Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 48 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade

tududi is an open-source task and life-management system, built primarily by one maintainer and released under the MIT license. Work is organized into areas, goals, projects and tasks, with notes, habits, an Eisenhower matrix and Kanban boards alongside, and a planner that fits tasks into the free time around calendar meetings. It can be self-hosted at no cost or used as tududi Cloud, a paid hosted service that runs the same application.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about tududi, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Cloud is hosted for you, but you still build the areas, goals and projects and wire up the calendar feeds yourself before it does much.

The report card

Best for an open-source task system you can self-host

tududi is an open-source task and life organizer with goals, projects, notes, habits, a Kanban board and a planner that fits tasks between your meetings. Self-hosting is free but means running Docker, a reverse proxy, TLS and backups yourself, and tududi Cloud is €5 a month before taxes with no free plan. There are no native phone or desktop apps, and an unpaid Cloud account is deleted after 30 days read-only.

ToolGPA report cardtududiGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyC€5 a person a month, or €50 a year before taxes. That's the dear end of what to-do apps start at, and the free route is self-hosting, so you're paying for a server instead. The €50 yearly price is labeled early bird, so don't count on it staying.
Free plan and trialCtududi Cloud has no free plan, just a 14-day trial. It doesn't ask for a card, at least. Stop there and the account goes read-only for 30 days and is then deleted. Free forever only if you run the server yourself.
FeaturesAAreas and goals down to projects, tasks and subtasks, with notes and habits alongside, and one Add box that reads "next fri" or "every first monday". Then the bits its rivals don't have: a planner that drops tasks into the free time between meetings, and an MCP server with 59 tools for agents like Claude Desktop.
Ease of useCNo rating on record to go by. Cloud is hosted for you, but you still build the areas, goals and projects and wire up the calendar feeds yourself before it does much. And the free route is Docker, a reverse proxy, TLS, updates and backups, all on you.
Platforms and integrationsBBrowser only, installable as a PWA, with no native phone or desktop app. What it connects to: two-way CalDAV with Apple Reminders, tasks.org and Thunderbird, a Telegram bot, read-only Google, Apple and Outlook calendar feeds, and a REST API.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who tududi is for

  • Fits if you want a self-hosted task system under the MIT license, with no seat limits
  • Works for days full of meetings, with tasks fitted into the gaps, or for running tasks from Claude Desktop over MCP

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you want a native phone app, as it only runs in a browser or as a PWA
  • Not for you if you want a free hosted plan, because tududi Cloud only has a 14-day trial
  • Watch out: a Cloud account left unpaid goes read-only for 30 days and is then deleted
  • Not for you if servers aren't your thing and you won't pay, since free means Docker, a reverse proxy, TLS and backups
  • Watch out: Cloud prices are in euros before taxes, and the €50 yearly rate is labeled early bird

Good to know

Good for

  • People who want a self-hosted task system under the MIT license
  • Planning a day's tasks around calendar meetings
  • Connecting an AI agent to tasks through a built-in MCP server
  • Keeping goals, projects, notes and habits in one system

Worth knowing

  • tududi Cloud has no free plan. After the 14-day trial, an account without a subscription turns read-only for 30 days and is then deleted.
  • There are no native mobile or desktop apps: tududi runs in a browser and can be installed as a PWA.
  • Cloud prices are listed in euros and exclude taxes, and the €50 yearly price is labelled an early-bird rate.
  • The free option is self-hosting, which means running Docker, a reverse proxy, TLS, updates and backups yourself.

Part 02 · Pricing

Ways to pay less

  • Annual discount

About 17% less with yearly billing

tududi Cloud is €5 a month or €50 a year per person. Twelve months at the monthly rate come to €60, so yearly billing costs about 17% less. The page labels €50 an early-bird price.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of tududi you could make: tasks, natural-language input and habit tracking. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

It costs $56.03 a year. tududi is open source, so there is a third way: take its code and run it yourself.

What you could make

  • Tasks, natural-language input and habit tracking: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
  • It plugs into other products, Telegram, Google Calendar and Outlook among them, and has an API.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • The depth: we grade its features A, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. tududi’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
