Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
2.4
GPA, above 18 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps we grade
Agenda Hero converts typed text, screenshots, photos and PDFs into calendar events that can be added to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook. Its calendar maker, called Dates, turns those events into a calendar that can be shared, printed and viewed on any device, and that can pull in other calendars and feeds. A free plan covers one person, and paid plans add unlimited uploads, family accounts with text reminders, and branding for organizations.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Agenda Hero, taken from its own pages and our grades.
Text reminders are Family plan only and reach US numbers only.
- 1
Best for turning a PDF schedule into calendar events
Agenda Hero reads pasted text, screenshots, photos and PDFs and turns the dates in them into events for Google, Apple or Outlook.
- 2
Paid plans start at $2.50 a month when paid by the year
As its pricing page puts it: $5 per month, or $30 per year billed annually.
- 3
There is a free plan
Free plan for one person, with no time limit: unlimited events from typed or pasted text, 10 image and PDF uploads, and calendars limited to 2 views, 2 collaborators and 1 color palette.
- 4
It runs on 3 platforms
Web, iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.
- 5
Magic event creation
Type or paste text, or upload a screenshot, photo or PDF, and Magic returns structured events. One request can produce many events, and every field can be edited before saving.
- 6
Add to Google, Apple and Outlook
Events can be sent to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook or Office 365, or emailed to yourself as an invite. This is included on every plan, Free included.
- 7
Shareable, printable calendars
Dates builds a calendar page with a choice of views, colors and layouts that resizes for print and for phones, and that collaborators can edit together.
- 8
A 2.4 GPA, above 18 of 74
That is against the other calendar and scheduling apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9

The report card
Best for turning a PDF schedule into calendar events
Agenda Hero reads pasted text, screenshots, photos and PDFs and turns the dates in them into events for Google, Apple or Outlook. It isn't a calendar to run your day in, the free plan stops at 10 image and PDF uploads, and pulling in your Google Calendar or a feed needs Plus at $5 a month. Text reminders are Family plan only and reach US numbers only.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | Plus is $5 a month, mid-pack here: above this category's lowest quarter of $4 and below its top quarter of $10. A year of Plus is $30, and Family is $60 a year for six accounts. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free forever for one person, and the cap lands straight on the thing you came for: 10 image and PDF uploads. Typed and pasted text stays unlimited, but shared calendars stop at 2 views and 2 collaborators, and a public link needs Plus. |
| Features | C | It does one job: text, screenshots, photos and PDFs in, editable events out, sent to Google, Apple or Outlook, plus a shareable printable calendar built from them. That's a narrow job next to this category's, and it isn't somewhere to run your day. |
| Ease of use | B | No rating on record, and nothing to set up: paste or upload, look over the events it hands back, fix any field, save. The Chrome extension turns selected text on a page into events the same way. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web, iPhone, Android and a Chrome extension, but no desktop app. Events go out to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook or Office 365, and an MCP connector lets Claude or ChatGPT read your calendars and change events. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Agenda Hero is for
- Fits if school, sports or club schedules reach you as PDFs, screenshots or long emails
- Works for clubs and teams publishing one calendar, with public links from Plus at $5 a month
Who it is not for
- Tight if you're staying free and get lots of PDFs or photos, since image and PDF uploads stop at 10
- Not for you if you want a calendar to live in, as it makes events for other calendars
- Skip it if you need Google Calendar or an ICS feed pulled in free: sources need Plus, and they refresh every few hours
- Watch out: text reminders are Family plan only, reach US numbers only and aren't part of Organizations
- Tight if you share on Free: 2 views and 2 collaborators, no public link, and no AI edits by chat
Good to know
Good for
- Parents turning school and sports schedules into calendar events
- People who receive dates as PDFs, screenshots or long emails
- Schools, clubs and teams publishing one calendar to an audience
Worth knowing
- The Free plan allows 10 image and PDF uploads; unlimited uploads and AI edits by chat need Plus.
- Connecting Google Calendar or an ICS link as a source requires Plus, and outside calendars refresh every few hours.
- Text message reminders come only with the Family plan, go only to US numbers and are not part of Organizations.
- Free calendars are shared privately with up to 2 collaborators; sharing by public link needs Plus.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
The plain part of Agenda Hero you could make: calendar and natural-language input. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 45 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps grade higher. It costs $30 a year.
What you could make
- Calendar and natural-language input: an app builder makes these well.
What you could not
- A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
- It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar and Outlook among them.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.
What this rests on. Agenda Hero’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
