Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.8
GPA, above 44 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps we grade
Cozi is a family organizer that puts a color-coded shared calendar, shopping lists, to-do lists and a recipe box in one account for up to 12 family members. It runs in a browser and as iOS and Android apps. The free version is supported by ads and limits how far ahead events can be entered; Cozi Gold removes the ads and that limit for the whole family, and Cozi Max adds AI tools for importing events and planning meals.
To get you started, here are 10 things to know about Cozi, taken from its own pages and our grades.
One reviewer's teenage daughter suggested it, and another family's babysitter entered the whole summer.
- 1
Best for busy families sharing one calendar
If you need two-way sync or kid-proof settings, look elsewhere.
- 2
Paid plans start at $3.25 a month when paid by the year
As its pricing page puts it: $39 per year for the whole family (Cozi Gold).
- 3
There is a free plan
Free with ads: shared calendar, to-do and shopping lists and recipes for the whole family. Events can be entered for the next 30 days, with one reminder per attendee.
- 4
It runs on 3 platforms
Web, iOS and Android.
- 5
Color-coded family calendar
Each of up to 12 family members gets a name and a color. The calendar shows everyone at once or filters to one person, on a computer or a phone.
- 6
Reminders and agenda emails
Reminders arrive as push notifications or email, and each person can receive a daily or weekly agenda email. Free accounts get one reminder per attendee; Gold allows three.
- 7
Shopping and to-do lists
Shared grocery lists, chore lists and as many other lists as you want. The shopping list can be emailed to whoever is at the store.
- 8
Refunds: 30 days
Thirty days to get your money back is a good deal, and cancelling a subscription bought on the website is something you do yourself. Two things keep it off an A.
- 9
A 2.8 GPA, above 44 of 74
That is against the other calendar and scheduling apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 10
Keep it
The plain part of Cozi you could make: calendar and tasks. What surrounds it you could not. The 3 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

The report card
Best for busy families sharing one calendar
Cozi puts the family calendar, shopping list, chores and meal plans in one shared app, and one $39-a-year Gold plan covers up to 12 people. The free version shows ads and only takes events 30 days ahead, links to Google or Apple calendars are read-only feeds that can lag a day, and everyone shares one password with full access. If you need two-way sync or kid-proof settings, look elsewhere.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Gold is $39 a year for the whole family, up to 12 people, so $3.25 a month in total against a $6 middle per person in this category. Part of what it unlocks, though, like month view on your phone, is stuff free calendars give you anyway. |
| Free plan and trial | C | The calendar, lists and recipes are free for everyone in the family, but you can only add events for the next 30 days. The dentist in six weeks won't go in. Add ads and one reminder per person and you'll hit the wall quickly. |
| Features | C | Color-coded calendar, shopping and to-do lists, chores, recipes and a meal planner, all shared. The gaps are ones the site owns up to: other calendars connect as read-only feeds only, access is all or nothing, and you can't attach a photo or file to an event. |
| Ease of use | A | 4.8 from about 400,000 App Store ratings. One reviewer's teenage daughter suggested it, and another family's babysitter entered the whole summer. Undoing things, like clearing a recipe off the list, is fiddlier. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | iPhone, Android and any browser, with links to Google, Outlook and Apple calendars. There's no desktop app and no API, though, and those three links are read-only feeds that can lag by hours. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Cozi is for
- Fits if you want one calendar the whole family can see, color-coded by person
- Works for families of up to 12, since one $39 a year Gold subscription covers everyone
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want two-way sync with Google or Apple Calendar, since the feeds are read-only and can lag a day
- Tight if you're staying free: ads, events only 30 days ahead, one reminder per person and no month view on phones
- Not for you if the kids shouldn't be able to change everything, as everyone shares one password with full access
- Too light for work teams, with no file or photo attachments, no desktop app and no API
- Watch out: the Gold trial only exists on the website, and the AI tools cost $79 a year on Max
Good to know
Good for
- Families who want a calendar, grocery list and meal plan in one account
- Households of up to 12 people sharing color-coded schedules
- Parents who want agenda emails sent to everyone in the family
Worth knowing
- The free version shows ads and only lets you enter events for the next 30 days; Cozi Gold gives unlimited future calendar access.
- Month view on mobile, calendar search, change notifications and the birthday tracker need Cozi Gold.
- Everyone on an account signs in with one shared password and has full access to its data; Cozi offers no restricted-access option.
- Connections to Google Calendar, Outlook and Apple Calendar are read-only feeds, not two-way sync.

Cozi's GPA of 2.8 is higher than 44 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps we grade, and level with 12.
It stands best on ease of use (A, above 62 of 74) and worst on free plan and trial (C, above 3).
Its paid plans start at $3.25 a month when paid by the year, against a middle price of $6 for the category: 11 of the 52 others that charge start lower.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Cozi you could make: calendar and tasks. What surrounds it you could not. The 3 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
It costs $39 a year.
What you could make
- Calendar and tasks: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
What this rests on. Cozi’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
Part 05 · Refunds
After you pay
Getting your money back, getting out, and getting help
What happens once you have paid: whether you can get your money back, how to leave, and how to reach a person when something goes wrong. Each is graded from Cozi’s own terms and help pages.
Refunds and cancelling
Good · checked Oct 18, 2026
Thirty days to get your money back is a good deal, and cancelling a subscription bought on the website is something you do yourself. Two things keep it off an A. The refund is not a button: you have to write in and ask, and the terms set the clock from the date of purchase. Buy through the App Store and it is Apple's call, not Cozi's. Cancelling itself is painless, and nothing in the account is deleted.
- Refund window
- 30 days
- How you cancel
- Yourself, in settings
- Getting your money back
The terms say that for a subscription not bought through the Apple App Store you may request a full refund within 30 days after the date of purchase, and that you submit the request by contacting Cozi through its contact page. For App Store purchases they say In Tandem, which runs Cozi, cannot process refunds and that requests go to Apple under Apple's own refund policy.
Stated on cozi.com- How to cancel Cozi
The FAQ says a subscription bought on the Cozi website is cancelled on the website when signed in, one bought in the iOS app is cancelled through Apple and one bought in the Android app through Google Play. The terms add that for a website purchase you can stop the auto-renewal in your account settings or by contacting customer service, and they spell out the Apple and Google Play routes as well.
Stated on cozi.com- What you keep afterwards
The FAQ says cancelling Cozi Gold keeps the Gold benefits until the end of the subscription term, after which the account reverts to the free version with all account data fully intact, and that cancelling deletes nothing. Deleting the account is separate: the terms say that wipes every family member's data, with 14 days in which you can ask Cozi to reverse it before it becomes permanent.
Stated on cozi.com- Renewals
The terms say a subscription renews automatically for successive periods of the same length as the one first chosen, and that the auto-renewal is cancelled in your account settings, through Apple or through Google Play, depending on where you bought it. They add that you may have to cancel before a free trial ends to avoid being charged. No reminder before a renewal is mentioned.
Stated on cozi.com
In your favour
- Thirty days to change your mind, with a full refund, if you bought on the website.
- Cancel a website subscription yourself from your account settings.
- Cancelling keeps Gold running to the end of the term you paid for.
- Nothing is deleted: the account simply drops back to the free version with all your data.
Watch out for
- The refund is not automatic. You have to write in and ask for it.
- The 30 days run from the date of purchase, so a renewal you miss may be a year lost.
- Bought it in the App Store? Apple decides the refund and Cozi says it cannot.
- The subscription renews by itself and no page promises a reminder first.
Customer support
Ordinary · checked Oct 18, 2026
You write in and wait. Cozi's FAQ says plainly that there is no phone support, only email, and promises to reply as quickly as possible, which is not a promise you can hold anyone to. There are no hours and no stated reply time anywhere we could read. What is there is decent: a long FAQ, getting-started guides, and a priority queue if you pay for Gold. That is an ordinary C.
Ways to get help
Email
The FAQ says Cozi does not offer phone support but will reply as quickly as possible to all incoming email messages, and asks you to include the email address on your account so the team can find it.
Stated on cozi.comContact form or ticket
The support page sends you to a Contact Us page for anything the FAQ does not answer, and the FAQ points to the same page for account problems. Our reader saw only a loading shell there, so the form itself was not read.
Stated on cozi.comHelp centre
A long FAQ covering accounts, the calendar, lists, apps, billing and subscriptions, plus getting-started guides for each part of the product, all open without logging in.
Stated on cozi.com
Not listed on Cozi’s pages: live chat, phone.
- When people answer
Its pages do not say.
- How fast it says it replies
Its pages do not say.
- What depends on your plan
The support page says Cozi Gold subscribers go to the front of the line with priority email-based customer support. The FAQ lists priority support among the Gold features. Neither page says what the queue means in time, and no page read describes anything different for Cozi Max.
Stated on cozi.com
In your favour
- Free users can write in too, not only subscribers.
- The FAQ is long and answers the awkward questions about billing and cancelling.
- Paying for Gold moves you to the front of the email queue.
Watch out for
- No phone support at all, and Cozi says so itself.
- No hours and no reply time are stated: the FAQ only promises to answer as quickly as possible.
- There is no live chat, so every problem goes through email and a wait.
What these two grades rest on. Read on 18 October 2026: Cozi's terms of use, its FAQ page including the billing and subscription section, its support page and its plan comparison page. The Contact Us page returned only a loading shell to our reader, so the form itself was not read. Nobody here cancelled a plan or contacted its support. They are graded apart from the five that make the GPA. How we grade refunds and support.
