How we grade them
| 2.8GPAClayGood | 2.8GPAZoomInfoGood | |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | BLaunch is $167 a month billed yearly with unlimited seats, about $33.40 a head for five, just inside this category's cheaper quarter ($34). It buys 2,500 data credits and 15,000 actions a month. On your own, the whole $167 is yours to pay. | CNo prices are published: every package is quoted on licenses, credits and features, so it sits at the ordinary grade with no five-person figure. Each export of a profile uses a credit, and CRM integrations usually add a base fee. |
| Free plan and trial | CA free plan with 100 data credits and 500 actions a month, unlimited seats, waterfalls and Claygent, plus a 14-day trial. But tables stop at 200 rows and there's no phone enrichment. | CZoomInfo Lite is free with no card, and there's a free trial of the full platform, usually 7 days. Lite's limits aren't stated, so we can't call it a plan to live on. |
| Features | AWaterfalls across 150-plus providers, where a lookup that finds nothing costs nothing, plus Claygent for web research, job-change signals, its own sequencer and CRM and warehouse sync. No rival here draws on so many sources. | AContacts with direct dials and mobiles, intent and signals, an AI assistant, Agent Teams and workflows, plus marketing audiences and account-based display campaigns. It covers the whole job and reaches into marketing further than any rival here. |
| Ease of use | CNo App Store rating on record, and this is a web app where the work is building the table itself. If spreadsheet formulas make you nervous, expect a learning curve. | B4.63 from about 1,040 App Store ratings for its iPhone app. Good, though the main platform is big software with a fair bit to learn. |
| Platforms and integrations | BWeb only, but with HubSpot, Pipedrive, Attio, Outreach, Instantly, lemlist, Apollo.io and Snowflake on the list, and webhooks from Growth. No desktop or phone apps. | BWeb, iPhone and the ReachOut Chrome extension, with Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Marketo, Outreach, Salesloft and Slack, plus an API, a CLI and an MCP server. |
| Best for | building custom lead lists from many data sources | big sales and marketing teams that run on data |

Worth knowing
Clay
- Two meters apply: data credits pay providers for data, and actions count each enrichment or export. Both are sized separately on paid plans.
- Data credits start at $0.05 each; extra credits cost 30% more than plan credits on Launch and Growth.
- Actions reset each billing cycle; data credits roll over up to twice the monthly amount on Launch and Growth.
- The free plan has no phone number enrichment and stops at 200 rows per table.
ZoomInfo
- No prices are published: every Sales, Marketing and Talent package is quoted by sales, priced by licenses, credits and features.
- Each export of a contact or company profile uses a credit, whether from the platform, the Chrome extension or an integration.
- Its FAQ says ready-made CRM integrations usually carry a base fee and a minimum purchase of bulk credits.
- Payment frequency is agreed with sales; the pricing page does not offer monthly self-serve billing.

- Track job changes, promotions, new hires, company news and social posts from Launch, and website intent from Growth.
- Sequencer and integrations
- Send email from Clay's own sequencer or push leads to Instantly, lemlist, Outreach and HubSpot sequences.
- CRM and warehouse sync

- AI assistant and agents
- AI writes emails and talking points, builds buying groups and summarizes accounts; Agent Teams run multi-step sales plays with set approvals.
- Workflows and outreach
- Workflows trigger outreach and sales tasks from signals, and contacts can be sent to Outreach or Salesloft for sequences.
- Marketing audiences
- Marketing plans build ad audiences for LinkedIn, Facebook and Google retargeting and run account-based display campaigns.
