Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
3.4
GPA, above 138 of the 147 other note-taking apps we grade
Twos is an app for writing down notes, to-dos, reminders and events in one place. Everything lands on a list for the current day, unfinished to-dos carry over to the next day, and search or an AI chat brings older entries back. Writing, reminders, calendar sync, sharing and collaboration are free without limits; the paid Twos Plus plan adds templates, extra layouts and views, customization and unlimited AI chat.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Twos, taken from its own pages and our grades.
- 1
Best for one daily list for notes, to-dos and reminders
Twos is a daily list for notes, to-dos, reminders and events, where unfinished items move to tomorrow by themselves, and writing, reminders, calendar sync and sharing are free with no cap.
- 2
Paid plans start at $3.33 a month
As its pricing page puts it: $3.33 per month, billed yearly ($39.99).
- 3
There is a free plan
Unlimited things, lists and to-dos, daily lists, reminders, calendar sync, search, tags, sublists, sharing and collaboration, plus 20 AI chat messages a month.
- 4
It runs on 6 platforms
Web, macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.
- 5
Daily lists with carry-over
Whatever you write lands on the list for today, and to-dos you do not finish move to the next day automatically.
- 6
Notes, to-dos, reminders and events
A single list can mix notes, checkable to-dos, calendar events and reminders, including repeating and location-based ones on the free plan.
- 7
Search and AI chat
Search covers everything you have written, including text inside photos, and an AI chat answers questions from your own entries.
- 8
A 3.4 GPA, above 138 of 147
That is against the other note-taking apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it

The report card
Best for one daily list for notes, to-dos and reminders
Twos is a daily list for notes, to-dos, reminders and events, where unfinished items move to tomorrow by themselves, and writing, reminders, calendar sync and sharing are free with no cap. Templates, week view, boards and backlinks need Plus at $3.33 a month billed yearly, free AI chat stops at 20 messages a month, two-way calendar and Reminders sync is iPhone and iPad only, and in-app prices vary by country.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | Twos Plus is $3.33 a month billed yearly ($39.99), or $4.99 month by month. That's the ordinary band for note apps here, under the $6 middle but just outside the cheapest quarter at $2.99. Plus Lifetime at $199 is about five years of the yearly price, so it only pays off if you really stay. |
| Free plan and trial | A | Free has no cap a normal person would reach: unlimited things, lists and to-dos, with reminders, calendar sync, search, tags, sharing and live collaboration, with no time limit. The only meter is AI chat, at 20 messages a month. |
| Features | A | It covers the job and adds things nothing else here does: daily lists that carry unfinished to-dos forward, location-based reminders, search that reads text inside photos, live shared lists, and capture by email, text message, WhatsApp, Slack or Raycast, with a REST API and an MCP server behind it. |
| Ease of use | B | 4.75 on the App Store, but from about 340 ratings, which isn't enough weight for our top mark. Whatever you write lands on today's list, so there's nowhere to file it first, and importers bring things over from Apple Notes, Notion, Evernote and Todoist. |
| Platforms and integrations | A | Web, Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, Android, a browser extension, Apple Watch and Wear OS. It connects to Google Calendar, Slack, Readwise and Zapier, and there's a REST API and an MCP server for your own automation. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Twos is for
- Fits if you want notes, to-dos and reminders in one list rather than three apps
- Works for households sharing a grocery list or a trip plan, since sharing is free
Who it is not for
- Skip it if you need two-way calendar sync on Android, as that's iPhone and iPad only
- Tight if you want templates, a week view or board layouts, because those need Twos Plus
- Not for you if you chat with the AI a lot and won't pay, with 20 messages a month on free
- Watch out: prices are set by the App Store, Google Play and Stripe and vary by country, so the app may not show the US list price
- Pricey if you go lifetime, since $199 is about five years of the yearly plan
Good to know
Good for
- People who want notes, to-dos and reminders in one daily list
- Quick capture from a phone, watch, browser or messaging app
- Households sharing lists such as groceries or trip plans
Worth knowing
- Templates, board and gallery layouts, week view, archive, backlinks and most customization need Twos Plus.
- Free accounts get 20 AI chat messages a month; unlimited chat is part of Plus.
- Two-way sync with Apple and Google Calendar and with Apple Reminders is offered on iPhone and iPad only.
- Twos says prices vary by country and are set by the App Store, Google Play and Stripe, so the price in the app can differ from the US dollar list price.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Twos you could make: notes, tasks, daily notes and calendar. What surrounds it you could not. The 6 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 3.4 is higher than 138 of the 147 other note-taking apps we grade. It costs $39.96 a year.
What you could make
- Notes, tasks, daily notes and calendar: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- Apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
- It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- Hooks into the device itself: an Apple Watch app and a Wear OS app.
- Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
- The depth: we grade its features A, which means it covers the whole job.
What this rests on. Twos’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
