2.0
GPA, above 0 of the 30 other form and survey tools we grade
FlexiQuiz is a web app for building quizzes, tests and exams that score themselves, along with live quiz games and simple courses. Quizzes are shared by link, embedded on a site or assigned to learners through password-protected respondent portals, and results can be broken down by person, group or question. Paid plans are priced by monthly responses and the number of admins.
To get you started, here are 9 things to know about FlexiQuiz, taken from its own pages and our grades.

The report card
Best for tests that mark themselves
FlexiQuiz is a quiz and test maker rather than a general form builder, so we've graded it against its own alternatives, from Google Forms to Typeform. It marks tests for you, runs timed exams and live quiz games, and gives learners their own log-in portal. Paid starts at $17 a month billed yearly, but the API and Zapier wait for the $60 plan.
| Subject | Grade | Comment |
|---|---|---|
| Value for money | C | Graded against its alternatives. Essentials is $17 a month billed yearly, $25 monthly, for 500 responses: less than Typeform or Jotform, more than Google Forms quizzes, which are free. Embedding and selling quizzes need Premium at $25, and the API needs Enterprise at $60. |
| Free plan and trial | C | Free for good, with unlimited quizzes and the AI question writer, but each quiz stops at 10 questions and the account at 20 responses a month. One class sitting one test and you're there. |
| Features | C | It does the quiz job fully: marking with points and grades, timers, random order, attempt limits, learner portals, live games and selling access. That's a smaller job than forms in general, though, and the listing puts embedding on Premium and the API on Enterprise. |
| Ease of use | C | No rating on record. Each quiz still has to be written and its marking and settings chosen, though the AI generator drafts one from a prompt, a web page or a file. |
| Platforms and integrations | C | Web only, with nothing to install. Stripe is there for selling from Premium, but the API, webhooks and Zapier all wait for the $60 Enterprise plan, so on most plans it doesn't connect to much. |
An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.
Who FlexiQuiz is for
- Great if you're a teacher or trainer who wants tests marked for you
- Handy when staff need onboarding or compliance tests with results by person
- A treat if you want to sell a quiz or short course without setting up a shop
Who it is not for
- Tight if you're staying free, with 20 responses a month and 10 questions a quiz
- Pricey if you need the API or Zapier, which start at $60 a month billed yearly
- Not for you if you want everyday forms and surveys, as this is built for tests
Good to know
Good for
- Teachers and trainers who want tests marked automatically
- Companies running staff onboarding and compliance assessments
- Course sellers who want to charge for quizzes without a separate store
Worth knowing
- The free plan stops at 20 responses a month and 10 questions per quiz.
- The API, webhooks, Zapier, single sign-on and custom CSS are listed only on the $60-a-month Enterprise plan.
- Selling quizzes, custom certificates and embedding on your own site need Premium or higher.
- The terms state there are no refunds, and a subscription must be cancelled at least 3 days before the next payment.

Keep it, or make your own?
Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.
Your call
A form at its plainest is questions, a button and a table of answers.
You could make the core of FlexiQuiz for yourself: forms and online courses. What you would give up is listed below. Whether that is worth the price is your call. It costs $204 a year.
What you could make
- Forms and online courses: an app builder makes these well.
- It runs in a browser, which is where something home-made would run too.
What you could not
- It plugs into other products, Stripe, Zapier and ChatGPT among them, and has an API.
- AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.
What this rests on. FlexiQuiz’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.
