Vimcal is a calendar app aimed at founders, executives, investors and others with a high volume of meetings. It syncs with Google Calendar and Outlook and concentrates on quick availability sharing, time zone handling and keyboard shortcuts. The iOS app is free; desktop apps, booking links and polls come with the paid plan, and a separate Vimcal EA edition is built for executive assistants.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Vimcal, taken from its own pages and our grades.

You drag over free slots, paste them into an email, and it handles the time zones.

The report card

Best for people whose week is wall-to-wall meetings

Vimcal is a calendar for people who schedule all day: founders, investors, executive assistants. You drag over free slots, paste them into an email, and it handles the time zones. But it costs $25 a month billed yearly, four times a typical calendar app, the free version is the iPhone app only, there's no Android app, it supports only Google and Outlook, and payments are non-refundable unless agreed in writing.

ToolGPA report cardVimcalGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyD$25 a month billed yearly ($300), or $35 monthly, which is where the dearest tenth of calendar tools begins and four times the $6 middle. Vimcal EA is $68.75. Their terms say payments are non-refundable unless agreed in writing.
Free plan and trialCThe iPhone app is free, with drag-and-copy availability, time zone conversion and duplicate merging. But desktop apps, booking links and polls are all paid, so the free version is a phone calendar. There's a card-free trial of the paid plan, 14 days by the EA page.
FeaturesBDrag-to-share availability, unlimited booking links, polls, overlapping working hours across time zones, a keyboard shortcut for every action and a Focus Mode with a pomodoro timer. Google and Outlook show in one view with duplicates merged. That covers the job, but only for those two calendar providers.
Ease of useB4.67 from about 470 App Store ratings: too few people and a shade too low for an A. Vimcal advertises response times under 100 ms and a shortcut for every action, and the web version needs no install.
Platforms and integrationsBWeb, Mac, Windows and iPhone, with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams on top of Google Calendar and Outlook. But the site lists no Android app, so half the phones out there are left out, and there's no API.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.4

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Vimcal is for

  • Works for assistants running several executives' calendars, which Vimcal EA at $68.75 a month is built for

  • Skip it if you're on Android, as the site lists no Android app
  • Not for you if your calendar lives in iCloud, because it supports only Google Calendar and Outlook
  • Tight if you stay free, since desktop apps, booking links and polls are all paid and free is iPhone only
  • Watch out: the terms say payments are non-refundable unless agreed in writing

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Vimcal you could make: calendar and Pomodoro timer. What surrounds it you could not. The 5 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 45 of the 74 other calendar and scheduling apps grade higher. It costs $300 a year.

What you could make

  • Calendar and Pomodoro timer: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Booking pages that read and write other people's calendars and send the emails.
  • Apps for macOS, Windows and iOS that stay in step with each other.
  • It plugs into other products, Google Calendar, Outlook and Zoom among them.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Vimcal’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
