The report card
Best for a free slide tool with no ads
Zoho Show is a slide tool that's free for individuals, with no ads, real-time co-editing and PowerPoint files in and out, plus Apple TV and Android TV apps. Paying for it is the odd part: there's no Show plan, so teams buy Zoho WorkDrive, which starts at 3 users, or Zoho Workplace. Zoho's own list shows some PowerPoint features don't carry over, and there's no Linux app.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | Free for one person, and for a team it rides along with Zoho WorkDrive from $2.50 a user a month billed annually or Zoho Workplace from $3, against a $5.83 cheapest quarter and a $9.99 middle here. That's under 60% of the low end. WorkDrive plans do start at 3 users. |
| Free plan and trial | A | Free for individuals with no ads and no cap a normal user reaches: 100-plus templates, unlimited cloud storage, real-time collaboration, offline mode and the mobile and TV apps. Uploads top out at 500 MB a file, and that's the only wall. |
| Features | B | Covers the slide job: Zia drafts a deck from a short idea, co-editing comes with comments and slide locking, PowerPoint files go in and out, and a deck broadcasts to remote viewers or a TV. Zoho does publish a list of which PowerPoint features survive, so expect a few not to. |
| Ease of use | C | No App Store rating on record, and building the deck is still your job, template or no template. Zia drafting a first version from a short idea is the shortcut, and there are 100-plus templates to start from. |
| Platforms and integrations | A | Web, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, plus Apple TV and Android TV apps for presenting with your phone as the remote. Add-ons pull in YouTube, Giphy and X and live data from Zoho Analytics, Sprints and Survey. No Linux desktop app. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Zoho Show is for
- Fits if you want a free slide tool with no ads and unlimited cloud storage
- Works for teams already paying for Zoho WorkDrive or Zoho Workplace, who get it as part of that
Who it is not for
- Not for you if you're a team of 1 or 2 wanting the paid extras, as WorkDrive starts at 3 users and fewer means asking sales
- Skip it if you work on a Linux desktop, where Zoho Office offers just Writer and PDF Editor
- Tight if you need a shared brand asset library, which needs a WorkDrive or Workplace subscription
- Watch out: without a Zoho subscription the desktop apps cost $10 per device, and the page shows no billing period
- Watch out: Zoho publishes a list of which PowerPoint features carry over, so some won't, and uploads stop at 500 MB a file
Good to know
Good for
- Individuals who want a free slide tool without ads
- Teams already paying for Zoho WorkDrive or Zoho Workplace
- Presenting from a phone to an Apple TV or Android TV
Worth knowing
- There is no standalone paid Show plan; teams get it through a Zoho WorkDrive or Zoho Workplace subscription.
- WorkDrive plans start at 3 users; buying 1 or 2 seats means contacting Zoho's sales team.
- Desktop apps cover macOS and Windows only; on Linux, Zoho Office offers just Writer and PDF Editor.
- Organizations without a Zoho One, Workplace or WorkDrive subscription pay $10 per device for the desktop apps; the page does not show a billing period.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Zoho Show you could make: templates. What surrounds it you could not. The 6 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 3.4 is higher than 23 of the 24 other presentation tools we grade. It costs $30 a year.
What you could make
- Templates: an app builder makes this well.
What you could not
- A slide editor.
- Apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- Several people working in it at the same moment.
- It plugs into other products, YouTube, Giphy and X among them.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Zoho Show’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
