    Turn auto-join on, or the free plan stops at 3 transcripts

    Its help page says free accounts made since 1 September 2026 only get unlimited transcripts with Auto-join calendar meetings switched on, under Settings, Meeting Settings. Leave it off, or pick the option that only joins when you invite it, and you're held to 3.

    Privacy

    Anyone with the link can open your meetings until you change it

    New meetings start on "Teammates & anyone with link", so a forwarded recap opens for whoever gets it. Change it in Settings, Personal tab, Recording & Privacy, under Privacy & Access. You can apply the new choice to all your past meetings too, not just future ones.

    Keep private calls out with restriction rules

    Under Settings, Recording & Privacy, Recording Rules, you can add restriction rules that skip any meeting with a word like "confidential" in the title, or with people from a given email domain. Fireflies says these rules always win over your auto-join settings.

    Shortcut

    Hold Fn on a Mac to dictate into any app with Fireflies Talk

    The desktop app's default dictation key is Fn on a Mac and Ctrl + Windows on a PC. Hold it and talk. Double-tap the same keys for hands-free mode, so you don't have to keep holding them down.

    Renewal

    AI credits move you up a tier on their own unless you stop it

    Its billing terms say Auto-Upgrade is on by default: run out of AI credits and you're moved to the next tier up for future billing periods. Switch it off in Settings, Billing if you'd rather the credit features just pause. AI credits are non-refundable.

    Leaving

    Cancelling the plan doesn't stop the notetaker joining calls

    Cancel and you drop to Free at the end of the billing period, but the account is still there. Its help page says that's why the bot can keep joining, and that deleting the account is what stops it. Deleting removes your data, so export first.

    Free users can still ask for a full export of their meetings

    Free plans can't download transcripts one by one, but Fireflies says it does full data exports for all users on request: recordings as MP3 or MP4, transcripts and summaries as text. It takes 24 to 48 hours, and the download link only lasts 7 days.

Fireflies writes its refund rules down, which is more than most AI tools do, and even shows the arithmetic. Seven days to change your mind, full money back if you have barely used it, pro-rated on monthly if you have. The catch is that the window is short, you have to ask support for it, and AI credits are never refundable. Cancelling is four clicks in Settings and your transcripts stay. That is a B.

Fireflies states a full refund on a monthly plan active for 7 days or less with 3 meetings or fewer logged, and a pro-rated one if either condition is missed. On an annual plan a full refund needs 7 days or less and 20 meetings or fewer, and pro-rated refunds are not offered. Refunds cover subscription plans only, not AI credits add-ons, take 5 to 10 business days, and need a card saved on the account.

How to cancel Fireflies.ai

A subscription is cancelled in the Fireflies web app under Settings, then Account, then the Subscriptions section. The terms add that you may cancel at any time through your account settings, that cancellation takes effect at the end of the current subscription period, and that you must cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge. An AI credits subscription is cancelled separately.

  2. Go to Account in the left panel
  3. Scroll to the Subscriptions section and click Cancel beside your active plan
  4. Choose a reason for cancelling from the drop-down, add any feedback, then click Continue
  5. Skip or read the suggestions the AI assistant offers, then click Proceed With Cancellation
  6. Click Cancel Subscription, or Cancel Team Subscription on a team plan, to confirm

What you keep afterwards

Paid features stay until the end of the billing cycle and then the account switches to the Free plan, with no further charge. Fireflies says cancelling does not delete anything: existing meetings, transcripts and recordings stay in the notebook within Free plan limits. Deleting the account is a different thing and permanently removes the workspace and its data.

Renewals

The terms say a recurring subscription continues until you cancel, and that you authorise Fireflies to charge the fee at the start of each subsequent period. They add that you must cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period to avoid the next charge, and that price changes come with at least 30 days' notice. No reminder before a renewal is mentioned.

  • Seven days is a short window, and you have to ask support rather than click a button.

You can always get a message to Fireflies, through the chat widget in the app or by writing in, and the knowledge base behind it is genuinely large. What is missing is any promise about the answer: no hours, no reply time, and the only thing the pricing table says is that priority support starts on Business. That is where most software sits, and it is a C.

    The pricing page's FAQ invites remaining questions to the Fireflies support address and says the team will respond as quickly as it can, without giving a time.

Watch out for

  • No page states when support works or how quickly it aims to reply.

  • A dedicated account manager and onboarding are Enterprise-only, and Enterprise has no public price.
  • There is no phone number anywhere, and no promise that a person answers the widget at once.
