Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 19 of the 42 other time tracking apps we grade

Everhour is a team time tracker built around integrations with project management tools: its timer controls and time totals appear inside tools such as Asana, Jira, Linear and Trello. Tracked hours feed project budgets with alerts, reports, client invoices, expenses, time off and a resource planning schedule. Pricing is a single paid Team plan with every feature, plus a limited free plan for up to 5 seats.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Everhour, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for tracking time inside Asana, Jira or Trello

Everhour puts a timer inside the project tool your team already uses, like Asana, Jira, Linear or Trello, and the hours feed budgets, reports and client invoices.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $8.50 a month for each person

As its pricing page puts it: $8.50 per seat / month, billed yearly (5-seat minimum).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Free for up to 5 seats with limited features: time tracking, projects and tasks, reports and data export. Integrations are not included.

  4. 4

    It runs on 4 platforms

Web, macOS, iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.

  5. 5

    Tracking inside other tools

Native integrations and the browser extension embed timer controls in tools such as Asana, Jira, Linear and Trello, so time is logged against existing tasks. Paid plan only.

  6. 6

    Timer, timesheets and clock-in

Start and stop a timer or log hours afterwards in day and week views. Clock-in and clock-out records working hours and breaks.

  7. 7

    Budgets and alerts

Set fixed-fee or recurring budgets on projects and receive email alerts when spending reaches the thresholds you choose.

  8. 8

    A 2.6 GPA, above 19 of 42

That is against the other time tracking apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

The report card

Best for tracking time inside Asana, Jira or Trello

Everhour puts a timer inside the project tool your team already uses, like Asana, Jira, Linear or Trello, and the hours feed budgets, reports and client invoices. But the free plan has no integrations, which are the reason to pick it, the paid plan bills at least 5 seats at $8.50, the desktop app is Mac only, and unused annual months aren't refunded.

ToolGPA report cardEverhourGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyC$8.50 a seat a month paid yearly, or $10 monthly, with every feature in the one plan. That's the upper half of what time trackers charge, and the 5-seat minimum makes it worse: three of you still pay for five, so $42.50 a month.
Free plan and trialCFree for up to 5 seats, with time tracking, projects, reports and export. But no integrations, and integrations are the entire reason to pick Everhour, so the free plan is missing the point of it. The 14-day trial needs no card.
FeaturesBTimer, timesheets and clock-in, project budgets with email alerts, scheduled reports, invoices built from tracked time, expenses with receipts, a resource schedule and time off. The job is covered, and most of it shows up inside Asana or Jira rather than a separate app.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record. The timer button lands on tasks you already have, but first you connect the project tool, import projects and set rates and budgets, so there's a setup day before any of it reports anything.
Platforms and integrationsAWeb, iOS, Android, a Mac desktop app and a browser extension, plus an API and links to Asana, Jira, Linear, ClickUp, GitHub, QuickBooks and Xero. The desktop app is Mac only for now, with Windows listed as coming soon.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Everhour is for

  • Fits if your team already works in Asana, Jira, Linear, Trello or ClickUp
  • Works for agencies that watch project budgets and bill clients from tracked hours

Who it is not for

  • Pricey if you're a team of two or three, because the paid plan bills at least 5 seats
  • Tight if you stay free, since the free plan leaves out every integration
  • Skip it if you want a Windows desktop app, which is only listed as coming soon
  • Watch out: annual payment is a commitment, and unused months aren't refunded if you cancel

Good to know

Good for

  • Teams that manage work in Asana, Jira, Linear, Trello or ClickUp
  • Agencies that watch project budgets and bill clients from tracked time
  • Teams of up to 5 that only need basic time tracking

Worth knowing

  • The free plan covers up to 5 seats with limited features and no integrations.
  • The Team plan bills a minimum of 5 seats, so a team of 2 or 3 still pays for 5.
  • The desktop app is for macOS only; the vendor lists Windows as coming soon.
  • Annual payment is a commitment: unused months are not refunded on cancellation.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Everhour you could make: time tracking, reports, invoicing and tasks. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

It costs $102 a year.

What you could make

  • Time tracking, reports, invoicing and tasks: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
  • It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
  • It plugs into other products, Asana, Jira and Linear among them, and has an API.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Everhour’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
