Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.6
GPA, above 13 of the 20 other cold outreach tools we grade
Instantly is a cold email platform that sends multi-step campaigns from as many connected mailboxes as you like and warms each of them up. Outreach plans are priced by emails sent and contacts uploaded rather than by seat or inbox. A B2B lead database, AI agents that find leads and answer replies, and a CRM are sold as separate credit and add-on subscriptions.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Instantly, taken from its own pages and our grades.
Warm-up is included, so you can spread the load without paying extra.
- 1
Best for cold email from as many inboxes as you like
Instantly is built for sending a lot of cold email from a lot of inboxes, and it doesn't charge you per inbox or per person.
- 2
Paid plans start at $37.60 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $37.6 per month for 5,000 emails, billed yearly ($47 monthly).
- 3
You can try it first
14-day free trial, no card required, with 250 uploaded contacts and 1,000 emails
- 4
It runs on Web
Web.
- 5
Unlimited sending accounts and warmup
Every Outreach plan connects and warms up any number of email accounts from any provider; the plan limits emails sent and contacts uploaded instead.
- 6
Sequences and A/Z testing
Multi-step campaigns with sending schedules, a global block list and bounce detection. Growth gets basic A/Z testing; Hypergrowth and above test up to 26 variants.
- 7
Unibox
Replies from every connected account land in one inbox. It is preview-only on Growth; replying in the app and custom reply labels start at Hypergrowth.
- 8
A 2.6 GPA, above 13 of 20
That is against the other cold outreach tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
To replace Instantly you would be making newsletters sent to thousands of people that still reach the inbox. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for cold email from as many inboxes as you like
Instantly is built for sending a lot of cold email from a lot of inboxes, and it doesn't charge you per inbox or per person. Warm-up is included, so you can spread the load without paying extra. It's email only, though: there are no LinkedIn steps, and lead data and the AI agents are a separate credits bill.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | A team of five needs Hypergrowth, since Growth's 1,000-contact total and read-only inbox won't stretch that far: $77.60 a month billed yearly for everyone, about $15.52 a head. That's under 60% of the cheaper quarter's $32.50 in this category. |
| Free plan and trial | C | No free plan, but a 14-day trial with no card. It stops at 250 uploaded contacts and 1,000 emails, which is enough to warm up and send a small first campaign, and not much more. |
| Features | C | The email side is complete: unlimited inboxes and warm-up, multi-step campaigns, A/Z tests, one inbox for replies and automations. But there are no LinkedIn steps at all, and lead search and the AI agents need a separate credits plan from $9 a month. |
| Ease of use | C | No App Store rating on record. You'll be connecting mailboxes and waiting on warm-up before the first real send, and actually replying from the Unibox needs Hypergrowth. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web only, but with HubSpot, Slack, Zapier, Findymail, RB2B and ChatGPT links, webhooks from Hypergrowth and a public API. No phone or desktop app on record. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Instantly is for
- Great if you send volume from lots of mailboxes and don't want to pay per inbox
- Handy when five people share one account, as nothing here is priced per seat
- Good for teams that want warm-up included rather than bought per mailbox
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want LinkedIn steps in the same sequence, as Instantly is email only
- Pricey if you need lead data too, since credits start at $9 a month and the CRM at $47
- Tight if you stay on Growth, with 1,000 contacts in total and a read-only inbox
Good to know
Good for
- Agencies and teams spreading volume across many mailboxes
- Senders who want warmup included rather than bought per inbox
- Buyers who want a lead database and sending in one account
Worth knowing
- There is no free plan; the 14-day trial stops at 250 uploaded contacts and 1,000 emails.
- The uploaded-contact limit is a total across all campaigns, not a monthly one. On Hypergrowth and up, 25,000 more contacts cost $87 a month.
- Lead data and the AI agents need an Instantly Credits plan, from $9 a month for 150 credits; the CRM is a separate add-on from $47 a month.
- Replying from Unibox, webhooks and full A/Z testing need Hypergrowth, $97 a month billed monthly.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Instantly you would be making newsletters sent to thousands of people that still reach the inbox. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
It costs $451.20 a year.
What you could not
- Newsletters sent to thousands of people that still reach the inbox.
- An AI agent, with the models and the safeguards behind it.
- Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
