Worth knowing
Easy Diary
- Android only: there is no iOS, desktop or web version.
- There is no sync service; moving entries to another phone means a Google Drive backup and restore.
- The FOSS build flavor leaves out Google Mobile Services, so it has no Google Drive backup, and new features reach it later.
- The README credits the app's English text to machine translation.
My Diary
- Both app stores label the app as containing advertising, and some themes and backgrounds require Premium.
- Phone and tablet only: no web or desktop version is listed.
- The vendor's site shows no prices, and the App Store lists several yearly and permanent purchases at different prices without explaining them.
- Google Drive and Dropbox sync and TXT or PDF export are described for the app in general; the App Store listing for iPhone and iPad does not mention them.

- Writing by keyboard or voice
- Entries are created and edited with the keyboard or with voice recognition, and photos can be attached to them.
- Search, calendar and timeline
- Search highlights the matching keywords in saved entries. A calendar shows entries by day, and a timeline lists them in chronological order.
- Diary postcards
- An entry and its attached photo can be turned into a postcard image to share with friends, for example for an anniversary or a holiday greeting.
- PIN and fingerprint lock
- The app can be locked and unlocked with a personal identification number or with fingerprint recognition.
- Themes and fonts
- There are 171 color themes plus a color picker for text and background. TTF fonts copied into the app's font directory can be used as well.
