How we grade them

3.0GPAAida ReminderVery good3.0GPANudgeVery good
Value for money
AThe Full Version is $2.99 once, with no monthly or annual fees. A typical to-do app charges more than that every single month. It unlocks unlimited reminders, and it's the only thing for sale.
BPro is $1.99 a month or $19.99 a year, which is cheap. But it mostly buys you no ads, iCloud sync and extra icons and sounds, so it's not a lot for the money. Pro can be shared with your family through their Apple IDs.
Free plan and trial
BFree to download with all its reminder types and alarm options, but you can only add 1 hourly, daily and weekly reminder. Enough to see how it works. Not enough to run your week.
AThe free version does the whole job: repeating reminders with sounds, colours and icons. You put up with ads, and each device runs separately with no sync. Plenty of people could stay here.
Features
BIt does one job, reminders, and does it fully: repeats by hours, weekdays or dates like the third Monday, your own voice or a song as the alert, Auto-Snooze up to 5 times and up to 5 Pre-Alarms. But it's alarms, not lists or projects, and it offers backup and restore, not live sync.
BIt only does repeating reminders, and it does them fully. Pick a time, the weekdays, a sound, and an optional warning bell 5 minutes ahead. Mute one nudge or the lot for a day off. One limit: iOS holds at most 64 pending reminders for the app.
Ease of use
A4.7 from about 17,500 App Store ratings. Pick a schedule and a sound and you're done, and you can snooze straight from the notification banner or the lock screen.
BWe have no App Store rating on record, so a B is as high as we go. A nudge is a name, a time, some weekdays and a sound, so there's very little to learn. Siri can make one without opening the app.
Platforms and integrations
DiPhone and iPad only. The developer lists no Android, Mac or web version of this app, no integrations are on record, and notifications stay local to the device.
CiPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision, with widgets and Siri. That's the Apple family and nothing else. There's no Android, Windows or web version.

  • Buyers who want a one-time price with no subscription

Nudge

Worth knowing

Aida Reminder

  • It is for iPhone and iPad only; the vendor lists no Android, Mac or web version of this app.
  • The free version is limited to 1 hourly, daily and weekly reminder until the Full Version is bought.
  • Notifications are local to the device; the vendor describes backup and restore, not live sync, for moving reminders between devices.
  • The same developer sells a similar but separate app named Reminders, which has its own download and in-app purchase.

Nudge

  • Apple devices only: the App Store lists iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Vision, with no Android, Windows or web version.
  • The free version shows ads, and syncing nudges between devices through iCloud needs the Pro subscription.
  • Nudges are set by time and day of the week; the vendor says the app is not meant to replace a calendar for meetings and appointments.
  • The release notes say iOS holds at most 64 pending reminders for the app; it now warns when a schedule outgrows that limit.

Key features

Aida Reminder

Recurring reminders
Reminders repeat every set number of hours, days, weeks, months or years, on chosen weekdays, on dates such as the 15th or the third Monday, or at specific times of day.
Voice and music reminders
A reminder can play a recording of the user's own voice or a song picked from the music library at the scheduled time. There are also 45 built-in alarm sounds.
Auto-Snooze and Pre-Alarms
Auto-Snooze repeats an alarm up to 5 times at a regular interval until it is dealt with, and Pre-Alarms send up to 5 notifications ahead of the scheduled date.
Wake-up alarm
One of the nine reminder categories is a wake-up alarm with a custom snooze time; reminders can also be snoozed from the notification banner or the lock screen.
Calendar and history
A calendar shows all reminders by month, a History tab lists past ones, and the list can be sorted by priority or by activation date.
Images for reminders
Each reminder can carry a photo or one of more than 120 built-in images. On iOS 26 and later, custom images can be generated with AI.

Nudge

Reminders that repeat by weekday
Each nudge has a time of day and repeats on any day or mix of days of the week, such as every day, weekdays only or weekends.
Sounds and a 5-minute warning
A nudge plays a sound picked from a built-in library, from short and subtle to loud, and an optional warning bell can ring 5 minutes ahead of it.
Names, colors and icons
Every nudge is given a name, a color and an icon so it can be recognized at a glance. Pro unlocks more icons and sounds.
Mute one nudge or all of them
A single nudge, or the whole schedule, can be muted for a day off without deleting any of the alarms.
Widgets and Siri
A Home Screen widget shows the day's schedule, Lock Screen widgets are also listed, and Siri can create a nudge without opening the app.
iCloud sync on Pro
Pro keeps nudges in step across iPhone, iPad and Mac through iCloud. The free version runs on each device separately.
