Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.4

GPA, above 27 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade

TaskFire is the to-do list app that Appigo previously sold as Todo and Todo Cloud; existing accounts and data carry over under the new name. Tasks and checklists sit in lists that sync across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and a web app, and smart lists filter them by due date, tag or assignee. Premium adds sharing, recurring tasks and location alerts, and a Teams plan adds central billing and an admin dashboard.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about TaskFire, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Typing a few characters into a task's name does set its dates, priority, tags and list for you.
From our grade for ease of use
  1. 1

Best for a to-do list across Apple devices and the web

TaskFire is the old Todo Cloud app under a new name: lists, checklists and projects that sync across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and the web.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $2.50 a month

As its pricing page puts it: $2.50 per month, billed annually ($3 billed monthly).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Basic plan: up to 50 active tasks, 10 checklists, 10 projects and 3 lists, 100 MB of file storage and 1 reminder per task, with syncing, notes and comments. Completed tasks older than 2 weeks need a paid plan.

  4. 4

    It runs on 3 platforms

    iOS, macOS and Web.

  5. 5

    Lists, checklists and task details

Every task belongs to a list and can carry notes, comments, tags, a priority, and start and due dates. Lists can be reordered and separated with spacers.

  6. 6

    Smart Lists

Saved filters gather tasks across lists by due date, star, tag or assignee. Accounts start with standard ones such as Important and Next seven days, which can be customized.

  7. 7

    Reminders and location alerts

A Basic account allows one reminder per task. Premium allows up to 10 follow-up reminders, plus alerts triggered on arriving at or leaving a location.

  8. 8

    A 2.4 GPA, above 27 of 123

That is against the other to-do list apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

The report card

Best for a to-do list across Apple devices and the web

TaskFire is the old Todo Cloud app under a new name: lists, checklists and projects that sync across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and the web. Premium is $2.50 a month on yearly billing, but the free plan stops at 50 active tasks and 3 lists, recurring tasks and sharing are paid, its own pages disagree on the price, and there's no Android or Windows download.

ToolGPA report cardTaskFireGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCPremium is $2.50 a month billed annually, or $3 monthly, which puts it just outside the cheapest quarter of this category and in the middle of the pack. Teams is $3.33 a user. Its own FAQ words Premium as $2.99 a month or $30 a year, so even the price isn't settled.
Free plan and trialCBasic is free for good, with syncing, notes and comments. But it stops at 50 active tasks, 10 checklists, 10 projects and 3 lists, with 1 reminder a task, and recurring tasks are Premium. Completed tasks older than 2 weeks need a paid plan too.
FeaturesBLists, checklists and projects, smart lists that filter by due date, tag or assignee, up to 10 reminders a task, and alerts when you arrive at or leave a place. Add tasks by email or Siri, share a list and assign from it. That's the whole job covered, even if most of it is Premium.
Ease of useC4.32 from 1,518 App Store ratings. A 4.3 needs ten thousand ratings behind it to count for a B on our ladder, and this has a tenth of that. Typing a few characters into a task's name does set its dates, priority, tags and list for you.
Platforms and integrationsBiPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and a web app, with Slack and Google Calendar integrations on paid plans. Other pages mention Android and Windows, but no download for either is listed, so one phone and no more.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.4

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who TaskFire is for

  • Fits if you used Todo or Todo Cloud, since your account and data carry over
  • Works for families and small teams who share lists and assign tasks, on a paid plan

Who it is not for

  • Tight if you're staying free, because Basic stops at 50 active tasks, 3 lists and 1 reminder a task
  • Not for you if you want repeating tasks or shared lists for free, since both are Premium
  • Skip it if you're on Android or Windows, as no download for either is listed
  • Watch out: the pricing page and FAQ disagree, at $2.50 a month yearly against $2.99 a month or $30 a year
  • Watch out: completed tasks older than 2 weeks need a paid plan, and the pages disagree on Basic's project count

Good to know

Good for

  • Former Todo and Todo Cloud users, whose accounts carry over
  • Apple users who want tasks on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch
  • Families and small teams sharing lists and assigning tasks
  • Location-based reminders for errands

Worth knowing

  • Sharing lists, recurring tasks, smart lists, tags, location alerts and the Slack and Google Calendar integrations are all listed as Premium features.
  • Basic stops at 50 active tasks, 10 checklists, 10 projects and 3 lists, with one reminder per task. At 50 tasks, no new checklists or projects can be created.
  • The downloads page lists iPhone, iPad, Mac, web and Slack apps. Other pages mention Android and Windows, but no download for either is listed.
  • The pricing page lists Projects under Premium in its plan cards but gives Basic 10 projects in its comparison table. Its FAQ words the Premium price as $2.99 a month or $30 a year.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of TaskFire you could make: tasks and calendar. What surrounds it you could not. The 6 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 76 of the 123 other to-do list apps grade higher. It costs $30 a year.

What you could make

  • Tasks and calendar: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS and iOS that stay in step with each other.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app and Siri.
  • What a company asks for before it lets staff use something: roles and permissions.
  • Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. TaskFire’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
