Which one is for you

Pick GRC if

  • Fits if you work in Japan and Yahoo rankings are the ones you report on
  • Works for keeping ranking data on your own Windows PC rather than in a web service

Look elsewhere if

  • Skip it if you need Google rankings, as GRC no longer checks them, and Bing was removed
  • Not for you if you're on a Mac or want it in a browser, as it's Windows only
  • Tight if your needs might grow, since a plan can't be changed once its key is issued, and upgrading by paying the difference isn't offered
  • Watch out: each PC or Windows user account needs its own licence, and the site is in Japanese only
  • Watch out: the free edition's item limit isn't stated, and yearly licences are paid by bank transfer

Pick SERPRobot if

  • Fits if you're a freelancer tracking a few hundred keywords and want to pay per 75 daily checks
  • Works for you if you need Bing, Yahoo or YouTube positions next to Google

Look elsewhere if

  • Skip it if AI Overviews or chatbot answers matter to you, as its pages don't mention tracking them
  • Tight if you might cancel early, as there are no refunds and a cancelled bot just runs to the end of its period
  • Pricey if you check thousands of keywords daily, since every 75 more is another $4.99 bot
  • Watch out: paying yearly costs the same as twelve months, with no discount
  • Not for you if you want a desktop or phone app, as it's web only with Looker Studio the one integration

How we grade them

Value for money
ABasic is ¥495 a month for 5 URLs and 500 keywords, tax included, or ¥4,950 a year. That's a fraction of what rank trackers usually charge, even counting that it now checks Yahoo only.
AOne bot is $4.99 a month for 75 daily keyword checks, with every feature and unlimited projects. That's under 60% of this category's cheaper quarter ($10). Ten bots, 750 daily checks, are $49.90, and paying yearly saves nothing.
Free plan and trial
CA free edition of the same program, with a lower limit on sites and keywords that a paid key raises. The pages read don't say what that limit is.
CNo free plan, but a 14-day trial of the full service with no payment or card. There's also a free one-off SERP checker on the site.
Features
DOne-click and scheduled checks, every past position with graphs and notes, competitor and top-site tracking, alerts and CSV export. But it now checks Yahoo only, after Google checks stopped and Bing was removed, so it can't do the job most people want a tracker for.
CRankings on Google, Bing, Yahoo, YouTube and Google My Business, on desktop, mobile or tablet anywhere, with on-demand checks, competitors, alerts and search volumes. The gap its own pages leave: nothing on AI Overviews or AI chat answers.
Ease of use
CNo rating on record. You install it, register sites and keywords and press go, but the site is in Japanese only, and each PC or Windows account needs its own licence.
CNo rating on record. There's a calculator to work out how many bots your keywords and check frequency need, then projects, competitors and locations to add.
Platforms and integrations
DWindows only, with no web, Mac or phone version and no integrations. Standard and up can view another PC's GRC data remotely, but that's as far as it reaches.
BWeb only, with no desktop or phone app. Paid accounts get an API, and there's a Looker Studio connector for dashboards, but that's the only ready-made integration listed.

    Worth knowing

    GRC

    • It now checks Yahoo only: its changelog says Google checks were stopped and Bing checks removed because those engines changed.
    • It runs on Windows only, and each PC or Windows user account needs its own license.
    • The site is in Japanese and prices are in yen; monthly licenses are paid by PayPal, yearly ones by bank transfer.
    • A license plan cannot be changed after the key is issued, and upgrades by paying the difference are not offered.

    SERPRobot

    • Cost follows checks: one bot covers 75 keywords checked daily, so 750 daily keywords need ten bots at $49.90 a month.
    • Yearly billing costs the same as twelve months; the pricing page shows no annual discount.
    • There are no refunds: a cancelled bot keeps working until its paid period ends. One-off yearly bots that do not renew are also sold.
    • Its pages do not mention tracking AI Overviews or AI chat answers.

    How this page was made

    • The verdict at the top follows a fixed rule. When both tools are in the same category and either is in our top three for it, the verdict follows that ranking: the higher-placed tool is our pick. The top three weigh who each tool suits as well as its grades, so a pick can go against the GPA. Otherwise the page does not pick one and says which grades higher: the higher GPA first; on a tie, the one with a free plan, then the one that starts cheaper in dollars a month, counted the same way for both; if they are still level, what the choice depends on.
    • The grades are our own, from each tool’s review or report card. The GPA is their average.
    • Prices, plans and platforms come from each tool’s listing. The table above says where each price was read and when.
    • The differences and the answers to the questions are worked out from those listings.
