Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 2 of the 15 other browsers we grade

Wavebox is a Chromium-based desktop browser for macOS, Windows and Linux built around web apps rather than tabs. Apps are grouped in a sidebar and divided into Spaces, and several accounts of the same service, such as multiple Gmail or Slack logins, can stay signed in at once with unread badges and notifications. It is made by Bookry Ltd in the UK and sold as a subscription, with a limited free plan.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Wavebox, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for staying signed in to many accounts at once

Wavebox is a desktop browser built around web apps: several Gmail, Slack or Teams accounts stay signed in side by side, each with its own unread badge.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $8.33 a month

As its pricing page puts it: $8.33 per month, paid annually (Wavebox Pro).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Wavebox Basic: Work and Home spaces, 2 groups with 2 apps in each, 1 Chrome extension and 1 dashboard, with limited features.

  4. 4

    It runs on 3 platforms

    macOS, Windows and Linux.

  5. 5

    Apps, groups and Spaces

Web apps sit in a sidebar and are grouped much like apps on a phone, and Spaces keep separate setups for work, home or individual clients.

  6. 6

Several accounts signed in at once

Multiple accounts of the same service, such as Gmail, Slack, Microsoft Teams or Asana, stay signed in side by side without switching browsers or profiles.

  7. 7

    Unread badges and notifications

Apps show unread badges and desktop notifications, the Wavebox Mini menu lists what is new across accounts, and Focus Mode silences them for a while.

  8. 8

    A 2.2 GPA, above 2 of 15

That is against the other browsers we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

    Keep it

To replace Wavebox you would be making a web browser. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card

Best for staying signed in to many accounts at once

Wavebox is a desktop browser built around web apps: several Gmail, Slack or Teams accounts stay signed in side by side, each with its own unread badge. Pro works out at $8.33 a month paid annually, and the pricing page doesn't show what monthly billing costs. The free plan stops at 2 groups with 2 apps in each and 1 extension, there's no phone app, and the Mac build needs macOS 12 or later.

ToolGPA report cardWaveboxGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCPro is $8.33 a month paid annually, $99 for the year by the help centre's reckoning, which is dead on the middle of this category. Rambox does the same job for $70 a year, Shift charges $19.99 a month, so Wavebox sits between them. The pricing page won't tell you what monthly billing costs.
Free plan and trialCBasic gives you 2 groups with 2 apps in each, one extension and one dashboard, so four apps in total. Anyone with the problem Wavebox solves is over that on the first morning. New accounts get 7 days of Pro, no card.
FeaturesCIt covers its job: apps grouped in a sidebar, Spaces per client, several accounts of one service signed in together, unread badges, split panes, a tab strip per group, Chrome extensions and an AI assistant you can switch off. But keeping web apps signed in is a narrower job than a browser's.
Ease of useBNo rating on record, and not much asked of you: install the desktop app and the web apps group themselves rather like the ones on your phone, with a Mini menu listing what's new across accounts and Focus Mode to shut it all up for a while.
Platforms and integrationsCDesktop only, on Mac, Windows and Linux, with no mobile app listed anywhere, so what you set up never leaves the machine. Chrome Web Store extensions work, and 20-odd come built in. The Mac build wants macOS 12 or later.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Wavebox is for

  • Fits if you're a virtual assistant or agency working across lots of client accounts
  • Works for people signed in to several Gmail, Slack or Teams accounts at the same time

Who it is not for

  • Tight if you're staying free, with 2 groups of 2 apps, a single extension and one dashboard
  • Skip it if you want it on your phone, since no mobile app is listed
  • Not for you if you want to pay month by month and see the price first, as only annual rates are shown
  • Pricey if you're a team, at $150 a seat a year against $99 for Pro on your own
  • Watch out: the Mac version needs macOS 12 Monterey or later

Good to know

Good for

  • Virtual assistants and agencies working across many client accounts
  • People who live in several Gmail, Slack or Teams accounts at once
  • Teams that want a shared, pre-configured browser for new hires

Worth knowing

  • The free Basic plan stops at 2 groups with 2 apps in each, 1 extension and 1 dashboard.
  • The pricing page shows annual-billing rates only; monthly billing is offered, but its price is not listed there.
  • Wavebox is a desktop browser for macOS, Windows and Linux; no mobile app is listed.
  • The Mac version requires macOS 12 Monterey or later.

Part 04 · Standing

Where it stands

Its grades against its category, and whether to keep it or make your own

2/15

Other browsers it is graded above

Wavebox's GPA of 2.2 is higher than 2 of the 15 other browsers we grade.

It stands best on ease of use (B, above 4 of 15) and worst on free plan and trial (C, above 0).

Its paid plans start at $8.33 a month, against a middle price of $7.08 for the category: 4 of the 7 others that charge start lower.

On features, ease of use and platforms it scores 2.3 out of 4. 8 tools score higher and cost less.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Wavebox you would be making a web browser. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 13 of the 15 other browsers grade higher. It costs $99.96 a year.

What you could not

  • A web browser.
  • Apps for macOS, Windows and Linux that stay in step with each other.
  • It plugs into other products, Gmail, Slack and Microsoft Teams among them.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.

What this rests on. Wavebox’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
