SEO PowerSuite
Four desktop SEO apps for rankings, audits, backlinks and outreach
Which one is for you
Pick GRC if
- Fits if you work in Japan and Yahoo rankings are the ones you report on
- Works for keeping ranking data on your own Windows PC rather than in a web service
Look elsewhere if
- Skip it if you need Google rankings, as GRC no longer checks them, and Bing was removed
- Not for you if you're on a Mac or want it in a browser, as it's Windows only
- Tight if your needs might grow, since a plan can't be changed once its key is issued, and upgrading by paying the difference isn't offered
- Watch out: each PC or Windows user account needs its own licence, and the site is in Japanese only
- Watch out: the free edition's item limit isn't stated, and yearly licences are paid by bank transfer
Pick SEO PowerSuite if
- Fits if you want unlimited keywords and crawls without per-project fees
- Works for link builders who want prospecting and outreach in the same program
Look elsewhere if
- Skip it if you want your SEO tools in a browser or on your phone, as this is desktop software
- Tight if cash is short, since you pay a year or more up front with no refund for unused time
- Not for you if you send client reports, as Professional adds watermarks and white-label needs Enterprise at $599 a year
- Watch out: the free version saves nothing, audits 500 URLs, and there's no trial of the paid plans
- Tight if you want your projects in the cloud, which holds 20 on Professional and 400 on Enterprise
How we grade them
| 2.0GPAGRCFair | 2.4GPASEO PowerSuiteFair | |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | ABasic is ¥495 a month for 5 URLs and 500 keywords, tax included, or ¥4,950 a year. That's a fraction of what rank trackers usually charge, even counting that it now checks Yahoo only. | BGraded against its alternatives. Professional is $349 for a year, about $29.10 a month, or $19.95 a month if you pay $717 for three years. That's about a quarter of what Semrush or Ahrefs charge, with no caps on keywords, crawls or backlinks. |
| Free plan and trial | CA free edition of the same program, with a lower limit on sites and keywords that a paid key raises. The pages read don't say what that limit is. | CA free version with no time limit, but it saves nothing: 1 project, 500 URLs audited, 1,100 backlinks and 1 competitor. Good for a look, not for ongoing work, and there's no trial of the paid plans. |
| Features | DOne-click and scheduled checks, every past position with graphs and notes, competitor and top-site tracking, alerts and CSV export. But it now checks Yahoo only, after Google checks stopped and Bing was removed, so it can't do the job most people want a tracker for. | BRank tracking with 20+ keyword tools, full site audits with a content editor, backlink analysis with a disavow file generator, and link outreach from a built-in email client. The whole job, with nothing capped on paid plans. |
| Ease of use | CNo rating on record. You install it, register sites and keywords and press go, but the site is in Japanese only, and each PC or Windows account needs its own licence. | CNo rating on record. Four separate desktop apps, each with plenty of settings, is a lot to learn before you're quick. |
| Platforms and integrations | DWindows only, with no web, Mac or phone version and no integrations. Standard and up can view another PC's GRC data remotely, but that's as far as it reaches. | CPrograms for Windows, Mac and Linux, linked to Search Console, Google Analytics and Dropbox, with cloud storage for 20 projects on Professional. Computers only, with no web or phone version. |
| Best for | Yahoo rank checks on a Windows PC | uncapped SEO on your own computer |

Worth knowing
GRC
- It now checks Yahoo only: its changelog says Google checks were stopped and Bing checks removed because those engines changed.
- It runs on Windows only, and each PC or Windows user account needs its own license.
- The site is in Japanese and prices are in yen; monthly licenses are paid by PayPal, yearly ones by bank transfer.
- A license plan cannot be changed after the key is issued, and upgrades by paying the difference are not offered.
SEO PowerSuite
- It is desktop software for Windows, macOS and Linux, not a web app; cloud storage holds 20 projects on Professional and 400 on Enterprise.
- Licences are paid up front for 1, 2 or 3 years, and cancelling gives no refund for unused time.
- The free version saves nothing and audits 500 URLs; Professional prints reports with watermarks, and white-label reports need Enterprise.
- Each of the four apps is also sold on its own, from $149 a year for WebSite Auditor Professional.

How this page was made
- The verdict at the top follows a fixed rule. When both tools are in the same category and either is in our top three for it, the verdict follows that ranking: the higher-placed tool is our pick. The top three weigh who each tool suits as well as its grades, so a pick can go against the GPA. Otherwise the page does not pick one and says which grades higher: the higher GPA first; on a tie, the one with a free plan, then the one that starts cheaper in dollars a month, counted the same way for both; if they are still level, what the choice depends on.
- The grades are our own, from each tool’s review or report card. The GPA is their average.
- Prices, plans and platforms come from each tool’s listing. The table above says where each price was read and when.
- The differences and the answers to the questions are worked out from those listings.
