Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.0
GPA, above 2 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade
Temporal is a web app that keeps tasks and a calendar in one window and uses AI to place tasks into time blocks. It reads the week's meetings from Google Calendar, looks for stretches suited to deep work and proposes a schedule that can be accepted, edited or ignored. An AI chat takes plain-language requests such as moving a meeting or finding two free hours. The site says it is built by one person in Kyiv.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Temporal, taken from its own pages and our grades.
No store rating on record, and it's a web app you have to point at your Google Calendar before it can do anything.
- 1
Best for AI scheduling you approve one change at a time
Temporal reads your week in Google Calendar, finds open stretches for focused work and offers to put your tasks there, and you accept, edit or skip each suggestion or let it run on auto.
- 2
Paid plans start at $7.67 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $23 per 3 months (about $7.67 per month), or $9 billed monthly.
- 3
You can try it first
7-day free trial, no credit card required; scheduling automation pauses afterwards until you upgrade
- 4
It runs on Web
Web.
- 5
Focus-aware scheduling
The AI reads where meetings cluster and where the week is open, then places deep-work tasks in the hours it identifies as your focus windows.
- 6
OFF, SUGGEST and AUTO modes
Schedule everything by hand, have the AI propose changes that you accept or skip one by one, or let it schedule automatically. SUGGEST is the default.
- 7
AI chat
A chat that can see the calendar and task list takes requests in plain language, such as moving a review to Thursday or fitting a set of tasks around meetings.

The report card
Best for AI scheduling you approve one change at a time
Temporal reads your week in Google Calendar, finds open stretches for focused work and offers to put your tasks there, and you accept, edit or skip each suggestion or let it run on auto. It's $9 a month. But it's a web app only, Google Calendar is the one calendar it syncs, there's no free plan after the 7-day trial, and the terms license it for personal use only.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | $9 a month, or $23 every three months, which works out at $7.67. Planners here run from about $4 at the low end to $10 at the dear end, so Temporal sits in the upper middle of the pack. The Lifetime Early Bird is $149, more than two years of a typical planner. |
| Free plan and trial | C | No free plan. The 7-day trial asks for no card, and when it runs out the scheduling pauses until you pay. The monthly plan's 30-day money-back guarantee isn't a trial, so it doesn't count here. |
| Features | C | Focus-aware scheduling with OFF, SUGGEST and AUTO modes, a chat that'll shift a review to Thursday for you, two-way Google Calendar sync and adaptive rescheduling. The gap is in its own list: Google Calendar is the only calendar it reads today, with Outlook, Slack, GitHub and Todoist all marked coming soon. |
| Ease of use | C | No store rating on record, and it's a web app you have to point at your Google Calendar before it can do anything. SUGGEST is the default mode, so nothing moves until you say yes. |
| Platforms and integrations | C | A web app and nothing else: the site lists no desktop or mobile app. Google Calendar, Linear and Notion are the connections on offer, so if your calendar is Outlook you're waiting. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Temporal is for
- Fits if you live in Google Calendar and want tasks placed into focus time
- Works for people who want to okay each AI change before it touches the week
Who it is not for
- Skip it if your calendar is Outlook, which is still marked coming soon
- Not for you if you want a phone or desktop app, as it's web only
- Not for you if it's for a business, since the terms license it for personal, non-commercial use
- Not for you if you want a free plan, as scheduling pauses after the 7-day trial until you pay
- Watch out: Slack, GitHub and Todoist are also only marked coming soon, so Linear and Notion are the links today
Good to know
Good for
- Google Calendar users who want tasks placed into protected focus blocks
- People who want to approve each AI scheduling change before it is applied
- Individuals looking for an AI scheduler at $9 a month or less
Worth knowing
- The site describes a web app and lists no desktop or mobile apps.
- Google Calendar is the only calendar it syncs with today; Outlook is marked as coming soon.
- There is no free plan: after the 7-day trial, scheduling automation pauses until a paid plan is chosen.
- The terms of service license Temporal for personal, non-commercial use.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Temporal you could make: calendar, tasks, time blocking and natural-language input. What surrounds it you could not. The 2 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 62 of the 69 other daily planner apps grade higher. It costs $92 a year.
What you could make
- Calendar, tasks, time blocking and natural-language input: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A scheduler that rearranges your day as things move.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
What this rests on. Temporal’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
