Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.4

GPA, above 27 of the 123 other to-do list apps we grade

Zenkit To Do is a task list app in the Zenkit product suite. Tasks go into an Inbox, lists and folders, smart lists such as Today and Assigned to Me collect what is due, and lists can be shared with assignments and comments. It runs on the web, iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux with offline access. Its pricing link now leads to the per-seat Zenkit suite plans, which start with a 14-day trial.

To get you started, here are 9 things to know about Zenkit To Do, taken from its own pages and our grades.

But you start by setting up a Zenkit organization and seats, not by typing a task.
From our grade for ease of use

  6. 6

    Due dates, reminders and repeaters

Tasks take due dates and reminders, and repeaters create recurring tasks at intervals you choose, including on workdays only.

  7. 7

    Shared lists, assignments and comments

Lists and folders can be shared with other people, tasks assigned to members, and comments with @mentions keep the discussion on the task.

The report card

Best for shared task lists on every platform, Linux included

Zenkit To Do is a shared task list with built-in views such as Today and Assigned to Me, on web, phones, Windows, macOS and Linux with offline access. It isn't sold on its own: the pricing link leads to the Zenkit suite at $8 a seat a month billed annually, before VAT, and no free plan shows after the 14-day trial. Help pages and the App Store still mention a Free plan and a $3.99 purchase, so it's hard to know what you'd pay.

ToolGPA report cardZenkit To DoGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyDYou can't buy To Do on its own. Its pricing link lands on the Zenkit suite, where Plus is $8 a seat a month billed annually, or $9 monthly, before VAT. That's double what a to-do app usually starts at, iCal sync and user roles need Team at $12, and the API waits on Business at $21.
Free plan and trialCNo free plan shows on the pricing page, just a 14-day trial of all premium features, and the listing doesn't say whether it asks for a card. After the trial, an organization with no subscription may be left able to do nothing but export its data.
FeaturesBThe whole job is covered: an Inbox, folders, smart lists such as Today and This Week, reminders, repeating tasks including workdays only, subtasks, attachments, and shared lists with assignments and comments, all of it offline too. Plus does cap you at 10 users, 50 lists and 20,000 items.
Ease of useCNo rating on record. Tasks drop into an Inbox and smart lists gather what's due, which is familiar enough, and the site courts people leaving Wunderlist or Microsoft To Do. But you start by setting up a Zenkit organization and seats, not by typing a task.
Platforms and integrationsAWeb, iPhone, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux, all synced and all working offline. Files attach from Dropbox, Box or Google Drive, tasks open in Zenkit's project tool with Kanban and Gantt views, and there's API access, though only on Business at $21 a seat.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.4

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who Zenkit To Do is for

  • Fits if your team already uses other Zenkit products, since the tasks are shared with them
  • Works for teams that need the same list on Windows, macOS, Linux and phones, offline too

Who it is not for

  • Skip it if you want a free to-do list: no free plan shows after the 14-day trial, and you may be left only able to export
  • Pricey if all you need is a list, at $8 a seat a month billed annually, or $9 monthly, plus VAT
  • Tight if your team is growing, because Plus stops at 10 users, 50 lists and 20,000 items
  • Watch out: iCal sync and user roles need Team at $12 a seat, and the API needs Business at $21
  • Watch out: the App Store shows a Plus purchase at $3.99 and $35.99 and help pages name a Free plan the pricing page lacks

Good to know

Good for

  • Teams that already use other Zenkit products
  • Moving lists over from Wunderlist, Microsoft To Do or Asana
  • People who want desktop apps on Windows, macOS and Linux

Worth knowing

  • To Do is not priced on its own: its pricing link leads to the Zenkit suite plans, which are charged per seat and exclude VAT.
  • No free plan appears on the pricing page. After the 14-day trial, an organization without a subscription may be limited to exporting its data.
  • Plus is capped at 10 users, 50 lists and 20,000 items, and leaves out iCal integration, user roles and email to project.
  • The US App Store listing shows a Zenkit To Do Plus in-app purchase at $3.99 and $35.99 with no period, and help articles still name a Free plan.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

The plain part of Zenkit To Do you could make: tasks and Markdown. What surrounds it you could not. The 4 things listed below take a company, not a weekend.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 76 of the 123 other to-do list apps grade higher. It costs $96 a year.

What you could make

  • Tasks and Markdown: an app builder makes these well.

What you could not

  • Apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
  • It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
  • It plugs into other products, Dropbox, Box and Google Drive among them.
  • The depth: we grade its features B, which means it covers the whole job.

What this rests on. Zenkit To Do’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
