Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.6
GPA, above 48 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade
Daily Checklist is a to-do app for iPhone and Android built around a list for each day: tasks are added to today, checked off with a tap, and the view swipes between yesterday, today and tomorrow. Lists are split into unlimited tabs, and a task can repeat and carry a priority, a note and an emoji. No login is needed and data stays on the device. The download is free with ads, but reviews and a developer reply on Google Play describe that as a trial, after which the one-time Premium purchase is required.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Daily Checklist, taken from its own pages and our grades.
Nothing syncs, and there's no web or desktop version.
- 1

Daily Checklist gives you a list for today, and a swipe takes you to yesterday or tomorrow, with no login.
- 2

- 5
A list for each day
Today's tasks are checked off with one tap, a swipe moves between yesterday, today and tomorrow, and a task can be copied to today or tomorrow.
- 6
Unlimited tabs
Lists are separated into as many tabs as needed, such as Work, Shopping and Study, and each tab can hold its own notes.
- 7
Recurring tasks
A task can repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly, and then appears on the list automatically on each due day.

The report card
Best for a simple tick-off list for each day
Daily Checklist gives you a list for today, and a swipe takes you to yesterday or tomorrow, with no login. Premium is $4.99 once on the US App Store, $5.99 on Google Play. But the stores list it as free while a developer reply calls that a trial, and Google Play reviewers say it stops after about a week without Premium. Nothing syncs, and there's no web or desktop version.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | $4.99 once on the US App Store, $5.99 on Google Play, and it's the only purchase there is. A year on this category's middle subscription is nearer $48, so you're paying about one month of a rival, for good. |
| Free plan and trial | C | There's no lasting free version. The download is free with ads for a trial whose length the listings never state, and Google Play reviewers put it at about a week. No card asked for, since Premium is an in-app purchase. |
| Features | C | The basics: a list per day, unlimited tabs, repeats from daily to yearly, three priority levels, notifications, CSV export. The gap the listing names itself is sync. There isn't any, so a second device means backup and restore. |
| Ease of use | B | No store rating on record, but there's nothing to set up: no account, no login. Add a task to today, tap to tick it, swipe for tomorrow. That's most of the app. |
| Platforms and integrations | C | Phones and tablets only, iPhone and Android, with no web or desktop version and no integrations at all. Data stays on the device, though you can carry it between iPhone and Android with a backup file. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Daily Checklist is for
- Fits if you plan one day at a time and just want to tick things off
- Works for people who'd pay $4.99 once to keep work, shopping and study on separate tabs
Who it is not for
- Not for you if you want a free app for good, because the free download is a trial of unstated length
- Skip it if you need the same list on two devices at once, as nothing syncs live
- Too light for projects or shared lists, since it's a personal day list
- Watch out: the free trial shows ads, and reviewers say it stops working after about a week
- Not for you if you want it on a computer, as there's no web or desktop version
Good to know
Good for
- People who plan one day at a time and check tasks off
- Keeping work, shopping and study lists in separate tabs
- Users who want a to-do app with no account and data kept on the device
Worth knowing
- The store listings say Free with in-app purchases but do not explain the trial; Google Play reviews from 2025 and 2026 say the app stops working after about a week without Premium.
- There is no live sync: data stays on the device and moves to another one only through backup and restore.
- It is for phones and tablets only. The site names iPhone and Android, and there is no web or desktop version.
- Premium costs $4.99 on the US App Store and $5.99 on Google Play.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Your call
A to-do list at its plainest is tasks with dates, repeats and a box to tick.
You could make the core of Daily Checklist for yourself: tasks. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. At $4.99, paid once, it costs less than the weekend it would take to replace, which is the argument for keeping it.
What you could make
- Tasks: an app builder makes this well.
What you could not
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
What this rests on. Daily Checklist’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
