Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.8

GPA, above 92 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade

Any.do is a to-do list app that puts personal tasks, reminders, a calendar and a daily planner in one place and syncs them across phone, desktop and web. A Family plan adds a shared space with a grocery list for up to four people, and a Teams plan adds a workspace of project boards with kanban, table and Gantt views. The personal app is free; recurring tasks and several reminder types need Premium.

To get you started, here are 10 things to know about Any.do, taken from its own pages and our grades.

The free Personal plan syncs across phone, desktop and web.
From our report card of Any.do
  1. 1

Best for tasks, calendar and WhatsApp reminders in one app

Any.do puts your to-do list, calendar and a daily planner in one app, and can take tasks and send reminders inside WhatsApp.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $4.99 a month

As its pricing page puts it: $4.99 per month, billed annually ($7.99 billed monthly).

  3. 3

Web, macOS, Windows, iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.

  5. 5

    Tasks, lists and reminders

Personal to-do lists with reminders are free. Recurring tasks, location reminders and color tags are listed under Premium.

  6. 6

    Calendar and daily planner

Calendar events and tasks are shown together, and a daily planner asks what you intend to get done today.

  7. 7

    WhatsApp tasks and reminders

Tasks can be created and reminders received inside WhatsApp. WhatsApp reminders are a Premium feature.

  8. 8

    Refunds: 14 days

There is a real refund window here, but it is a narrow one: 48 hours on most plans, stretching to 14 days on a yearly Teams plan, and you have to write in and ask. Cancelling is the easy part if you bought on the web, four clicks in your profile, and you keep the paid features to the end of the cycle.

  9. 9

    A 2.8 GPA, above 92 of 123

That is against the other to-do list apps we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

The report card

Best for tasks, calendar and WhatsApp reminders in one app

Any.do puts your to-do list, calendar and a daily planner in one app, and can take tasks and send reminders inside WhatsApp. The free Personal plan syncs across phone, desktop and web. But repeating tasks need Premium at $4.99 a month billed yearly, or $7.99 monthly, so "pay rent every month" costs money here. Refunds must be asked for within 48 hours, and there's no Linux app.

ToolGPA report cardAny.doGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyC$4.99 a month billed annually, which lands right at the dearer end of the middle of this category, where most to-do apps sit. Pay month by month and it's $7.99. Family is $8.33 a month for 4.
Free plan and trialCThe Personal plan is free for good and syncs everywhere, but recurring tasks are Premium. A to-do list that can't do "take the bins out every Tuesday" is a cap you'll hit in the first week.
FeaturesBIt covers the lot: tasks beside calendar events, a planner that asks what you'll do today, a family grocery list by aisle, team boards with kanban, table and Gantt. The catch is that repeats and location reminders sit behind Premium.
Ease of useB4.6 from about 50,500 App Store ratings. Lists, reminders and a calendar in one place, in step between phone, desktop and web.
Platforms and integrationsAWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android and a browser extension, plus WhatsApp, Google Calendar, Gmail, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Zapier. Only Linux is missing.

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Any.do is for

  • Fits if you want tasks, a calendar and a daily planner in one app on phone, desktop and web
  • Works for households of up to 4 who share projects and a grocery list sorted by aisle

Who it is not for

  • Tight if you're staying free, because recurring tasks, color tags, location and WhatsApp reminders are all Premium
  • Pricey if you pay monthly, at $7.99 against $4.99 a month on yearly billing
  • Not for you if your household is bigger than 4, as Family stops there and Teams charges per member
  • Watch out: the license agreement allows refund requests only within 48 hours of purchase
  • Skip it if you work on Linux, as no Linux app is listed

Good to know

Good for

  • Personal to-do lists kept in sync between phone, desktop and web
  • Households that want shared projects and a shared grocery list
  • People who want task reminders delivered in WhatsApp
  • Small teams that want project boards next to personal tasks

Worth knowing

  • Recurring tasks, location reminders, color tags and WhatsApp reminders are Premium features.
  • The Family plan is fixed at 4 members; a larger group has to move to the per-member Teams plan.
  • The license agreement limits refund requests to within 48 hours of purchase.
  • No Linux app is listed on the vendor's site.

Any.do's GPA of 2.8 is higher than 92 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade, and level with 10.

It stands best on platforms and integrations (A, above 108 of 123) and worst on free plan and trial (C, above 6).

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Any.do you would be making connections to other products, each kept working as those products change. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

It is one of the better ones too: its GPA of 2.8 is higher than 92 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade. It costs $59.88 a year.

What you could make

  • Tasks, calendar, kanban boards, Gantt & timelines and templates: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
  • Apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Any.do’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.

A short window you must claim, with a clean self-serve exit, is a B.

Getting your money back

Any.do's help centre states that Premium, Family and monthly Teams subscriptions can be refunded if asked for within 48 hours of the payment, and yearly Teams subscriptions within 14 days, with no partial or prorated refunds afterwards. Refunds are issued by whichever platform took the payment. The terms are shorter and say only that refunds are issued for requests within 48 hours of purchase.

Stated on support.any.do
How to cancel Any.do

Where you cancel depends on who took the payment. A plan bought on the Any.do website is ended in the web or desktop app under Settings, My Profile, Manage Subscription; a Family or Teams plan is ended by an admin from Manage Space. A plan bought through the App Store, Google Play or Huawei must be cancelled there. The page warns that deleting your profile or uninstalling the app does not count as cancelling.

  1. Open Any.do on the web or in the desktop app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Open My Profile
  4. Select Manage Subscription
  5. Select Leave Premium and confirm
Stated on support.any.do
What you keep afterwards

Cancelling stops the next renewal rather than the current period: the paid features stay active until the billing cycle ends, and then access drops to whatever paid plan is still running, or to the free plan if none is. Premium, Family and Teams are separate subscriptions, so cancelling one leaves the others billing.

Stated on support.any.do
Renewals

Any.do says a paid plan renews automatically on the same cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date, monthly on the same calendar day you upgraded and yearly on the same date. A free trial renews into the paid plan the same way unless it is cancelled first. No reminder before a renewal is mentioned.

Stated on support.any.do

In your favour

  • Buy on the web and you cancel it yourself in your profile, with nobody to email.
  • Paid features run to the end of the cycle you have already paid for.
  • A yearly Teams plan gets 14 days to change your mind, not the usual 48 hours.

Watch out for

  • Most plans give you 48 hours to ask for a refund. Miss it and nothing comes back.
  • There are no partial or prorated refunds once the window has passed.
  • Premium, Family and Teams bill separately, so cancelling one does not stop the others.
  • Deleting your profile or uninstalling the app is not a cancellation, and the charges carry on.

Customer support

BGrade

Good · checked Oct 18, 2026

Any.do does something many apps avoid: it publishes how long you will wait. One to two business days on priority requests, two to four on standard ones, through a chat widget or a contact form. The chat itself is an AI assistant around the clock, and you have to ask it to pass you to a person. Written times and a route open to everyone is a solid B; what would make it an A is a human you can reach live.

Ways to get help

  • Live chat

A chat widget in the apps, on the website and in the help centre. Any.do says it is available 24/7 and answered first by an AI assistant, and that you can ask to escalate to a human support agent if the issue is urgent or complex.

    Stated on support.any.do
  • Contact form or ticket

A contact form on the Any.do site, which the help centre recommends for bugs, billing, invoices, plan changes and anything that needs files attached.

    Stated on any.do
  • Help centre

The Any.do Help Center has articles grouped into getting started, tasks and lists, calendar, boards, notifications, integrations, plans and billing, and account security, open to anyone.

    Stated on support.any.do

Not listed on Any.do’s pages: phone.

When people answer

Any.do says Chat Support is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but that this is the AI assistant. The reply times it gives for a human agent are counted in business days, and no working hours for the human team are stated.

Stated on support.any.do
How fast it says it replies

Any.do says a human agent usually replies within 1 to 2 business days on priority requests and 2 to 4 business days on standard ones, and gives the same figures for the chat and the contact form. It does not say what makes a request priority.

Stated on support.any.do
What depends on your plan

Its pages do not say.

In your favour

  • It publishes reply times, which most apps at this price will not do.
  • The chat widget is in the apps, on the site and in the help centre, so help is never far.
  • The contact form takes screenshots and recordings, which saves a round of emails.

Watch out for

  • The 24/7 chat is an AI assistant. A person is an escalation, not the first answer.
  • Even a priority request is answered in business days, so a weekend problem waits.
  • No page says what counts as priority, so you cannot tell which queue you are in.
  • No pages read here state any difference in support between the free and paid plans.

What these two grades rest on. Read on 18 October 2026: Any.do's app licence agreement and its help-centre articles on cancelling a subscription, how billing and renewals work, managing a subscription and contacting support, plus its contact form and help-centre home. Nobody here cancelled a plan, asked for a refund or contacted its support. They are graded apart from the five that make the GPA. How we grade refunds and support.

Tools graded, in 94 categories

ToolGPA grades software the way a school report grades a pupil: five subjects, a letter for each with the reason written beside it, and a GPA that averages them. Prices, plans and platforms are read from each maker’s own pages and dated, so you always know how fresh a figure is.

Every grade, review and ranking on ToolGPA is our own judgement. No company can pay for a grade or change one. Every tool on the site has a guide like this one, free to download and pass on. It all lives at toolgpa.com.
