Value for money
AThere's nothing to buy. Several accounts in one view, scheduling links and Notion databases are all free. Fantastical keeps its booking links for the $4.75 a month plan.
C$25 a month billed yearly ($300), or $35 monthly. A typical calendar app starts around $6, and the dear ones around $10. The assistant edition, Vimcal EA, is $68.75. Their terms say payments are non-refundable unless agreed in writing.
Free plan and trial
AThe whole app is free on every device, with no paid tier of its own. You do sign in with a Notion account, and Notion's free plan covers it.
BThe iPhone app is free, with drag-and-copy availability, time zone conversion and duplicate merging. But desktop apps, booking links and polls are all paid. There's a free trial of the paid plan with no card needed.
Features
BOn a computer you get scheduling links, time zones side by side, busy slots blocked across calendars and a shortcut for everything. But there's no travel time, and the phone app does far less.
ADrag-to-share availability, unlimited booking links, polls, overlapping working hours across time zones and a keyboard shortcut for every action. Google and Outlook show in one view with duplicates merged. It only works with those two, though.
Ease of use
B4.7 from about 7,600 App Store ratings, and reviewers like how calm it looks. But iCloud needs an app-specific password from Apple, and this year's reviews mention events vanishing on the phone.
A4.7 from about 470 App Store ratings. Vimcal advertises response times under 100 ms, and you can use it straight in the browser without installing anything.
Platforms and integrations
BWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android, reading Google, iCloud and Outlook calendars. But there's no Linux app, Outlook calendars aren't on the phone apps yet, and the only API is a link that opens an event.
BWeb, Mac, Windows and iPhone, with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams built in on top of Google Calendar and Outlook. But the site lists no Android app, so half the phones out there are left out.
