Artful Agenda vs Cozi

Artful Agenda

• Paper-planner fans who want covers, stickers and fonts on a digital calendar
• Seeing Google, iCloud and Outlook calendars in one decorated planner
• Planning meals, lists and tasks next to the week's events

Cozi

• Families who want a calendar, grocery list and meal plan in one account
• Households of up to 12 people sharing color-coded schedules
• Parents who want agenda emails sent to everyone in the family

Artful Agenda

• There is no free plan. After the trial it costs $39.99 a year, and only annual subscriptions are offered.
• The habit tracker, drawing mode, sticker uploads and custom color palette require Artful Plus at $49.99 a year.
• Microsoft Exchange calendars cannot be synced, and calendar sharing is set up in Google, iCloud or Outlook, not in the app.
• The US App Store listing shows the standard plan at both $39.99 and $44.99, so in-app pricing may differ from the website.

Cozi

• The free version shows ads and only lets you enter events for the next 30 days; Cozi Gold gives unlimited future calendar access.
• Month view on mobile, calendar search, change notifications and the birthday tracker need Cozi Gold.
• Everyone on an account signs in with one shared password and has full access to its data; Cozi offers no restricted-access option.
• Connections to Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar are read-only feeds, not two-way sync.

Artful Agenda

Calendar sync

Shows Google Calendar, Apple iCloud and Outlook calendars together in monthly, weekly and daily views, with repeating events and push reminders.

Paper-planner styling

Pick a cover design and a handwriting-style font, color code calendars and decorate pages with sticker packs. Some premium covers are sold in the app for $1.99.

Tasks and priorities

Monthly, weekly and daily task lists can be reordered by drag and drop and crossed off, with repeat, rollover and snooze options and task alarms.

Daily page extras

The day view includes meal planning, a water intake tracker and custom categories for tasks, notes or journaling, and it stays in step with the weekly and monthly views.

Custom lists

A lists section holds things like groceries, packing and gift ideas, with headings, check-off items and drag-and-drop ordering.

Artful Plus tools

The higher tier adds a habit tracker with streaks, uploads of your own sticker images, a saved color palette and stylus drawing on iPad and Android tablets.

Cozi

Color-coded family calendar

Each of up to 12 family members gets a name and a color. The calendar shows everyone at once or filters to one person, on a computer or a phone.

Reminders and agenda emails

Reminders arrive as push notifications or email, and each person can receive a daily or weekly agenda email. Free accounts get one reminder per attendee; Gold allows three.

Shopping and to-do lists

Shared grocery lists, chore lists and as many other lists as you want. The shopping list can be emailed to whoever is at the store.

Recipes and meal planning

Store recipes, plan dinners for the week and add a recipe's ingredients to the shopping list.

Cozi Today

A single daily view of upcoming appointments, current to-dos and recently added shopping list items.
