Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.8
GPA, above 44 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps we grade
TidyCal is an online scheduling tool from AppSumo's parent company, Sumo Group. You create booking types, share a booking page, and clients pick times that are free on your connected Google, Microsoft 365 or Apple calendars, paying through Stripe or PayPal if you charge. It has a free plan, two lifetime plans bought once through AppSumo, and a Pro subscription that removes TidyCal's branding and platform fee.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about TidyCal, taken from its own pages and our grades.
- 1
Best for paying once for your booking page
But it's only a booking page, with no calendar of your own and no phone app.
- 2
Paid plans start at $8.25 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $29 one-time (Individual Lifetime), or Pro at $8.25 per month billed annually ($99).
- 3
There is a free plan
Free forever: unlimited bookings and booking types, paid, recurring and package bookings, date polls and 1 calendar connection. Stripe payments carry a 1% platform fee.
- 4
It runs on Web
Web.
- 5
Booking page and booking types
Every plan includes a shareable booking page with unlimited booking types and unlimited bookings, one-click translation, guest invites and a listing in TidyCal's public directory.
- 6
Paid bookings
Charge for a booking through Stripe or PayPal and create discount codes, on every plan. TidyCal takes a 1% platform fee on Stripe payments except on Pro.
- 7
Recurring bookings, packages and subscriptions
Let clients book recurring appointments, pre-pay for a bundle of sessions, or subscribe to a package with recurring billing through Stripe.
- 8
A 2.8 GPA, above 44 of 74

The report card
Best for paying once for your booking page
TidyCal is a booking page you can buy once: $29 for Individual Lifetime on AppSumo, and the free plan takes unlimited bookings and payments. But it's only a booking page, with no calendar of your own and no phone app. Free connects 1 calendar with no Zoom or Meet links, free and lifetime plans pay a 1% fee on Stripe payments, and new Agency Lifetime licenses stop at 4 seats.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | Individual Lifetime is $29, paid once on AppSumo, where a year of a typical calendar subscription is about $72. For that you get automatic Zoom, Meet and Teams links, group bookings, API access and 10 calendar connections. Pro is $8.25 a month billed annually if you want no branding. |
| Free plan and trial | B | Free forever, with unlimited bookings and booking types, paid bookings through Stripe and PayPal, recurring and package bookings and date polls. A solo coach could really live on it. But it connects 1 calendar, won't make Zoom or Meet links, and takes 1% of Stripe payments. |
| Features | C | Paid bookings with discount codes, recurring appointments, session packages and subscriptions, round robin and collective meetings on Agency and Pro, Zapier, an API and an AI booking assistant. It does the booking-link job fully, and that's all it does: no calendar here, and SMS reminders are US and Canada only. |
| Ease of use | C | No store rating on record. It runs in a browser with nothing to install, but you still connect a calendar, build booking types and wire up Stripe or PayPal before a link is worth sending. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | A web app only: there's no iPhone or Android app. It connects to Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, Apple Calendar, Zoom, Teams, Stripe, PayPal and Zapier, and paid plans get the API and an MCP connection. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who TidyCal is for
- Fits if you're a solo coach, consultant or tutor who'd rather pay once than monthly
- Works for selling paid sessions, packages or subscriptions straight from a booking page
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want to manage bookings in a phone app, because there isn't one
- Pricey if you take lots of Stripe payments, as free and lifetime plans pay a 1% platform fee
- Tight if your team is bigger than 4, since new Agency Lifetime licenses are capped at 4 seats
- Tight if you stay free: 1 calendar connection and no automatic Zoom, Meet or Teams links
- Watch out: lifetime plans are sold through AppSumo, Pro at $99 a year has no trial, and SMS reminders are US and Canada only
Good to know
Good for
- Solo coaches, consultants and tutors who would rather pay once than monthly
- Selling paid sessions, packages and subscriptions from a booking page
- Small teams that want round robin on a flat-priced plan
Worth knowing
- The Free plan connects 1 calendar and cannot auto-create Zoom, Google Meet or Teams links; those need a paid plan.
- Free and lifetime plans pay TidyCal a 1% platform fee on Stripe payments, on top of Stripe's own fees. Only Pro has none.
- Lifetime plans are bought through AppSumo, and Agency Lifetime licenses bought from September 1, 2026 are capped at 4 team seats.
- There is no iOS or Android app; TidyCal runs in a browser. The Pro subscription has no free trial.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
Nothing TidyCal does is plain enough to make in a weekend. The 4 things listed below take a company.
It costs $99 a year.
What you could not
- Booking pages that read and write other people's calendars and send the emails.
- It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365 and Apple Calendar among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
What this rests on. TidyCal’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
