Part 01 · Overview

Welcome

What it is, who it suits, its grades and the ten things to know first

2.2

GPA, above 4 of the 48 other CRM tools we grade

folk is a CRM for sales teams, agencies and startups that gathers contacts from email, LinkedIn and WhatsApp into shared groups and pipelines. It adds contact enrichment, AI assistants and email campaigns, and the Premium plan brings deals, email sequences, dashboards and API access. Plans are priced per member, with a 14-day trial and no free plan.

To get you started, here are 10 things to know about folk, taken from its own pages and our grades.

  1. 1

Best for small teams that find leads on LinkedIn

There's no free plan, enrichment and messages are capped monthly, and fees aren't refunded.

  2. 2

Paid plans start at $24 a month for each person

As its pricing page puts it: $24 per member / month, billed annually ($30 billed monthly).

  3. 3

    You can try it first

14-day free trial with Premium features, no credit card required

  4. 4

    It runs on 5 platforms

Web, macOS, Windows, iOS and Android, with a browser extension too.

  5. 5

    folkX Chrome extension

Saves people and companies from LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and other social sites into folk from the browser, so contacts do not have to be typed in by hand.

  6. 6

    Email, calendar and WhatsApp sync

Gmail or Outlook mail, calendars and WhatsApp conversations are synced to each contact. Standard allows 1 synced account per member and Premium allows 5.

  7. 7

    Contact enrichment

Looks up missing email addresses and phone numbers for contacts. Standard includes 500 enrichments a month and Premium 1,000; Enterprise limits are custom.

  8. 8

    Refunds: no set window

folk's terms are blunt: all fees are non-refundable, including for unused services. The way out is easy enough, two clicks in Settings, and you keep the paid features to the end of the period.

  9. 9

    A 2.2 GPA, above 4 of 48

That is against the other CRM tools we grade, on value, the free plan, features, ease of use and platforms.

  10. 10

    Keep it

To replace folk you would be making connections to other products, each kept working as those products change. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

The report card

Best for small teams that find leads on LinkedIn

folk is a CRM for contacts scattered across LinkedIn, email and WhatsApp, with a Chrome extension that saves people from LinkedIn and looks up missing emails and numbers. Standard is $24 a member, but deals, sequences, dashboards and the API all wait for Premium at $48. There's no free plan, enrichment and messages are capped monthly, and fees aren't refunded.

ToolGPA report cardfolkGraded Oct 10, 2026
SubjectGradeComment
Value for moneyDStandard is $24 a member a month on yearly billing, bang on the middle for CRMs here. The problem is what's missing from it: deals, email sequences, dashboards and API access all need Premium at $48, which is double the category's middle price for things most CRMs treat as the basics.
Free plan and trialCNo free plan at all. The 14-day trial gives you Premium features and doesn't ask for a card. After that it's a paid subscription, and folk's terms say fees aren't refunded.
FeaturesCContacts, groups, pipelines, campaigns, enrichment and four AI assistants, with a Chrome extension that pulls people in from LinkedIn. But the listing's own gaps are real ones: no deals or custom objects until Premium, no quoting or support cases at all, and enrichments, AI fields and messages are all capped monthly.
Ease of useCNo App Store rating on record, and getting going means connecting accounts: Gmail or Outlook, your calendar, WhatsApp, plus the browser extension. Only 1 synced account per member on Standard, so there's a bit of deciding to do before it's useful.
Platforms and integrationsAWeb, Mac, Windows, iPhone, Android and a Chrome extension, which is more places than most CRMs here run. It connects to Gmail, Outlook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Google Calendar, Zapier, Make and PandaDoc, and there's an API, though only from Premium.
Grade point averageFair, out of 4.02.2

An A is worth 4 points, a B 3, a C 2, a D 1 and an F nothing. The GPA is the average of the five.

Who folk is for

  • Fits if you find your leads on LinkedIn and don't want to type them into a CRM
  • Works for teams whose conversations are split between email and WhatsApp

Who it is not for

  • Pricey if you need deals, sequences, dashboards or the API, which only come with Premium at $48 a member
  • Skip it if you want a free plan, as the 14-day trial is followed by a paid subscription
  • Tight if you do a lot of outreach: 500 enrichments, 2,000 messages and 1 synced account a member on Standard
  • Watch out: folk's terms say all fees are non-refundable, and monthly billing is $30 against $24 yearly
  • Not for you if you need quotes or support cases, which folk doesn't have on any plan

Good to know

Good for

  • Small sales teams, agencies and founders who prospect on LinkedIn
  • Teams that manage relationships across email and WhatsApp
  • People who want enrichment and outreach inside the CRM rather than in separate tools

Worth knowing

  • There is no free plan; the 14-day trial is followed by a paid subscription.
  • Deals, email sequences, dashboards and API access are only on Premium and Enterprise.
  • Enrichments, AI magic fields and messages are capped each month on Standard and Premium.
  • The terms of use state that all fees are non-refundable.

Keep it, or make your own?

Whether this is something you could build for yourself with an AI app builder, and what you would give up.

Keep it

To replace folk you would be making connections to other products, each kept working as those products change. That is not a weekend's work, with an AI app builder or without one.

That makes this kind of software worth paying for, not this one in particular: 30 of the 48 other CRM tools grade higher. It costs $288 a year.

What you could make

  • Sales pipeline: an app builder makes this well.

What you could not

  • Connections to other products, each kept working as those products change.
  • Apps for macOS, Windows, iOS and Android that stay in step with each other.
  • It is priced for each person, which means accounts and billing for a team.
  • AI features, unless you pay a model provider for each request yourself.

What this rests on. folk’s listing: what it does, where it runs, what it plugs into and what it costs. It is a judgement about the kind of software this is. We have not built a replacement for it, and making your own means looking after it too. How we decide, and every tool’s verdict.

Refunds and cancelling

CGrade

Ordinary · checked Oct 18, 2026

folk's terms are blunt: all fees are non-refundable, including for unused services. The way out is easy enough, two clicks in Settings, and you keep the paid features to the end of the period. What you should plan for is the landing: there is no free plan to fall back on, and the terms say your account and content go when the subscription does. No refunds with a clean self-service exit is a C.

Refund window
No set window
How you cancel
Yourself, in settings
Getting your money back

The terms of use say all fees are non-refundable, including for unused services or cancelled accounts, and that a cancellation only takes effect at the end of the subscription term. The one refund folk's pages mention is a workaround: the billing article says that if a tax ID could not be added to a first invoice, the team can cancel the subscription and refund it so you can pay again with the ID in place.

Stated on folk.app
How to cancel folk

A paid plan is cancelled in the app under Settings, then Plans, with Cancel subscription in the top right-hand corner. folk asks for feedback on the way out. A Custom Enterprise plan has to be cancelled by the support team on request. Access to the paid features continues to the end of the billing period. A subscription bought in the mobile app is cancelled in that store instead.

  1. Go to Settings, then Plans
  2. Select Cancel subscription in the top right-hand corner
  3. Answer the question about why you are cancelling to confirm
Stated on help.folk.app
What you keep afterwards

The terms say that when a subscription ends, for whatever reason, you lose access, the account is deleted along with your content, and folk removes that content from its servers immediately afterwards. There is no free plan to drop to. A help article on data deletion says a blocked workspace gets a warning 15 days after the last login, a second 7 days later and deletion 3 days after that.

Stated on folk.app
Renewals

The terms say the subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year, depending on the plan, and the payment method on file is charged at the start of each new period under the same conditions as before, unless one side cancels. Invoices are emailed. No reminder before a renewal is mentioned. The renewal date is shown in the app under Settings, then Plans.

Stated on folk.app

In your favour

  • Cancelling is two clicks in Settings, with nobody to email unless you are on Enterprise.
  • You keep the paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
  • Adding or removing a member is prorated, so you are not billed for seats you no longer have.
  • The renewal date is shown in the app under Settings, then Plans, so it is easy to check.

Watch out for

  • All fees are non-refundable, including for unused services, and that is the terms' own wording.
  • There is no free plan to land on: when the subscription ends, so does your access.
  • The terms say your account and content are deleted and removed from folk's servers after that.
  • A Custom Enterprise plan can't be cancelled in the app; the support team has to do it.

Customer support

BGrade

Good · checked Oct 18, 2026

You can message the folk team on live chat from inside the app, or email them, and there is a decent help centre behind both. What no page we read will tell you is when anyone is at the desk or how long a reply takes, and Enterprise gets a priority queue and an account manager that nobody else does. Live chat without stated hours or a reply time is a B, not an A.

Ways to get help

  • Live chat

Live chat from inside your account, through the question-mark button at the bottom right. folk's billing article says you can message the team there if you would rather speak to someone directly.

    Stated on help.folk.app
  • Email

folk gives an email address for the team at the foot of its help articles, as an alternative to live chat. A separate address is given for privacy and data requests in the account-deletion article.

    Stated on help.folk.app
  • Account manager

The pricing page lists 1:1 onboarding sessions with a dedicated account manager on the Enterprise plan, alongside custom integrations and priority support.

    Stated on folk.app
  • Help centre

A public help centre with collections on getting started, importing contacts, assistants, data, emails and sequences, integrations and the API, the mobile app, roles, security, and plans and billing.

    Stated on help.folk.app

Not listed on folk’s pages: phone.

When people answer

Its pages do not say.

How fast it says it replies

Its pages do not say.

What depends on your plan

The pricing page lists priority support and 1:1 onboarding with a dedicated account manager under Enterprise only. Nothing on the Standard or Premium cards mentions support, and the help centre points everyone to the same live chat and email.

Stated on folk.app

In your favour

  • Live chat sits inside the app, so you are not hunting for a contact form.
  • Both chat and email are offered on every plan, with no threshold stated.
  • The help centre is public and covers billing, cancelling and deleting an account.
  • Enterprise buyers get 1:1 onboarding with a named account manager.

Watch out for

  • No hours are stated anywhere, so there is no telling when the chat is staffed.
  • No reply time is stated either, for chat or for email.
  • Priority support is an Enterprise word, and Enterprise starts at a custom quote.
  • There is no phone line listed on any page we read.

What these two grades rest on. Read on 18 October 2026: folk's terms of use, its help articles on managing billing, on pricing plans, on the data deletion policy and on deleting an account, the help centre's front page and the plan cards on its pricing page. Nobody here cancelled a plan or contacted its support. They are graded apart from the five that make the GPA. How we grade refunds and support.
