Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
3.2
GPA, above 26 of the 26 other AI app builders we grade
Taskade is a collaborative workspace whose Genesis builder turns a prompt into a hosted web app, such as a CRM, dashboard or client portal, backed by the workspace's projects, AI agents and automations. Agents can be trained on your own files and run in the background, and automations connect to more than 100 integrations. Pricing is per workspace instead of per seat, with AI use metered in monthly credits.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Taskade, taken from its own pages and our grades.
- 1
Best for small teams building internal tools on one flat price
Taskade is a team workspace that also builds things: type a prompt and Genesis turns it into a hosted web app, say a CRM or a client portal, wired to the projects, agents and automations you keep there.
- 2
Paid plans start at $10 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $10 per month, billed annually ($120); $20 billed monthly (Pro, 10 users).
- 3
There is a free plan
Free forever for 2 users: up to 3 Genesis apps with hosting, plus projects and basic automations. AI use draws on 11,000 one-time credits that do not renew.
- 4
It runs on 6 platforms
Web, macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.
- 5
Genesis app builder
One prompt generates a hosted web app, such as a CRM, dashboard or client portal, connected to the workspace's projects, agents and automations. Free keeps up to 3 apps; Pro is unlimited.
- 6
AI agents
Agents can be trained on files, projects and web content, given custom tools, and left running in the background. Paid plans offer 15+ models, and Business adds agent teams.
- 7
Automations
Workflows with branching, looping and filters run on triggers or on an hourly, daily, weekly or monthly schedule, and connect to more than 100 integrations.
- 8
A 3.2 GPA, above 26 of 26
That is against the other AI app builders we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
To replace Taskade you would be making a tool that builds and hosts other apps. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for small teams building internal tools on one flat price
Taskade is a team workspace that also builds things: type a prompt and Genesis turns it into a hosted web app, say a CRM or a client portal, wired to the projects, agents and automations you keep there. Pro is $10 a month on the yearly plan for 10 users. But the free plan's 11,000 AI credits come once and never refill, monthly billing doubles the price, and it makes web apps only.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | Pro is $10 a month billed annually ($120) and covers 10 users, with 50,000 credits a month and unlimited apps, agents and automations. Builders here charge about $19 in the middle, usually per seat, so this is plainly cheaper than the category. Monthly billing doubles it to $20, and API access needs Business at $25. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free forever for 2 users, and up to 3 Genesis apps stay hosted. But the AI runs on 11,000 credits granted once, 1,000 on verifying and 10,000 on your first build, and they never come back, with credit packs sold to paid plans only. One agent, three automations. |
| Features | C | Genesis turns a prompt into a hosted web app tied to your projects, agents train on your files and run in the background, and automations branch, loop and run to a schedule across 100+ integrations, with a REST API behind it. But Taskade says plainly there's no App Store or Play build step: web apps only. |
| Ease of use | A | 4.7 from about 6,400 App Store ratings. You describe the tool you want and get a live app with hosting included — no code, nothing to deploy, and it hangs off projects your team already uses. |
| Platforms and integrations | A | Web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, Android and browser extensions. It connects to Slack, Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe and GitHub, with webhooks and an MCP server. API access itself starts on Business. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Taskade is for
- Fits if a team of up to 10 wants apps, agents and automations on one $10 bill
- Works for people who want their projects and the tools built on them in the same place
Who it is not for
- Tight if you're staying free, because the 11,000 AI credits are a one-time grant and credit packs are sold to paid plans only
- Skip it if you need an app in the App Store or Google Play, as Genesis builds web apps only
- Pricey if you pay month by month, since monthly billing is double the yearly rate, $20 for Pro
- Watch out: Free stops at 2 users, 3 apps, 1 agent and 3 automations, and a fourth app is blocked
- Not for you if you need a custom domain, white-label branding, SSO or the API, which start on Business at $25
Good to know
Good for
- Small teams that want apps, agents and automations in one workspace
- Internal tools such as CRMs, dashboards and client portals
- Teams of up to 10 on Pro, since pricing is per workspace and not per seat
Worth knowing
- Free credits are a one-time grant of 11,000 that does not renew, and extra credit packs are sold on paid plans only.
- A Free workspace is limited to 2 users, 3 apps, 1 AI agent and 3 automations; a fourth app is blocked until you upgrade.
- Custom domains, white-label branding, SAML single sign-on and API access start on Business.
- Genesis builds web apps only: Taskade says there is no App Store or Google Play build step.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Taskade you would be making a tool that builds and hosts other apps. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 3.2 is higher than 26 of the 26 other AI app builders we grade. It costs $120 a year.
What you could not
- A tool that builds and hosts other apps.
- A builder that other people can use without writing code.
- An AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it.
- Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
- Apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- Several people working in it at the same moment.
What this rests on. Taskade’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
