Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.8

GPA, above 28 of the 42 other time tracking apps we grade

ATracker is a personal time tracker for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android, with a web version for subscribers. A task starts or stops with one tap, and the log appears in list and calendar views and in pie charts, bar charts and goal progress reports. Tags group tasks and can also record numbers, such as glasses of water, so the app is used for habits and routines as well as work hours.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about ATracker, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Making a task takes seconds and one tap starts or stops it, and you can add a forgotten entry afterwards.
From our grade for ease of use
  1. 1

Best for logging your whole day with one tap

ATracker is a personal time tracker for your phone: tap a task to start it, tap again to stop, and a pie chart shows where your time went.

    What it costs

Paid plans start at $4.99 one-time for Pro on iOS ($2.99 on Android).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

    iOS, Android and Web.

  5. 5

    One-tap tracking

Creating a task takes seconds and one tap starts or stops it. The timer keeps running when the app is closed or the phone is asleep, and alarms can be set per activity.

  6. 6

History in list and calendar views

Every entry is stored and shown as a list or on a calendar. Entries can be edited afterwards, notes added, and time that was missed logged later.

  7. 7

    Charts and reports

Pie charts and bar charts show where time went by task or by tag. Reports can be shared, and Pro exports the underlying data as CSV.

  8. 8

The report card

Best for logging your whole day with one tap

ATracker is a personal time tracker for your phone: tap a task to start it, tap again to stop, and a pie chart shows where your time went. Pro is $4.99 once on iOS, but the free version has ads and limits the website never lists, sync and the web app need Premium at $2.99 a month on top of Pro, and there's no desktop app, no billing and no team.

ToolGPA report cardATrackerGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyAPro is a single $4.99 on iOS, $2.99 on Android, against roughly $80 for a year of the typical time tracker. Worth knowing that Premium, which brings sync and the web app, is $2.99 a month on top of that one-time purchase rather than instead of it.
Free plan and trialCThe free version has ads and, in the vendor's own words, restrictions, which the website never actually lists. What we do know is what Pro unlocks: unlimited tasks, advanced settings and data export. So assume you'll be paying the $4.99.
FeaturesCIt has timers that survive the app closing, list and calendar history you can edit after the fact, pie and bar charts, daily and weekly goals, and advanced tags that hold numbers so you can count books read. No billing, no team, no projects.
Ease of useB4.68 from about 3,200 App Store ratings, a whisker under our top mark. Making a task takes seconds and one tap starts or stops it, and you can add a forgotten entry afterwards.
Platforms and integrationsBiPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Android, with the web app for Premium subscribers only. No desktop app at all, Dropbox is the single integration on record, and the Apple Watch app, the home-screen widget and Dropbox sync are listed for iOS alone.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.8

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who ATracker is for

  • Fits if you want to log a whole day across work, study, exercise and downtime from your phone
  • Works for tracking habits and goals in the same app as your hours

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you want your data on two devices without a subscription, as sync is Premium only, on top of Pro
  • Not for you if you bill clients or run a team, because it's a personal tracker
  • Tight if you stay on the free version, which has ads and restrictions the website doesn't spell out
  • Too light for desk work, as there's no Mac or Windows app and the web app is for Premium only
  • Watch out: the Apple Watch app, the home-screen widget and Dropbox sync are listed for iOS only

Good to know

Good for

  • People logging a whole day across work, study, exercise and leisure
  • Phone-first users who want to switch tasks with a single tap
  • Tracking habits and goals alongside time

Worth knowing

  • Premium sits on top of Pro: the website says subscribers must first have upgraded, and the subscription is managed on the iOS or Android device.
  • The web app and sync between devices are only in the Premium subscription.
  • Apple Watch support, the home-screen widget and Dropbox sync are listed for iOS only.
  • The website calls the free version free to use with restrictions without listing its limits.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Your call

A time tracker at its plainest is a start button, a stop button and a table of hours.

You could make the core of ATracker for yourself: time tracking, goals, habit tracking and reports. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. At $4.99, paid once, it costs less than the weekend it would take to replace, which is the argument for keeping it.

What you could make

  • Time tracking, goals, habit tracking and reports: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app.

What this rests on. ATracker’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
