Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.4
GPA, above 6 of the 30 other form and survey tools we grade
Surveyplanet is an online survey maker whose free plan puts no limit on surveys, questions or responses. Surveys can show all questions at once or one at a time, in more than 30 languages, and are shared by link, email, social networks or a website embed. The paid plans add result exports, question branching, custom themes and white labeling, and the Enterprise plan adds teams, survey insights and API access.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Surveyplanet, taken from its own pages and our grades.
No store rating on record, and a survey is still something you assemble, question by question, then theme and publish.
- 1
Best for unlimited free surveys on a small budget
Surveyplanet's free plan has no limit on surveys, questions or responses.
- 2
Paid plans start at $15 a month when paid by the year
As its pricing page puts it: $180 per year, or $20 billed monthly.
- 3
There is a free plan
Unlimited surveys, questions and responses, with basic themes, over 90 pre-written surveys, embedding and basic in-app reports. Exporting results and question branching need Pro.
- 4
It runs on Web
Web.
- 5
Unlimited surveys and responses
The free plan sets no limit on the number of surveys, questions per survey or responses collected.
- 6
Question branching
Branching, also called skip logic, shows or skips questions based on earlier answers and can end a survey early. It is a Pro feature.
- 7
Themes and white labeling
Basic themes are free. Pro adds a theme designer with CSS inputs, your own logo and images, and Enterprise adds custom survey URLs.
- 8
A 2.4 GPA, above 6 of 30
That is against the other form and survey tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

The report card
Best for unlimited free surveys on a small budget
Surveyplanet's free plan has no limit on surveys, questions or responses. But it keeps your results inside the app: exporting them, question branching and removing the branding all need Pro, at $180 a year or $20 a month. There are no integrations on record, and the API, teams and custom URLs are Enterprise only, at $350 a year with no monthly option.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | B | $180 a year works out at $15 a month, inside this category's cheapest quarter, and there's no cap on responses at any tier. Enterprise is $350 a year. Neither paid plan lists any integrations, and the API is Enterprise only. |
| Free plan and trial | B | Free with no limit on surveys, questions or responses, which few others here offer. Exporting your results and branching on an answer both need Pro, and the branding stays on. |
| Features | C | The basics, with the gaps on show in the pricing table itself. Surveys one question at a time or all at once, 30-odd languages, 90-plus ready-written questionnaires. But no payments, no signatures, no integrations at all, and the API is Enterprise only. |
| Ease of use | C | No store rating on record, and a survey is still something you assemble, question by question, then theme and publish. The 90-plus pre-written surveys are the quickest start. |
| Platforms and integrations | C | Web only, and that's all. No phone apps, no desktop app, and the listing names no integrations whatsoever. The API that would let you build your own exists only on Enterprise. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Surveyplanet is for
- Fits if you run lots of surveys and don't want to count responses
- Works for researchers and teachers who want one flat yearly price per license
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you need your results in Excel or CSV without paying, since exports need Pro
- Not for you if your survey needs skip logic on the free plan, as branching is Pro only
- Too light for teams that want answers sent to other apps, with no integrations listed and the API on Enterprise
- Watch out: free surveys carry Surveyplanet branding, and white-label surveys need Pro at $180 a year
- Pricey if you need Teams, custom survey URLs or Insights, which are Enterprise only at $350 a year with no monthly option

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Surveyplanet you could make: surveys, templates and reports. What surrounds it you could not. The 3 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 12 of the 30 other form and survey tools grade higher. It costs $180 a year.
What you could make
- Surveys, templates and reports: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- An API that other software can build on.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- People on the other end: live sessions. No app builder makes those.
What this rests on. Surveyplanet’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
