Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.0

GPA, above 2 of the 69 other daily planner apps we grade

Koala For Work is a planning workspace built for professionals with ADHD, made by a UK company. You describe what is on your plate by typing, speaking or uploading, and Koala breaks it into steps sized in minutes, plans them across your days within the deep-work hours you set, and moves whatever is unfinished to the next day overnight. It is in beta, runs in the browser with a Windows desktop beta alongside, and has a single plan at £18 a month after a 14-day free trial.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Koala For Work, taken from its own pages and our grades.

The report card

Best for breaking work into steps when you have ADHD

Koala For Work is built for professionals with ADHD who get stuck on where to start. Tell it what's on your plate and it breaks the work into steps sized in minutes, plans them inside the deep-work hours you set, and moves whatever's left to tomorrow. But it's still in beta, the Mac app isn't out, there are no phone apps, and £18 a month is about four times what most planners here charge.

ToolGPA report cardKoala For WorkGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyDOne plan at £18 a month, which is around four times the $5.99 a month that sits in the middle of this category and well past its dearest tenth. It's priced in pounds only, and the sole yearly rate is the Founding 250 membership at £180.
Free plan and trialCNo free plan. You get 14 days free with no card needed to start, and then it's £18 a month.
FeaturesCIt does the breaking-down job: work described in your words comes back as minute-sized steps, planned up to your deep-work hours, rescheduled overnight when it slips, with blocks written around your meetings. The gaps are its own: it's a beta, and the site says more integrations are coming.
Ease of useCNo store rating on record. You type, speak or upload what's on your plate and the plan comes back made, but first you set deep-work hours and connect Google or Outlook. And this is beta software: the desktop app is version 0.1.0.
Platforms and integrationsBA web app with a Windows desktop beta, wired to Google and Outlook calendars, Granola notes and AI assistants over MCP. The Mac app is awaiting Apple's approval, and the download page lists no phone apps at all.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Koala For Work is for

  • Fits if you have ADHD and breaking work into steps is the hard part
  • Works for UK students whose Disabled Students' Allowance can pay for it

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you plan on your phone, as the download page lists no phone apps
  • Pricey if you just want a daily planner, at £18 a month with no free plan
  • Not for you if beta software makes you nervous: the Windows app is version 0.1.0 and the Mac app awaits Apple's approval
  • Watch out: prices are in pounds only, and the only yearly rate is the Founding 250 membership at £180
  • Too light for linking other tools yet: Google and Outlook calendars, Granola and MCP, with more only promised

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Koala For Work you could make: tasks, time blocking and natural-language input. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 62 of the 69 other daily planner apps grade higher. It costs $285.56 a year.

What you could make

  • Tasks, time blocking and natural-language input: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • A scheduler that rearranges your day as things move.
  • A library of sound you would have to license.
  • A real app for Windows. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.

What this rests on. Koala For Work’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
