change in fees, mention no reminder before a renewal, and say all purchases are final.
Stated on sunsama.com
In your favour
- You cancel yourself in Billing. Sunsama says it asks why and then hands you the button.
- Cancel and you keep using it until the cycle you paid for ends.
- The trial takes no card, so you can't be charged by forgetting.
- You can export your data from Settings before you go.
Watch out for
- All purchases are final. The terms give no refund and no exception.
- Thirty days after your subscription ends, your workspace data is permanently deleted.
- It renews by itself, and the terms promise no reminder first.
- Only the workspace admin can cancel, because billing lives under Workspace settings.
Customer support
Ordinary · checked Oct 12, 2026
You can email Sunsama or message the team from inside the app, and there's a decent user manual and a Slack community. What's missing is any promise: no hours, no reply time, no phone. At this price we'd like to see a number. Still, an email address and good docs is where most tools sit, so it's a C.
Ways to get help
Email
The help page gives a support email address for any issue. The billing page sends discount requests and trial extensions to the same address.
Stated on help.sunsama.comHelp inside the app
An in-app messaging tool, found through the Command Palette, reaches the support team from inside Sunsama.
Stated on help.sunsama.comHelp centre

Stated on help.sunsama.comCommunity or forum
There is a Sunsama community on Slack. It has no permanent invite link, so you ask support to send you one.

In your favour
- Two ways to reach a person: email, or the messaging tool inside the app.
- The user manual is thorough and has a whole section on billing.
- There's a Slack community if you'd rather ask other users.
Watch out for
- No hours and no reply time are stated anywhere.
- No phone support is mentioned on any page we read.
- The Slack community has no public invite link. You have to ask support for one.
