Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.0

GPA, above 1 of the 19 other business phone systems we grade

KrispCall is a cloud phone system for calling and texting from a browser dialer, a browser extension or the iOS and Android apps. Each user gets a free US, Canada or UK number, and plans include a monthly allowance of minutes and US and Canada text segments. Higher plans add call recording, a power dialer, bulk SMS and CRM integrations.

To get you started, here are 8 things to know about KrispCall, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for cheap per-person numbers with minutes included

But there's no free trial, the minutes run out on Starter, and the desktop apps aren't out yet.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $12 a month for each person

As its pricing page puts it: $12 per user / month, billed annually ($15 billed monthly).

  3. 3

    It runs on 3 platforms

Web, iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.

  4. 4

    Free number per user

Every user gets one local US or Canada number, or a UK local or mobile number, at no charge. Numbers in 100+ other countries cost extra and need ID checks.

  5. 5

    Included minutes and texts

Plans bundle outbound calls to local US, Canada, UK and Australia numbers, inbound minutes and pooled US/Canada SMS segments, under a fair-use policy.

  6. 6

    IVR and call monitoring

Multi-level IVR on every plan, and call monitoring and coaching from Starter up: listening, whispering and barging into live calls.

  7. 7

    A 2.0 GPA, above 1 of 19

That is against the other business phone systems we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  8. 8

    Keep it

To replace KrispCall you would be making phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card

Best for cheap per-person numbers with minutes included

KrispCall is one of the cheaper ways to give a small team business numbers: $12 a person a month on yearly billing, with a free US, Canada or UK number each and a bundle of minutes and texts. But there's no free trial, the minutes run out on Starter, and the desktop apps aren't out yet.

ToolGPA report cardKrispCallGraded Oct 17, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyB$12 a head for five on Starter, billed yearly ($15 monthly), inside this category's cheaper quarter ($14). Starter stops at 5 users, though, so a sixth person means Advance at $32.
Free plan and trialFNo free plan and no free trial. There's a 14-day refund on the subscription only, not on numbers, credits or add-ons, and a refund isn't a trial.
FeaturesCCalls, texts, multi-level IVR and call monitoring on every plan, with a power dialer and bulk SMS from Advance. The gap is the minutes: Starter bundles 200 outbound and 200 inbound a person, and call transcripts are an add-on.
Ease of useCNo App Store rating on record. There's A2P registration to finish before US texting works, and minutes and credits to keep an eye on.
Platforms and integrationsBA browser dialer, a browser extension and iPhone and Android apps, with HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho, monday.com, Slack and an API. The Windows, Mac and Linux apps are marked coming soon.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.0

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who KrispCall is for

  • Great if you want a cheap business number per person with minutes thrown in
  • Handy when you call the US, Canada, the UK and Australia
  • Good for small sales teams wanting a power dialer without a seat minimum

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you want to try it first, as there's no free trial
  • Tight if you're on the phone all day, since Starter covers 200 outbound minutes a person
  • Not for you if you need a desktop app today, as those are still coming soon

Good to know

Good for

  • Small teams that want a cheap per-user number with minutes included
  • Teams calling the US, Canada, UK and Australia
  • Sales teams that want a power dialer and bulk SMS without a seat minimum

Worth knowing

  • There is no free trial or free plan; paid plans carry a 14-day refund on the subscription only, not on numbers, credits or add-ons.
  • Starter is capped at 5 users and Advance at 50. The desktop apps for Windows, Mac and Linux are marked coming soon.
  • Texting US numbers needs A2P 10DLC registration: a $4.50 brand fee and a $15 vetting fee once, then $1.50 or $2 a month per campaign.
  • The pricing FAQ still says calls and SMS are billed pay-as-you-go, while the plan cards list included minutes and texts; usage beyond them is billed from credit.

Part 04 · Standing

Where it stands

Its grades against its category, and whether to keep it or make your own

1/19

Other business phone systems it is graded above

KrispCall's GPA of 2.0 is higher than 1 of the 19 other business phone systems we grade, and level with 2.

It stands best on value for money (B, above 15 of 19) and worst on free plan and trial (F, above 0).

Its paid plans start at $12 a month for each person, against a middle price of $19 for the category: 2 of the 16 others that charge start lower.

On features, ease of use and platforms it scores 2.3 out of 4. Nothing scores higher for less, though at least one tool matches that score at a lower price.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace KrispCall you would be making phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 16 of the 19 other business phone systems grade higher. It costs $144 a year.

What you could not

  • Phone numbers and calls carried over the phone network.
  • Texts from a business number, registered with the carriers.
  • A real app for iOS and Android. Something home-made would be a web page.
  • It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
  • It plugs into other products, HubSpot, Salesforce and Pipedrive among them, and has an API.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • People on the other end: coaches. No app builder makes those.

What this rests on. KrispCall’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
