Part 01 · Overview
Welcome
What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first
1.8
GPA, above 1 of the 14 other webinar and live streaming tools we grade
Livestorm is a webinar platform that runs in the browser, for live, on-demand and automated webinars aimed mostly at marketing, sales and training teams. It covers registration pages, reminder emails, the event room with chat, polls and Q&A, and replays. Paid plans are bought as a yearly pack of attendee credits: one credit is used each time a person joins a session, live or later, while no-shows and team members cost nothing.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Livestorm, taken from its own pages and our grades.
The catch is how you pay: a yearly pack of attendee credits.
- 1
Best for browser webinars that charge per attendee
Livestorm runs webinars in the browser, live, on demand or automated, and nobody needs to download anything to join.
- 2
Paid plans start at $100 a month when paid by the year
As its pricing page puts it: $1,200 per year for up to 400 attendee credits.
- 3
There is a free plan
Free plan with no time limit: 30 attendee credits a year, events of up to 30 minutes, 10 events per organization and 20 sessions per event. Custom emails and premium features are not included.
- 4
It runs on Web
Web.
- 5
Browser event room
Attendees join from a browser with nothing to install. Up to 25 speakers can be on screen, with chat, polls, Q&A with upvotes, emoji reactions and file, slide and video sharing.
- 6
Registration pages and email cadences
Brandable registration pages with custom fields, an embeddable sign-up widget, a company page of upcoming and past events, and unlimited reminder and follow-up emails.
- 7
On-demand and automated events
Events can be set to start, end or play a video on their own, offered on demand for people to watch at any time, or split into several sessions under one link.
- 8
A 1.8 GPA, above 1 of 14
That is against the other webinar and live streaming tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.
- 9
Keep it
To replace Livestorm you would be making live video to hundreds of people at once. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card
Best for browser webinars that charge per attendee
Livestorm runs webinars in the browser, live, on demand or automated, and nobody needs to download anything to join. The catch is how you pay: a yearly pack of attendee credits. A webinar every month for up to 100 people can use 1,200 credits a year, which is past the 1,000-credit tier at $2,900.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | F | A monthly webinar for up to 100 people can use 1,200 credits a year, more than the 1,000-credit tier at $2,900 a year. That's several times what Zoom Webinars or GoTo Webinar charge for the same job, and unused credits don't roll over. Its pricing page and help centre don't show the same dollar figures, either. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free forever, but it's built for trying things out: 30 attendee credits a year, 30-minute events and 10 events per organization. That's a small test webinar or two, not a monthly habit. |
| Features | C | The whole webinar job is here: registration pages, reminder emails, a browser room with 25 speakers, polls and Q&A, on-demand and automated events, and replays with captions. The gaps: HubSpot and Salesforce sync are Enterprise only, and restreaming is an add-on sold through sales. |
| Ease of use | C | No App Store rating on record. Attendees just open a browser, which is the easy half. You still build registration pages and email cadences, and watch your credits, since new attendees can't join once they run out on Pro. |
| Platforms and integrations | B | Web only, with no desktop or phone app listed, but it connects to HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Pardot, Brevo and Zapier, and has an MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT. The big CRM links are Enterprise only. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who Livestorm is for
- Great if your audience should join from a browser with nothing to install
- Handy when you run a few small webinars a year and only want to pay for who turns up
- Good for teams that add lots of colleagues, since team members are unlimited and free
Who it is not for
- Pricey if you run a webinar every month for up to 100 people, at $2,900 a year for 1,000 credits
- Skip it if you need HubSpot or Salesforce sync without an Enterprise contract
- Tight if your audience comes back for several sessions, since each session uses another credit
Good to know
Good for
- Marketing teams running regular lead-generation webinars
- Customer and employee training sessions repeated on a schedule
- Teams whose audience should join from a browser with no download
- Companies that want to pay for attendees rather than registrations
Worth knowing
- Credits are a yearly pack that does not roll over; once they run out on Pro, new attendees cannot join until you move to a higher tier.
- One credit is used per person per session, so someone who joins three sessions of an event uses three credits.
- Native HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Pardot and Microsoft Dynamics integrations are Enterprise only.
- Restreaming, RTMP, live translations and SAML SSO are add-ons sold through sales, and need a Pro plan of at least 1,000 credits.

Livestorm's GPA of 1.8 is higher than 1 of the 14 other webinar and live streaming tools we grade, and level with 2.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Keep it
To replace Livestorm you would be making live video to hundreds of people at once. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.
That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 11 of the 14 other webinar and live streaming tools grade higher. It costs $1,200 a year.
What you could not
- Live video to hundreds of people at once.
- One live stream sent to several platforms at once.
- It plugs into other products, HubSpot, Salesforce and Marketo among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
- Hooks into the device itself: widgets.
What this rests on. Livestorm’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
