Who each one suits

Adalo

  • Non-developers who want one project to ship to iOS, Android and the web
  • Apps built around a relational database, such as bookings or directories
  • Buyers who want a flat monthly fee with no usage-based charges

Glide

  • Operations teams whose processes currently live in spreadsheets
  • Internal tools such as inventory, work order and vendor management apps
  • Teams that want several apps sharing one set of live data

Worth knowing

Adalo

  • The Free plan lists 0 published apps and 500 records per app; custom domains and app store publishing start on Starter.
  • Plans cap published apps and editors: Starter allows 1 app and 1 editor, Professional 2 apps and 5 editors.
  • Custom actions, external collections, push notifications and geolocation need Professional or above.
  • Publishing to the app stores also needs an Apple Developer account ($99 a year) and a Google Play account ($25 one-time).

Glide

  • Free plan credits do not renew, and apps cannot be published without a paid plan.
  • GlideOS needs its own subscription and cannot be reached through Glide Classic, which has separate plans.
  • Monthly credits reset each billing cycle; extra credits are sold on paid plans only and last 12 months.
  • Basic covers 2 team members and Plus 3; public apps need Plus, and single sign-on needs Enterprise.

Key features

Adalo

Visual multi-screen canvas
Every screen of an app sits on one drag-and-drop canvas, assembled from more than 200 components, and can be previewed on a mobile device.
Ada AI assistant
Ada builds and edits an app from natural-language prompts. It is labeled beta, is included on every plan, and is not charged by tokens or usage.
Native iOS, Android and web output
One app version publishes as a responsive web app and as native iOS and Android builds. Publishing to the App Store and Google Play starts on Starter.
Built-in Postgres database
Each app has a hosted relational database with collections and 8 data types. Free allows 500 records per app; paid plans measure storage per team, from 5GB.
External data and custom actions
From Professional, apps can call any REST API through custom actions and external collections and can connect Google Sheets. The Xano integration needs Team.
Payments and automation
Stripe payments are available on every plan. Zapier can act on data changes on Free and Starter, and on any action from Professional.

Glide

Spreadsheet-to-app building
Upload a spreadsheet or file and GlideOS reads its structure, data and logic, then proposes the screens and workflows for an app built on it.
Chat-based editing
Changes are requested in chat. You can highlight a page, a component or a piece of text and prompt for a change to that element alone.
Shared project data
Apps in a project read and write the same live tables, which can come from Google Sheets, uploaded Excel or CSV files, or tables GlideOS creates.
Workflows
Automated routines run on a schedule, from a webhook or on demand, using the same data as the apps. Basic allows 1 enabled workflow and Plus 5.
Integrations
The integrations directory lists more than 1,000 services, including Gmail, Slack, Airtable and Salesforce. Premium integrations need the Pro plan.
Bring your own agent
On Pro, an MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other clients build and deploy apps on Glide, which supplies hosting, data and permissions.
