Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.8
GPA, above 10 of the 15 other remote desktop apps we grade
Getscreen.me is remote desktop software that you control from a web browser, a desktop dashboard app or a Chrome extension, with agent apps for Windows, macOS, Linux and Android. It is mainly for IT administration and help desk support of other people's computers, priced per technician plus a small charge per device. A free plan and a one-time personal licence cover reaching your own machines.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Getscreen.me, taken from its own pages and our grades.
Just know the bill grows with every computer you keep, and there's no iPhone or iPad agent.
- 1
Best for browser-based IT support on a small budget
There's a real free plan for two of your own devices, too.
- 2
Paid plans start at $4.17 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $4.17 per technician / month, billed annually, plus a charge per device.
- 3
There is a free plan
Permanent access to 2 devices for one technician, with unlimited session time, file transfers up to 50 MB, multi-monitor support and chat. No Quick Support sessions for clients.
- 4
It runs on 5 platforms
Web, Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, with a browser extension too.
- 5
Permanent access
Install the agent on a computer once and reach it later from any browser without anyone at the other end, with Wake-on-LAN, reboot during a session and black screen mode.
- 6
Quick Support
Send a client an invitation link or code for a one-off session, without sharing passwords. Unlimited on Advanced and Enterprise; the lifetime licence allows 10 invitations a day.
- 7
Terminal mode and file manager
Run commands and scripts on a remote machine without interrupting the person using it, and browse, upload and download its files during a session.
- 8
A 2.8 GPA, above 10 of 15
That is against the other remote desktop apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
To replace Getscreen.me you would be making a fast, secure link to another computer through any network. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for browser-based IT support on a small budget
Getscreen.me lets a technician reach and fix computers from any browser, with nothing to install on their own side, and it's the cheapest paid support tool among the rivals we have prices for. There's a real free plan for two of your own devices, too. Just know the bill grows with every computer you keep, and there's no iPhone or iPad agent.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | Advanced, the first plan with one-off Quick Support sessions for clients, is $6.67 per technician a month billed annually, plus $1.50 a year for each permanent device. For the same job that's less than Zoho Assist, Splashtop or TeamViewer charge one technician. Only RustDesk's free client undercuts it. |
| Free plan and trial | B | The free plan never runs out: one technician, 2 devices, no limit on session time, multi-monitor and chat. That's enough to reach two of your own computers for good. Supporting clients is where it stops, as Quick Support isn't included, though there's a 14-day business trial. |
| Features | C | Permanent access with Wake-on-LAN, Quick Support by link, terminal mode, a file manager, branding and an HTTP API. The gaps it lists itself: there's no iPhone or iPad agent, so those can only connect through a browser, and Standard leaves out Quick Support. |
| Ease of use | B | No App Store rating on record. You work from a browser tab with nothing to install on your end, and a client joins a session from an invitation link or code, so there's very little to set up. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and a Chrome extension, plus an HTTP API and plugins for Telegram, LiveChat and Jira Service Desk. No iPhone or iPad app, which keeps it off an A. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Getscreen.me is for
- Great if you support clients' computers and want to do it all from a browser
- Handy when you only need two of your own computers and never want to pay
- Good for a small IT shop that wants one-off support sessions at a low price
Who it is not for
- Pricey if you keep permanent access to lots of computers, since every device adds a yearly charge
- Skip it if you need to reach iPhones or iPads, as there's no iOS agent
- Not for you if you want Quick Support on the cheapest plan, as Standard leaves it out
Good to know
Good for
- IT teams supporting staff or clients from a browser, without installing a viewer
- Managed service providers who want to pay per technician and per device
- Individuals who want a one-time licence for up to 50 of their own devices
- Large organizations that need to host the remote access server themselves
Worth knowing
- Paid plans charge per device on top of each technician seat, so the bill grows with the number of computers you keep permanent access to.
- The Standard plan does not include Quick Support for one-off client sessions; that needs Advanced or above.
- The self-hosted server is sold only on the Enterprise plan with annual billing, with a minimum of 500 devices or 10 technicians.
- There is an Android agent but no iOS agent is listed; iPhones and iPads can connect only through a browser.

What you could not
- A fast, secure link to another computer through any network.
