Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 2 of the 12 other popup and widget tools we grade

Elfsight sells a library of more than 90 website widgets, of which the popup is one: others include Google and other review feeds, Instagram and social feeds, an AI chatbot, WhatsApp chat, form builders, countdown timers, event calendars and cookie consent banners. Widgets are set up in a live editor and pasted into almost any site builder. Each widget type is bought on its own and priced by monthly views, or all of them together in an all-apps pack.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Elfsight, taken from its own pages and our grades.

The popup itself is basic, though, and each app is priced on its own unless you buy the all-apps pack.

The report card

Best for popups alongside reviews, feeds and chat

Elfsight is a library of 90+ website widgets, and the popup is just one of them: there are Google review feeds, social feeds, chat buttons, forms and cookie banners too. They paste into almost any site builder. The popup itself is basic, though, and each app is priced on its own unless you buy the all-apps pack.

ToolGPA report cardElfsightGraded Oct 18, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyCGraded on the popup app alone. Every widget load counts as a view, so a site-wide popup on a site with 20,000 visitors passes Pro's 50,000 views. Premium is $20 a month billed yearly ($24 monthly), a touch above the cheapest popup tools here. Other widgets cost extra.
Free plan and trialCFree forever, but just 1 widget and 200 views a month, with Elfsight branding, and the widget switches off for the month once it hits that. A popup on a site with real traffic is done on day one.
FeaturesCSet beside its listed alternatives, which is fairer for a library of 90+ widgets: the popup handles sales, sign-ups, feedback and cart reminders on chosen pages, with time and action triggers. No A/B tests or email-tool links on record, so it's the basics.
Ease of useCNo rating on record. Each widget is set up from templates in a live editor and pasted in with a short code, and support will install it for you on paid plans. Easy, but you're still building it.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb only, but widgets install on 100+ platforms, including Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, WordPress, Shopify and Framer, or any HTML site. No desktop or phone app, so B is the top.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Elfsight is for

  • Great if you're on Squarespace, Wix or Webflow and want widgets without code
  • Handy when you need a popup plus a Google reviews feed or a chat button
  • Good for agencies, with projects and collaborators from Pro

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you want to A/B test popups, as nothing on record says this one can
  • Tight if you're on the free plan, which stops at 200 views a month
  • Not for you if traffic spikes worry you, as a widget switches off for the month at its view limit

Good to know

Good for

  • Small sites that need a popup plus reviews, a feed or a chat button
  • Squarespace, Wix and Webflow users adding features without code
  • Agencies building widgets for many client sites

Worth knowing

  • Single-app plans cover one widget type; a popup and a review feed are two subscriptions unless you buy the all-apps pack.
  • The free plan allows only 200 views a month, and any plan's widget is switched off for the month once its view limit is reached.
  • Every widget load counts as a view, including loads through a share link.
  • Plans can be refunded in full for any reason within 14 days.

Part 04 · Standing

Where it stands

Its grades against its category, and whether to keep it or make your own

2/12

Other popup and widget tools it is graded above

Elfsight's GPA of 2.2 is higher than 2 of the 12 other popup and widget tools we grade, and level with 4.

It stands best on platforms and integrations (B, above 0 of 12) and worst on features (C, above 0).

Its paid plans start at $5 a month, against a middle price of $19 for the category: 1 of the 11 others that charge start lower.

On features, ease of use and platforms it scores 2.3 out of 4. Nothing scores higher for less, though at least one tool matches that score at a lower price.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace Elfsight you would be making a builder that other people can use without writing code. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 6 of the 12 other popup and widget tools grade higher. It costs $60 a year.

What you could make

  • Popups, forms and templates: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A builder that other people can use without writing code.
  • A chatbot builder hooked into the messaging apps.
  • It plugs into other products, Squarespace, Wix and Webflow among them.
  • Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
  • Sharing with other people, which means accounts and invitations.

What this rests on. Elfsight’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
