Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.8
GPA, above 48 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade
Weeklo is a weekly planner that shows a whole week as a grid of days, with tasks added in a tap and dragged between days or weeks. Separate planners can be kept for work, study or meals, with rich-text notes and PDF export on the PRO tier. Data is stored on the device by default, and the Ultra tier adds real-time sync across web, iOS and Android and shared planners.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Weeklo, taken from its own pages and our grades.
No store rating on record, but there's nothing to set up: install it, tap to add a task, swipe to turn the week.
- 1
Best for a paper-style week on your phone
Weeklo shows your whole week as a grid of days, like a paper planner you can drag tasks around in.
- 2
Paid plans start at $0.50 a month when paid by the year
As its pricing page puts it: $1.99 per month, or $5.99 to $9.99 per year (US App Store listing).
- 3
There is a free plan
Weeklo Free is ad-free with unlimited tasks. Multiple planners, recurring tasks, timed reminders, AI emojis, backups, PDF export and notes need PRO; sync and sharing need Ultra.
- 4
It runs on 3 platforms
Web, iOS and Android.
- 5
Whole-week grid view
The week is shown as a grid of days. Tasks are created in one tap and dragged across days or weeks, weeks turn with a page-flip swipe, and a monthly calendar jumps to any date.
- 6
Multiple planners
Separate planners for work, study, meals or a diary each get their own color and are switched by scrolling vertically. Multiple planners need PRO.
- 7
Recurring tasks and reminders
Recurrence rules cover daily, weekly, multi-week, monthly and yearly intervals, and a task can carry several notifications. Both are PRO features.
- 8
A 2.8 GPA, above 48 of 69
That is against the other daily planner apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

The report card
Best for a paper-style week on your phone
Weeklo shows your whole week as a grid of days, like a paper planner you can drag tasks around in. PRO is $1.99 a month and Ultra $2.99. The free version is ad-free with unlimited tasks, but repeating tasks and timed reminders are PRO, phone-to-web sync needs Ultra, the store lists two prices for several tiers, and your data sits on the device unless you pay for backups.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | A | PRO is $1.99 a month and Ultra $2.99, or $15.99 for the year, when the cheapest quarter of planners starts at $3.99 a month. PRO Forever is $20.99 or $31.99 once. The App Store lists two prices for several tiers without saying which applies, which is sloppy, but even the dearer ones undercut the category. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free is ad-free with no cap on tasks, and then almost everything else is paid: multiple planners, repeating tasks, timed reminders, notes, backups and PDF export are PRO, and syncing your phone with the web needs Ultra. A planner that can't repeat "bins on tuesday" only gets you so far. |
| Features | C | The paper week: a grid of days, tasks in one tap, dragging between days and weeks, separate planners for work, study or meals, repeats from daily to yearly, formatted notes and a printable PDF. A smaller job than planners that take on your calendar, and sync, sharing and backups are upper-tier. |
| Ease of use | B | No store rating on record, but there's nothing to set up: install it, tap to add a task, swipe to turn the week. Worth knowing that your data sits on the device by default and the terms make backups your job. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, iPhone and Android, though they only sync with each other on Ultra; below that your week stays on the one device. Apple Calendar, iCloud and Google Drive are the only connections on record. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Weeklo is for
- Fits if you think in weeks and want the look of a paper planner
- Works for a household sharing a meal plan or a grocery list, on the Ultra tier
Who it is not for
- Tight if you're staying free, because repeating tasks, timed reminders and multiple planners are PRO
- Skip it if you want phone and web in sync without paying for Ultra, the top tier
- Not for you if you forget backups, since data sits on your device by default and backups are PRO
- Watch out: the site shows no prices, and the store lists two prices each for PRO Yearly, PRO Forever and Ultra Forever
Good to know
Good for
- People who think in weeks and like a paper-planner layout
- Households sharing a meal plan or grocery list
- Buyers who prefer a one-time purchase to a subscription
Worth knowing
- Weeklo Free leaves out multiple planners, recurring tasks, timed reminders, backups, notes and PDF export.
- Real-time sync across web, iOS and Android and shared planners are limited to the Ultra tier.
- The site shows no prices, and the US App Store lists two different prices each for PRO Yearly, PRO Forever and Ultra Forever.
- Data is stored on the device by default, and the terms make users responsible for backups, which are a PRO feature.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Your call
A daily planner at its plainest is today's tasks laid along a timeline.
You could make the core of Weeklo for yourself: tasks, notes and calendar. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. At $5.99 a year it costs less than the weekend it would take to replace, which is the argument for keeping it.
What you could make
- Tasks, notes and calendar: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- Several people working in it at the same moment.
What this rests on. Weeklo’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
