Google Slides vs Pitch
We give Google Slides a 3.8 GPA and Pitch a 3.4, out of 4.0. Google Slides grades higher on value for money and ease of use. Pitch grades higher on features. They get the same grade on the free plan and platforms.

How we grade them
| 3.8GPAGoogle SlidesExcellent | 3.4GPAPitchVery good | |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | AFree for personal use, which is all most people need. For a business it comes inside Google Workspace from $7 a user a month on a 1-year commitment, with Gmail, Drive and Meet. Gemini in Slides waits until the $14 plan. | CPlus is $13 a seat a month paying yearly, and it covers one person only. That's the dear end of this category, where the middle starts at about $10. The links that track visits need Team, at $19 a seat. |
| Free plan and trial | AA personal Google Account gets you the lot for the basics: create, edit, share, co-edit, comment, templates and offline access. Slides recording and speaker spotlight are held for some Workspace plans. | AFree forever for up to 5 members, with unlimited presentations, custom templates and basic sharing links. Most small teams could stay here. The catches: Pitch branding stays on downloads and share links, and the 100 AI credits never refill. |
| Features | BCo-editing, comments, revision history and editing PowerPoint files without making a copy. Solid. But recordings stop at 30 minutes and only work in Chrome or Edge, and commenters complain you can't bring an SVG image straight into a deck. | AA full slide editor with templates and AI, several people editing at once and assigning slides to each other, links that report visits and time spent per slide, and pitch rooms for clients. There's an API and an MCP connector too. |
| Ease of use | A4.7 from about 413,000 App Store ratings. People who only make simple decks say it covers what they need and prefer it to heavier desktop software. | BWe have no App Store rating on record for it, so a B is the ceiling. You can start from a template or an AI prompt instead of a blank canvas, and a deck goes out as a link with no file to attach. |
| Platforms and integrations | AAny browser, iPhone, iPad and Android, with Google Meet and Drive wired in and an API for developers. No Windows or Mac desktop app is listed, and offline editing on a computer needs Chrome or Edge with an extension. | AWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android. It hooks into Slack, Notion, HubSpot, Google Sheets, Loom and Zapier, and there's an API for building decks from other systems. |
| Best for | free decks a whole team edits together | team decks you send as tracked links |

Who each one suits
Google Slides
- Teams that build and review the same deck together in a browser
- Organizations that already pay for Google Workspace
- Presenters who share their slides in Google Meet calls
Pitch
- Sales and marketing teams that send decks as tracked links
- Teams that co-edit slides and assign them to each other
- Small teams: the free plan covers up to 5 members
Worth knowing
Google Slides
- There is no standalone paid Slides plan; the business version comes only as part of Google Workspace, with Gmail, Drive and Meet.
- Gemini in Slides is not in Business Starter; it starts at Business Standard, $14 per user / month on a 1-year commitment.
- Slides recording and speaker spotlight are not available with a free personal account; Google limits them to some Workspace plans.
- Google's help lists Slides for computer browsers, Android, iPhone and iPad; no Windows or Mac desktop app is listed.
Pitch
- Plus covers a single seat; a workspace with more than one member has to use Team or Business.
- Prices depend on billing country: the US rates here are above the euro, pound and rest-of-world dollar rates of 10, 15 and 20 per seat a month on yearly billing.
- Free-plan AI credits are a one-time 100, and removing Pitch branding from downloads and share links needs a paid plan.
- Advanced links, pitch rooms and workspace roles start at Team; SAML SSO and SCIM are Enterprise only, which needs at least 30 seats.
Key features
Google Slides
- Co-editing and revision history
- Several people can work on the same slide at the same time. Sharing settings control who can view, comment or edit, and revision history restores earlier versions.
- Gemini in Slides
- Generates new slides and images from a prompt, summarizes a presentation, rewrites text and can draw on files in Drive. It requires an eligible Google Workspace or Google AI plan.
- Slides recording
- Records a presenter talking through a deck and saves the video to Drive for sharing. Each recording is limited to 30 minutes and can only be made in Chrome or Edge.
- Presenting in Google Meet
- Slides and Meet controls appear in one place during a call, and speaker spotlight places the presenter's video inside the slide. Both are limited to some Workspace Business and Enterprise plans.
- PowerPoint and Canva files
- PowerPoint presentations can be edited directly without making a copy, or converted to Slides format. Canva presentations can also be imported.
- Offline editing
- Presentations can be opened, created and edited without a connection. On a computer this requires Chrome or Microsoft Edge with the Google Docs Offline extension.
Pitch
- Slide editor and templates
- Start from a blank canvas, a template or AI-generated slides, then adjust every detail by hand. Paid plans add custom fonts and video uploads.
- Live co-editing
- Several people edit a deck at once, assign slides to each other and leave comments. Team and Business add admin, creator and commenter roles, and commenters do not take a paid seat.
- Advanced links
- Share links that track visits, slide views and time spent per slide, and can require a visitor's email or allow PDF download. Team includes 25 and Business is unlimited.
- Pitch rooms
- A pitch room gathers decks and other resources behind one link and shows how a client engages with them. Team includes 2 shared rooms and Business is unlimited.
- AI credits
- AI actions that speed up slide creation draw on credits: 100 one-time credits on Free, 500 per seat a month on Plus and Team, and 750 on Business. Extra credits can be bought.
- MCP and API
- The Pitch MCP connector lets Claude or ChatGPT draft editable, on-brand decks on any plan. The API builds decks from other systems and works with Zapier, Make and HubSpot workflows.
