Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

3.0

GPA, above 57 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps we grade

Zoho Calendar is a free online calendar from the team behind Zoho Mail, with apps for the web, iOS and Android. It covers events and reminders, shared and group calendars, appointment booking pages and sync with Google and Outlook calendars. It has no paid plan of its own: more booking links and meeting-room booking come with a paid Zoho Mail or Zoho Workplace subscription.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Zoho Calendar, taken from its own pages and our grades.

No rating on record, and getting going means a Zoho account, then connecting Google or Outlook and setting up sharing.
From our grade for ease of use
  1. 1

Best for a free shared calendar, above all for Zoho Mail teams

Zoho Calendar is a free online calendar: type "Meeting with John tomorrow at 2pm" and it's booked, share calendars with your team, and sync both ways with Google and Outlook.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $1 a month for each person

As its pricing page puts it: $1 per user / month, billed annually (Zoho Mail Lite).

  3. 3

    There is a free plan

Zoho Calendar is a free web application with mobile apps: events, shared calendars, subscriptions, sync and 1 appointment booking link. Resource booking needs a paid Zoho Mail plan.

  4. 4

    It runs on 3 platforms

    Web, iOS and Android.

  5. 5

    Events with Smart Add

Type a phrase such as "Meeting with John tomorrow at 2pm" and the event is created. Views switch between day, week, month and agenda, and events move by drag and drop.

  6. 6

    Appointment booking pages

Share a booking page with set durations, buffer times and a daily cap, and require guests to verify their email. Free users get 1 booking link; paid users get up to 10.

  7. 7

    Shared and group calendars

Share a calendar publicly or with chosen people, create group calendars for a team, and subscribe to holiday, public or colleagues' calendars.

  8. 8

    A 3.0 GPA, above 57 of 74

That is against the other calendar and scheduling apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  9. 9

The report card

Best for a free shared calendar, above all for Zoho Mail teams

Zoho Calendar is a free online calendar: type "Meeting with John tomorrow at 2pm" and it's booked, share calendars with your team, and sync both ways with Google and Outlook. But there's no paid Calendar plan of its own, so upgrades mean Zoho Mail or Workplace, free users get 1 booking link and paid users 10, meeting-room booking is paid, and the Trident desktop app is on paid plans only.

ToolGPA report cardZoho CalendarGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyAThe calendar itself is free, in a category where paid tools start around $6 a month, and it has no paid plan of its own. The step up is Zoho Mail Lite at $1 a user a month billed annually, which has no monthly option.
Free plan and trialBEvents, shared calendars, subscriptions, two-way sync with Google and Outlook, the phone apps and 1 appointment booking link, all free, and Zoho's Mail Free plan covers up to 5 users. A person could really live on that. The caps you'll meet are the single booking link and paid-only meeting rooms.
FeaturesBEvents added by typing a sentence, day, week, month and agenda views, group calendars, two-way sync with Google and Outlook, booking pages with buffers and a daily cap, free/busy lookups across Exchange and Google, and a REST API. That covers the calendar job; booking links stop at 10 even when you pay.
Ease of useCNo rating on record, and getting going means a Zoho account, then connecting Google or Outlook and setting up sharing. The calendar itself holds no surprises, with familiar views and drag and drop.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb, iPhone and Android, with CalDAV and Exchange ActiveSync for other apps and devices, Google, Outlook, Calendly, Zoom, Teams, Slack and Zapier, and a REST API. But Trident, Zoho's desktop app, is listed on paid plans only.
Grade point averageVery good, out of 4.03.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Zoho Calendar is for

  • Fits if your team already uses Zoho Mail or Zoho Workplace
  • Works for anyone who wants a free web calendar with one booking page

Who it is not for

  • Tight if you want lots of booking links, as free users get 1 and paid users top out at 10
  • Skip it if you book meeting rooms and won't pay, because resource booking needs a paid Zoho Mail plan
  • Not for you if you want a desktop app for free, since Trident is listed on paid plans
  • Watch out: there's no Calendar plan to buy, and Mail Lite and Mail Premium are billed yearly only

Good to know

Good for

  • Teams already using Zoho Mail or Zoho Workplace
  • Individuals who want a free web calendar with one booking page
  • Organizations that need free/busy lookups across Zoho, Exchange and Google

Worth knowing

  • Free users can create 1 appointment booking link; paid Zoho Mail or Workplace users can create up to 10.
  • Resource booking for meeting rooms is available only with a paid Zoho Mail plan.
  • There is no standalone paid Calendar plan: upgrades are Zoho Mail or Workplace subscriptions, and Mail Lite and Mail Premium are billed annually only.
  • Calendar's own apps are for the web, iOS and Android; Zoho's Trident desktop app for macOS and Windows is listed on paid plans.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Zoho Calendar you could make: calendar and natural-language input. What surrounds it you could not. The 5 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 3.0 is higher than 57 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps we grade. It costs $12 a year.

What you could make

  • Calendar and natural-language input: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Booking pages that read and write other people's calendars and send the emails.
  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
  • It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Outlook and Calendly among them, and has an API.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Zoho Calendar’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
