Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 6 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade

Unforgetful is a to-do reminders app for iPhone, iPad and Mac made for people who forget or put off tasks. It works on the user's Apple Reminders data and keeps sending notifications for every task until it is completed or deleted, with snooze intervals that adapt to how often a task has been snoozed. It deliberately leaves out folders, tags, calendars and collaboration, and requires a $19.99 yearly subscription after a one-month free trial.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Unforgetful, taken from its own pages and our grades.

Nothing to import or set up: it works on the Reminders you already have, and Siri's "Remind me" requests turn up on their own.
From our grade for ease of use

  6. 6

    Notifications that repeat

Every task keeps notifying until it is completed or deleted, even after a notification has been missed or dismissed.

  7. 7

The report card

Best for reminders that nag until the task is done

Unforgetful sits on your Apple Reminders and keeps notifying you about each task until it's done or deleted, with snoozes that stretch the more you put something off. But it's Apple only, it leaves out folders, tags, a calendar and collaboration by design, dictation can't pick out dates, and after a one-month trial it needs $19.99 a year. Nothing is free once the trial ends.

ToolGPA report cardUnforgetfulGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyB$19.99 a year is the only plan, and it covers iPhone, iPad and Mac. That works out at about $1.67 a month, which sits in the cheaper quarter of what to-do apps charge. Small app, small price.
Free plan and trialDNothing is free here beyond the first month. There's no free plan at all, and the one-month trial runs as an App Store subscription, so your payment details are attached before you start. After that it's $19.99 a year or the app stops being yours to use.
FeaturesCIt does one job fully, and that job is smaller than the rest of this category's: alerts that repeat until you act, snoozes that stretch each time you put something off, and a location reminder that can fire five minutes after you get home. No tags, folders, calendar or collaboration, by design.
Ease of useBNothing to import or set up: it works on the Reminders you already have, and Siri's "Remind me" requests turn up on their own. A microphone button takes a spoken task, though the developer says dictation doesn't pick dates or times out of what you said. No rating on record yet.
Platforms and integrationsCiPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, talking to Apple Reminders, Siri and iCloud. That's one family of devices and nothing else: no Android, no Windows, no web.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Unforgetful is for

  • Fits if you dismiss a notification and then forget the task ever existed
  • Works for a short list of near-term tasks in Apple Reminders and Siri, not for planning projects

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you use Android or Windows, as it only runs on Apple devices
  • Too light for anyone who wants tags, folders or a calendar, which it leaves out on purpose
  • Not for you if you won't pay for reminders, because nothing is free once the one-month trial ends
  • Watch out: the trial runs as an App Store subscription, so your payment details are attached from day one
  • Watch out: dictation saves the whole phrase as the title and doesn't pick out dates or times yet

Good to know

Good for

  • People who dismiss a notification and then forget the task
  • Apple Reminders and Siri users who want persistent alerts
  • A short list of near-term tasks, not project planning

Worth knowing

  • A subscription is required to use the app; there is no free plan once the one-month trial ends.
  • By design it has no calendar, scheduling, timers, collaboration, tags, folders or archives.
  • It is for Apple devices only: the App Store lists iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch.
  • The developer says dictation records the whole phrase as the title and does not yet pick dates or times out of it.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Your call

A to-do list at its plainest is tasks with dates, repeats and a box to tick.

You could make the core of Unforgetful for yourself: tasks. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. At $19.99 a year it costs less than the weekend it would take to replace, which is the argument for keeping it.

What you could make

  • Tasks: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS and iOS that stay in step with each other.
  • Hooks into the device itself: widgets, Siri and the lock screen.
  • Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.

What this rests on. Unforgetful’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
