Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.4
GPA, above 27 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade
Taska is a to-do app for Apple devices built around the Eisenhower Matrix. Tasks are dropped into four boxes by urgency and importance, tapping one starts a focus timer, and each finished session is saved to the device calendar as an event. A Shortcuts automation can draw the matrix onto the Lock Screen wallpaper. The app was called MyLog until March 2026 and is a free download with optional membership purchases.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Taska, taken from its own pages and our grades.
- 1

Tapping a task starts a timer with 15, 25 and 45-minute presets or a custom length, and the running session shows on the Lock Screen.
- 7
Calendar auto-log and Schedule tab
A finished focus session is saved to the iOS Calendar as an event. The Schedule tab shows the day on a timeline next to a monthly calendar.

The report card
Best for sorting tasks into an Eisenhower Matrix
Taska is a to-do app built on the Eisenhower Matrix: drop each task into one of four boxes by urgency and importance, tap it, and a focus timer starts and logs the session to your calendar. It's Apple only and needs iOS 18.4 or macOS 15.0, it has no folders, tags or projects by design, and nothing says what the $2.99 monthly membership unlocks.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | A membership is $2.99 a month, $9.99 a year or $19.99 once for Lifetime Access. A tenner a year is a fraction of the $3.99 a month this category charges in the middle, and owning it outright for $19.99 is cheaper still. You just won't know in advance what the membership unlocks. |
| Free plan and trial | C | It's a free download, and the vendor's terms call it a freemium service. But nothing anywhere states where the free version stops, so you'll find the membership screen by walking into it rather than by reading about it. |
| Features | C | It does the four-box matrix fully, and that's a smaller job than a to-do app's: a focus timer with 15, 25 and 45-minute presets, sessions saved to your calendar, a Schedule tab, 32 widgets and the matrix as your Lock Screen wallpaper. By design there are no folders, tags or projects. |
| Ease of use | C | No rating on record to go by. Dragging a task into a box and tapping to start the timer is simple, but the matrix is a method you have to buy into first, and the Lock Screen wallpaper depends on a multi-step Shortcuts setup. |
| Platforms and integrations | C | iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision on the App Store, with iCloud, Apple Calendar, Reminders and Shortcuts hooked in. One family of devices. It also needs iOS 18.4 or macOS 15.0 or later, so an older device is out. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Taska is for
- Fits if you already sort work by urgent and important and want an app shaped that way
- Works for keeping a record of your day, since focus sessions log to your calendar
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you use Android or Windows, as it only runs on Apple devices
- Too light for anyone who files tasks into projects, since there are no folders, tags or projects
- Not for you if your iPhone can't run iOS 18.4 or your Mac macOS 15.0, the oldest versions it supports
- Watch out: neither the listing nor the site says what the membership unlocks, and there's no pricing page
- Watch out: Lifetime is listed at both $19.99 and $22.99, and the Lock Screen matrix needs a multi-step Shortcuts setup
Good to know
Good for
- People who sort tasks by urgency and importance
- Keeping a record of the day without writing a journal
- Seeing the task matrix on the Lock Screen without opening an app
Worth knowing
- Apple devices only: the App Store lists iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision, while the vendor's site describes it as an app for iPhone and iPad.
- The App Store listing does not say which features need a membership, and the vendor's site has no pricing page.
- By design there are no folders, tags or projects.
- It requires iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4 or macOS 15.0 or later, and the wallpaper feature depends on a multi-step Shortcuts setup.

What you could make
- Tasks, Pomodoro timer and calendar: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- Apps for macOS and iOS that stay in step with each other.
- Hooks into the device itself: widgets and the lock screen.
