Who each one suits

Granola

  • People who do not want a recording bot visible in their calls
  • Note-takers who like to type their own points and have them filled out afterwards
  • Back-to-back meeting schedules across Zoom, Google Meet and Teams

Littlebird

  • People who want an assistant that already knows what they were working on
  • Meeting notes without a recording bot in the call
  • Scheduled briefings drawn from your own email, calendar and documents

Worth knowing

Granola

  • The free Basic plan shows only the last 30 days of notes; older notes need a Business subscription to view.
  • Notion, HubSpot, Attio, Affinity and Zapier integrations start on Business; Salesforce, SSO and SCIM are Enterprise only.
  • Basic and Business are billed monthly only; annual billing is offered on Enterprise contracts.
  • There is no web app or browser extension, and the Mac app needs macOS 14 or later.

Littlebird

  • Context is captured only by the Mac and Windows apps, and Windows is in beta. The iOS and Android apps are companions that need the desktop app.
  • The memory it builds is encrypted but stored in the vendor's AWS cloud rather than only on your computer.
  • The Basic plan has daily usage credits and limited meeting notes; image generation and usage packs start at Plus.
  • Vendor pages disagree on Littlebird MCP: the pricing page lists it under Plus, while the MCP page's FAQ says Power and above.

Key features

Granola

Bot-free capture
Transcribes from your device's microphone and system audio, so it works with Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or other call software without adding a participant to the meeting.
Notes built on what you type
Type rough notes during the call and Granola expands them into a full write-up using the transcript. Custom templates control the structure of the result.
Chat across meetings
Ask questions about one meeting or your whole history, such as what you agreed to do this week. Basic uses automatic model choice; paid plans let you pick the model.
Shared folders
Notes are private until you share them. Shared folders give a team a common place for meeting notes and are included on every plan.
MCP and API access
An MCP connection lets assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT read your meeting notes. Basic exposes personal notes from the last 30 days; API access starts on Business.
Phone apps for in-person meetings
The iPhone and Android apps take notes away from the desk, for walking meetings, conferences or coffee catch-ups, and there is an Apple Watch app.

Littlebird

Context from your screen
The desktop app reads the text and elements of your active window every few seconds and builds an encrypted index. The vendor says it takes no screenshots or video and logs no keystrokes.
Chat
Ask about anything you have seen or worked on and get answers and drafts grounded in that history. A Max mode handles longer multi-step reasoning, and chats can be shared or archived.
Meeting Notes
Transcribes and summarizes calls from your computer's audio with no bot joining, in 10+ languages, with action items and decisions. Basic is limited; Plus and above are unlimited.
Routines
A saved prompt that runs daily, weekly or monthly at a set time and sends back the result, such as a morning briefing or a weekly project recap.
Hover
A double-tap of the Option key opens Littlebird over whatever app you are in, so you can ask a question without switching windows. The vendor lists it as Mac-only for now.
Integrations and MCP
Hundreds of optional connectors, including Gmail, Google Calendar and Outlook, let it search and act in other tools. An MCP server exposes your memory to clients such as Claude and Cursor.
