Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.0

GPA, above 5 of the 51 other AI agents we grade

Twin is a platform for building autonomous AI agents, which it calls AI employees, by describing a job in plain language. Agents connect to business apps, fall back to a cloud browser when a site has no API, and run on schedules, webhooks or app events, reporting back in the web app or Slack. Since September 2026 its plans are flat monthly prices with unlimited usage rather than credits, and a Store plan is aimed at people who run agents for clients.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Twin, taken from its own pages and our grades.

In Slack it asks before anything consequential.
From our grade for ease of use
  1. 1

Best for automations on a flat price, with no credits

Twin builds what it calls AI employees: describe the job in plain words and it designs, tests and deploys an agent that runs on a schedule or when something happens in Gmail or Slack.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $29 a month

As its pricing page puts it: $29 per month (Plus).

  3. 3

    You can try it first

  4. 4

    It runs on Web

    Web.

  5. 5

    Agents built from a description

You describe an outcome in plain language and Twin designs, tests and deploys an agent for it. A library of 257 templates covers common jobs such as lead generation and monitoring.

  6. 6

    Schedules, webhooks and app events

Agents run on a schedule, when a webhook fires, or when something happens in a connected app, such as a new email in Gmail or a new message in Slack.

  7. 7

    Browser agent

When a site has no API, the agent works in a browser on an isolated cloud computer and pauses for you at login pages. The pricing page includes it from Pro.

  8. 8

    A 2.0 GPA, above 5 of 51

That is against the other AI agents we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Keep it

To replace Twin you would be making an AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card

Best for automations on a flat price, with no credits

Twin builds what it calls AI employees: describe the job in plain words and it designs, tests and deploys an agent that runs on a schedule or when something happens in Gmail or Slack. Plus is a flat $29 a month with no credits to count. But there's no free plan after the 7-day trial, the browser agent and lead finding wait at Pro for $149, it runs only in the browser and Slack, and each workspace connects one account per service.

SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyDPlus is a flat $29 a month with no credits to count, already the top of the band agent tools here sit in, against a $21.25 middle. Then comes the jump: the browser agent, lead prospecting, media generation and deep research all wait at Pro for $149, seven times that middle. Store starts at $399.
Free plan and trialCNo free plan at all. What you get is a 7-day trial on every new account with no card required, and then it's $29 a month. A week is enough to form a view, not enough to settle in.
FeaturesCThe basics are all here: describe an outcome and Twin designs, tests and deploys the agent, or start from 257 templates, with schedule, webhook and app-event triggers, Interfaces and a REST API. But the listing names a gap: one account per service per workspace, so a second Gmail needs another workspace.
Ease of useCNo rating on record. You write what you want in plain language or pick one of 257 templates, but you're still connecting accounts and deciding what needs approval. In Slack it asks before anything consequential.
Platforms and integrationsBThe browser and Slack, and that's all: the site lists no desktop or phone app. Connections are what lift it to B: Gmail, Slack, Notion, Google Sheets, HubSpot, Stripe, Airtable and Attio, with a documented REST API and an OpenAPI 3.1 schema.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Twin is for

  • Fits if a small business wants lead follow-up, reporting and inbox work run by agents
  • Works for agencies that run agents for clients and need a dashboard for each one

Who it is not for

  • Not for you if you want a free plan, as it's $29 a month once the 7-day trial ends
  • Pricey if you need the browser agent, lead prospecting, media generation or deep research, since those start at Pro for $149 a month
  • Tight if you juggle two Gmail or X accounts, because each workspace connects one account per service
  • Skip it if you want a desktop or phone app, as Twin runs only in the browser and in Slack
  • Watch out: Plus stops at 5 customer dashboards, and the plan built for client work, Store, starts at $399 a month

Good to know

Good for

  • Small businesses automating lead follow-up, reporting and inbox work
  • Agencies that run agents for clients, each with its own dashboard
  • Non-technical users who want automations without wiring up workflows

Worth knowing

  • There is no free plan: paid plans start at $29 a month after the 7-day trial.
  • The browser agent, lead prospecting, media generation and deep research reports are included only from Pro at $149 a month.
  • Each workspace can connect one account per service, so a second Gmail or X account needs a separate workspace.
  • Twin runs in the browser and in Slack; the site lists no desktop or mobile app.

Its grades against its category, and whether to keep it or make your own

5/51

Other AI agents it is graded above

Twin's GPA of 2.0 is higher than 5 of the 51 other AI agents we grade, and level with 6.

It stands best on platforms and integrations (B, above 5 of 51) and worst on value for money (D, above 0).

Its paid plans start at $29 a month, against a middle price of $21.25 for the category: 28 of the 44 others that charge start lower.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Twin you would be making an AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 40 of the 51 other AI agents grade higher. It costs $348 a year.

What you could make

  • Templates: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • An AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it.
  • Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
  • A builder that other people can use without writing code.
  • A tool that builds and hosts other apps.

What this rests on. Twin’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
