Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.4
GPA, above 17 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade
Morgen is a calendar and daily planner that brings several calendars and task tools into one app. Tasks from Notion, Todoist, ClickUp, Linear and other sources are time-blocked by dragging them into the calendar or by approving a plan proposed by its AI Planner. It also includes booking links, calendar automations and a REST API, and runs on desktop, web and mobile.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Morgen, taken from its own pages and our grades.
Its AI Planner proposes a plan and waits for your OK before it schedules anything, and it runs on every platform, Linux included.
- 1
Best for all your calendars and task apps in one plan
Morgen pulls your calendars and your task apps into one place, then helps you time-block the day.
- 2
Paid plans start at $15 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $15 per month, billed yearly.
- 3
You can try it first
14-day free trial with full access, no credit card required. Refunds are available in the first 30 days.
- 4
It runs on 6 platforms
Web, macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android.
- 5
AI Planner
Proposes a time-blocked plan based on task priority, your capacity and how you like to work, and flags tasks at risk of being late. Plans are only scheduled once you approve them.
- 6
Frames
Blocks of time set aside for a type of task, each with its own filters. Together they template your ideal week and steer the AI Planner's suggestions.
- 7
Tasks from other tools
Drag tasks from Notion, Todoist, ClickUp, Linear, Obsidian, Google Tasks or Microsoft To Do into the calendar, or use the built-in task list.
- 8
A 2.4 GPA, above 17 of 69
That is against the other daily planner apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

The report card
Best for all your calendars and task apps in one plan
Morgen pulls your calendars and your task apps into one place, then helps you time-block the day. Its AI Planner proposes a plan and waits for your OK before it schedules anything, and it runs on every platform, Linux included. But there's no free plan, the account locks when the trial ends, the phone apps need desktop setup first, and it costs $15 a month on yearly billing or $30 monthly.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | D | Pro is $15 a month paid yearly and $30 paid monthly, against a $5.99 middle and a $10 dearer quarter in this category. Everything Morgen does sits on that one plan. Teams pay $10 a seat yearly with at least 2 seats, less per head than Pro. |
| Free plan and trial | C | No free plan. You get 14 days with full access and no card asked for. When the trial ends the account is locked until you subscribe, though refunds are available in the first 30 days. |
| Features | B | It covers the whole job: an AI Planner that proposes time blocks for you to approve, Frames to template your ideal week, tasks dragged in from Notion, Todoist, ClickUp and Linear, every calendar in one view, booking links, and automatic buffers and travel time. |
| Ease of use | C | No store rating on record, and there's real setting up: calendar accounts, task tools, Frames to shape your week. One quirk to know about is that the iPhone and Android apps need an account that was first configured on desktop. |
| Platforms and integrations | A | Web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone and Android, which nothing else here matches. It joins Google, Outlook, Apple, Fastmail and other CalDAV calendars, pulls tasks from Notion, Todoist, ClickUp and Linear, and has a REST API. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Morgen is for
- Fits if your calendars are spread across Google, Outlook and Apple accounts
- Works for people whose tasks live in Notion, Todoist, ClickUp or Linear, Linux users included
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you want a free plan, because the account locks when the 14-day trial ends
- Pricey if you pay monthly, at $30 against $15 on the yearly plan
- Not for you if you only have a phone, since the mobile apps need an account first set up on desktop
- Watch out: Team needs at least 2 seats, at $10 a seat yearly or $25 monthly
- Pricey if you just want a day planner, as $15 a month is above the $10 where this category's dearer quarter starts
Good to know
Good for
- People managing calendars across Google, Outlook and Apple accounts
- Planning tasks from Notion, Todoist, ClickUp or Linear on a calendar
- Linux users who want a desktop calendar and planner
Worth knowing
- There is no free plan. When the 14-day trial ends, the account is inaccessible until you subscribe.
- Monthly billing is $30 per month for Pro, twice the yearly rate of $15 per month.
- Team plans require a minimum of 2 seats.
- The iOS and Android apps require an account that was first configured on desktop.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Morgen you could make: tasks, calendar and time blocking. What surrounds it you could not. The 6 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 35 of the 69 other daily planner apps grade higher. It costs $180 a year.
What you could make
- Tasks, calendar and time blocking: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A scheduler that rearranges your day as things move.
- Booking pages that read and write other people's calendars and send the emails.
- Apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar and Apple Calendar among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Morgen’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
