Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.0

GPA, above 1 of the 65 other focus apps we grade

Flow Club is a virtual coworking service built around body doubling: members book live video sessions and work quietly alongside a small group. A volunteer host opens each session by asking everyone to state their goals, runs a timer with optional focus music, and closes with a short debrief. Sessions last 30 minutes to 3 hours and run around the clock in a web browser.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Flow Club, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Book a slot and you get an email and a calendar invite, then turn up and say your goal.

The report card

Best for a booked hour of work with an audience

Flow Club is an appointment to get work done: book a video session, tell a small group what you're about to do, work on mute with a timer running, and report back at the end. It's $40 a month or $400 a year with no free plan, when its listed rivals mostly sit between $8 and $19, hosts are volunteers, and there's no mobile app.

ToolGPA report cardFlow ClubGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyD$40 a month, or $33.33 if you pay for the year. Against the coworking services Flow Club lists as rivals that's double Flown's $19 and four times Focusmate's $8, and your host is a volunteer member. Students, non-profit workers and anyone hosting 10 sessions a month get 50% off.
Free plan and trialCNo free plan at all. You get a 7-day trial and it doesn't ask for a card, which is enough sessions to know whether an audience helps.
FeaturesCIt does hosted coworking completely: 30 minutes to 3 hours, up to 9 people, 2,500 sessions a week, goals read out at the start, everyone's tasks on screen, chat-only rooms if you'd rather not speak. But that's a smaller job than a focus app does. No blocker, no stats, nothing between sessions.
Ease of useBBook a slot and you get an email and a calendar invite, then turn up and say your goal. There's nothing to install or configure. No rating on record to check it against.
Platforms and integrationsCA web browser on a computer, and the pages we read mention no mobile app. Google Calendar is the one thing it connects to.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Flow Club is for

  • Fits if you only start a task once someone is expecting you to
  • Works for people who keep odd hours, since sessions run around the clock

Who it is not for

  • Pricey if you'd only drop in now and then, at $40 a month against $8 for Focusmate
  • Skip it if you want to join from your phone, as no mobile app is mentioned
  • Not for you if you want a paid coach running things, because hosts are volunteer members
  • Tight if you like bigger rooms, as sessions are capped at 9 people
  • Watch out: discounts don't stack, so the 50% student or non-profit rate rules out the host incentive

Good to know

Good for

  • Remote workers and students who focus better with other people present
  • People with ADHD who rely on body doubling
  • Anyone who needs an appointment and an audience to start a task

Worth knowing

  • There is no free plan: after the 7-day trial, membership is $40 a month or $400 a year.
  • Sessions are video calls in a web browser, joined from a computer; the pages read mention no mobile app.
  • Hosts are volunteer members rather than paid coaches, and sessions are capped at 9 people.
  • Discounts do not stack: a student or non-profit discount rules out the host incentive.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Flow Club you would be making video calls. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 61 of the 65 other focus apps grade higher. It costs $399.96 a year.

What you could not

  • Video calls.
  • A library of sound you would have to license.

What this rests on. Flow Club’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
