Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 48 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade

Doneit is a task and project manager for Apple devices that shows the same tasks as a list, a grid, a kanban board or a timeline. Tasks are grouped into categories and folders, take subtasks, reminders and notes, and sync through iCloud and with the system Reminders app. The app is free with up to two categories, and Doneit Premium adds unlimited categories, the timeline and advanced board views, attachments and iCloud sharing.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Doneit, taken from its own pages and our grades.

It can import your existing reminders, so you don't start on an empty board.
From our grade for ease of use
  1. 1

Best for kanban boards on Apple devices

Doneit shows the same tasks four ways: a list, a grid, a kanban board or a timeline, and it stays in step with Apple Reminders both ways.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $1.25 a month when paid by the year

As its pricing page puts it: $3.99 per month, or $14.99 per year.

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Up to 2 categories, unlimited tasks and subtasks, list, grid and basic board views, reminders, widgets, iCloud sync and sync with the Reminders app.

  4. 4

    It runs on 2 platforms

    iOS and macOS.

  5. 5

List, grid, board and timeline views

A task list can be displayed as a list, a grid, a kanban board or a timeline. The App Store listing puts the timeline and the advanced board view under Premium.

  6. 6

    Categories, folders and attributes

Tasks sit in categories, with folders, smart categories, tags, priorities, statuses and custom attributes available in Premium for finer organization.

  7. 7

    List actions

A Premium setting that defines what happens to a task when it is added to a particular task list, so routine changes are applied automatically.

  8. 8

    A 2.6 GPA, above 48 of 123

That is against the other to-do list apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

The report card

Best for kanban boards on Apple devices

Doneit shows the same tasks four ways: a list, a grid, a kanban board or a timeline, and it stays in step with Apple Reminders both ways. Premium is $14.99 a year or $29.99 once. But the free version allows only 2 categories, the timeline, tags and sharing need Premium, it's Apple devices only, and the Assist feature needs a 26-series OS with Apple Intelligence on.

ToolGPA report cardDoneitGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyA$14.99 a year works out at $1.25 a month, under 60% of this category's lowest quarter at $2.42, and $29.99 buys it outright for less than a year of the $3.99 middle plan. Monthly at $3.99 is the one to avoid.
Free plan and trialCFree gets unlimited tasks and subtasks, the list, grid and basic board views, reminders, widgets and iCloud sync. But 2 categories is the cap. Work and home and you're full.
FeaturesBIt covers the job: four views of the same tasks, folders, smart categories, tags, priorities, custom attributes, attachments, two-way Reminders sync and tasks pushed to Calendar. Doneit Assist needs macOS or iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence on, mind.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record, and there's a structure to build before it earns its keep: categories, then folders, then which of the four views you want. It can import your existing reminders, so you don't start on an empty board.
Platforms and integrationsCApple only: iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, wired into iCloud, Reminders, Calendar, Siri and Shortcuts. No Android, Windows or web version, and sharing a category works only with other iCloud users.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Doneit is for

  • Fits if you plan personal projects on a kanban board and own Apple devices
  • Works for people who want tasks kept in step with Apple Reminders and would rather pay $29.99 once

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you use Android or Windows, as it's Apple devices only
  • Tight if you're staying free, because you only get 2 categories
  • Not for you if you wanted the timeline, tags, attachments or custom repeats for free, since all need Premium
  • Watch out: sharing a category works only with other iCloud users, and only on Premium
  • Watch out: Doneit Assist needs iOS, iPadOS or macOS 26 on a device with Apple Intelligence turned on

Good to know

Good for

  • Apple users who plan personal projects on a kanban board
  • People who want tasks kept in step with Apple Reminders
  • Buyers who prefer a lifetime purchase to a subscription

Worth knowing

  • Apple platforms only: the vendor lists iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, with no Android, Windows or web version.
  • The free version allows up to 2 categories; the timeline view, list actions, attachments, tags, priorities and custom attributes need Premium.
  • Sharing a category with other iCloud users and recurring reminders with custom repeat intervals are Premium features.
  • Doneit Assist needs iOS 26, iPadOS 26 or macOS 26 or later on a device with Apple Intelligence turned on.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Doneit you could make: tasks, kanban boards and Gantt & timelines. What surrounds it you could not. The 5 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

It costs $14.99 a year.

What you could make

  • Tasks, kanban boards and Gantt & timelines: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS and iOS that stay in step with each other.
  • It plugs into other products, iCloud, Apple Reminders and Apple Calendar among them.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Doneit’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
