Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.6

GPA, above 11 of the 14 other affiliate and referral tools we grade

Rewardful runs affiliate and referral programs for SaaS and other subscription businesses, connecting to Stripe or Paddle so commissions follow each referred customer's upgrades, downgrades, refunds and cancellations. Affiliates get a self-service portal with links and coupon codes, and payouts go out through PayPal, Wise or Rewardful's own managed payouts. Plans are priced by the monthly revenue your affiliates bring in, with no percentage taken.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Rewardful, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Connecting Stripe or Paddle does the heavy lifting, but you still set commissions, cookie length and the portal before affiliates sign up.

It reads sales through Stripe or Paddle, though, so it's not one for a Shopify store.

The report card

Best for a first affiliate program for a SaaS on Stripe

Rewardful is the simple way for a SaaS on Stripe or Paddle to pay affiliates: commissions follow each customer's upgrades, refunds and cancellations on their own, and it takes no cut. Starter is $490 a year for up to $7,500 a month of affiliate revenue. It reads sales through Stripe or Paddle, though, so it's not one for a Shopify store.

ToolGPA report cardRewardfulGraded Oct 18, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyBGraded on $5,000 a month of affiliate sales, which fits Starter's $7,500 cap: $490 a year on yearly billing ($49 monthly), and Rewardful takes 0% of revenue. That's the cheap end of this category, with room to grow. Its optional Managed Payouts cost 3% of payouts.
Free plan and trialCNo free plan, but a 14-day free trial on every plan. The listing doesn't say whether it wants a card.
FeaturesBStripe and Paddle sync that adjusts commissions on upgrades, refunds and cancellations, links that work on any page, coupon codes, recurring or one-time rewards, an affiliate portal, PayPal or Wise payouts and self-referral checks. The whole job for a subscription business.
Ease of useCNo rating on record. Connecting Stripe or Paddle does the heavy lifting, but you still set commissions, cookie length and the portal before affiliates sign up.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb, with Stripe, Paddle, PayPal, Wise, Memberstack, Outseta and LaunchPass, plus a REST API on every plan. No desktop or phone app, so B is the top.
Grade point averageGood, out of 4.02.6

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Rewardful is for

  • Great if you run a SaaS on Stripe or Paddle and want commissions to follow each subscription
  • Handy when you're launching a first affiliate program without a developer
  • Good for programs paying recurring commissions, with no cut of sales taken

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you run a Shopify store, as it reads sales through Stripe or Paddle
  • Tight if you want a branded portal on your own domain, which starts on Growth at $99 a month
  • Not for you if you want to pick up the phone for support, which is Enterprise only

Good to know

Good for

  • SaaS and AI companies billing subscriptions through Stripe or Paddle
  • Founders launching a first affiliate program without a developer
  • Programs that pay recurring commissions on subscriptions

Worth knowing

  • Plans are capped by affiliate-attributed revenue: Starter stops at $7,500 a month, and higher revenue moves you to a higher tier.
  • Rewardful takes 0% of revenue, but optional Managed Payouts cost 3% of payouts, and affiliates may pay withdrawal fees.
  • Starter has one campaign and two team members; a branded portal, custom domain and invite-only campaigns need Growth.
  • Phone support and one-click PayPal payouts are on Enterprise only.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Rewardful you would be making payouts to partners in many countries, with their tax forms. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 2.6 is higher than 11 of the 14 other affiliate and referral tools we grade. It costs $588 a year.

What you could not

  • Payouts to partners in many countries, with their tax forms.
  • Every click and sale traced back to the right partner.
  • It plugs into other products, Stripe, Paddle and PayPal among them, and has an API.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Rewardful’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
