How we grade them
| 2.8GPAGlideGood | 3.0GPASoftrVery good | |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | CBasic is $25 a month, the top end of typical, and it's a small plan: 100 credits, 2 team members, 2 published apps and 1 enabled workflow. Public apps need Plus, from $50. Unlimited apps and workflows, premium integrations and MCP need Pro, from $125. | CBasic is $19 a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly, which is a typical price. But it stops at 5 team and 5 client users with no add-ons, and gives 10 AI credits a month. Removing Softr branding, custom code and granular permissions wait for Pro, at $99. |
| Free plan and trial | CThe Free plan has a limited credit allowance that doesn't reset or renew, and you can't publish an app or switch on a workflow with it. That makes it a trial, not a plan to stay on. The listing doesn't say whether you need a card. | BThe Free plan is roomy in places: unlimited apps, databases, workflows and forms, with up to 3 builders. But it stops at 5 app users, 5K records, 500 workflow actions and 5 AI credits a month. Fine for a tiny team tool, tight for anything with clients. |
| Features | AIt's built for internal business apps and does that job fully. Upload a spreadsheet and it reads the structure, then proposes screens and workflows. Apps in a project share live tables, workflows run on a schedule or from a webhook, and the directory lists more than 1,000 integrations. | AA prompt produces the pages, database, permissions and workflows, and you refine them with blocks such as lists, charts, calendars and forms. Data lives in Softr or stays live in Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion, HubSpot or SQL. Logins, user groups and automated workflows are built in. |
| Ease of use | BYou start from a spreadsheet you already have, then ask for changes in chat. Highlight one component and you can prompt for a change to just that. We have no App Store rating on record for it, so a B. | BAI drafts the app and you edit it visually with pre-built blocks, not generated code. Your data can stay in the spreadsheet you already use. We have no App Store rating on record for it, so a B. |
| Platforms and integrations | BA web app, and the apps it builds run in desktop and mobile browsers. No phone or desktop app is listed. It connects to a lot, though: Google Sheets, Excel, Airtable, Salesforce, Slack and QuickBooks, with an MCP server on Pro. | BSoftr is a web app, with no desktop or phone app listed for building. It connects to Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion, HubSpot, Salesforce, Supabase and monday.com, and the Softr API and MCP are on the Free plan. An installable phone version of your app needs Business. |

Worth knowing
Glide
- Free plan credits do not renew, and apps cannot be published without a paid plan.
- GlideOS needs its own subscription and cannot be reached through Glide Classic, which has separate plans.
- Monthly credits reset each billing cycle; extra credits are sold on paid plans only and last 12 months.
- Basic covers 2 team members and Plus 3; public apps need Plus, and single sign-on needs Enterprise.
Softr
- Every plan caps app users: 5 on Free, 5 team and 5 client users on Basic, with paid add-ons only from Pro.
- Removing Softr branding, custom code and granular permissions start on Pro, at $99 a month billed yearly.
- Extra builders cost $5 to $20 a month each depending on the plan, on top of the 1 to 3 included.
- Workflows pause when the monthly action limit is reached, until it renews or the workspace is upgraded.
Key features
Glide
- Spreadsheet-to-app building
- Upload a spreadsheet or file and GlideOS reads its structure, data and logic, then proposes the screens and workflows for an app built on it.
- Chat-based editing
- Changes are requested in chat. You can highlight a page, a component or a piece of text and prompt for a change to that element alone.
- Shared project data
- Apps in a project read and write the same live tables, which can come from Google Sheets, uploaded Excel or CSV files, or tables GlideOS creates.
- Workflows
- Automated routines run on a schedule, from a webhook or on demand, using the same data as the apps. Basic allows 1 enabled workflow and Plus 5.
- Integrations
- The integrations directory lists more than 1,000 services, including Gmail, Slack, Airtable and Salesforce. Premium integrations need the Pro plan.
- Bring your own agent
- On Pro, an MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other clients build and deploy apps on Glide, which supplies hosting, data and permissions.
Softr
- AI app builder
- A prompt produces the pages, layouts, database structure, permissions and workflows for an app, which can then be refined with AI or edited visually.
- Pre-built blocks and Vibe Coding
- Apps are assembled from blocks such as lists, grids, charts, calendars and forms. A Vibe Coding block generates a custom, data-connected interface from a prompt.
- Softr Databases and data sources
- Store data in Softr's relational databases or connect live to Airtable, Google Sheets, Notion, HubSpot, Salesforce, Supabase and SQL databases.
- Users, logins and permissions
- Built-in login supports email and password, magic links, Google sign-in and SSO, with user groups controlling what each person can see and do.
- Workflows
- Softr Workflows automate manual processes, with a monthly cap on actions: 500 on Free, 2.5K on Basic, 10K on Pro and 25K on Business.
- Mobile apps
- Apps can be delivered as an installable mobile app (PWA) with push notifications. Both are listed on the Business plan.
