Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 5 of the 14 other webinar and live streaming tools we grade

WebinarJam is a platform for live webinars, built around selling: registration pages with split testing, email and SMS reminders, pop-up offers during the session, polls, chat and automatic replays. Plans are set by attendees per webinar, hosts and session length. Automated (pre-recorded) webinars run in its sister product EverWebinar, which comes free with the Basic plan and up; both are sold by Genesis Digital, the company behind Kartra.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about WebinarJam, taken from its own pages and our grades.

There's a page builder with templates, but you'll be building sign-up pages, reminder sequences and offers before the first webinar.

The report card

Best for live sales webinars on a budget

WebinarJam is built for selling through live webinars: sign-up pages you can split test, email and text reminders, pop-up offers mid-session and automatic replays. Starter covers 100 attendees for $39 a month billed yearly, the cheapest 100-seat room among its rivals. But Starter sessions stop at an hour, and automated webinars need Basic.

Value for moneyBStarter is $39 a month billed annually ($49 by the month) for up to 100 attendees. That's the cheapest 100-seat room among the webinar tools it's up against, about half what Demio and Zoom Webinars charge. Sessions are capped at 1 hour, though.
Free plan and trialDNo free plan. The 14-day trial costs $1, so it needs a card, though it's generous: 500 attendees, 2 hosts and 2-hour webinars. Paid plans have a 30-day money-back guarantee.
FeaturesCSign-up pages with split tests, email and SMS reminders, timed offers, polls, a whiteboard, video injections and broadcasts to Facebook and YouTube. The gaps: sessions top out at 4 hours even on Enterprise, and Starter has no EverWebinar for automated webinars.
Ease of useCNo App Store rating on record. There's a page builder with templates, but you'll be building sign-up pages, reminder sequences and offers before the first webinar.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb only, with no desktop or phone app listed, but it connects to Kartra, ActiveCampaign, AWeber, Keap, GetResponse, Mailchimp, Twilio and Zapier.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who WebinarJam is for

  • Great if you sell courses or coaching through live webinars
  • Handy when you want reminders, offers and replays in one place
  • Good for Kartra users who'd like webinars from the same company

Who it is not for

  • Tight if your webinars run past an hour, which is Starter's limit
  • Skip it if you want to try it without handing over a card, as the trial is $1
  • Not for you if you need to run two webinars at the same time in one account

Good to know

Good for

  • Course creators and coaches selling through live webinars
  • Marketers who want offers, reminders and replays in one system
  • Kartra users who want webinars from the same company

Worth knowing

  • Sessions are capped at 1 hour on Starter and 4 hours even on Enterprise; WebinarJam suggests back-to-back sessions for longer events.
  • Automated webinars need EverWebinar, which is included from Basic up but not with Starter.
  • The trial costs $1 for 14 days; paid plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • WebinarJam advises against running two webinars at the same time in one account.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace WebinarJam you would be making live video to hundreds of people at once. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

It costs $468 a year.

What you could not

  • Live video to hundreds of people at once.
  • Splitting visitors between versions and telling you which won.
  • It plugs into other products, Kartra, ActiveCampaign and AWeber among them.
  • People on the other end: live sessions. No app builder makes those.

What this rests on. WebinarJam’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
